While cutting the output of ores as in BTW might be a better option overall it is far from simpler. There are a number of issues that you're not considering. Many vanilla recipes are not balanced for that output. Furthermore the output in BTW is balanced for the fact that all iron is recyclable via the crucible and taking into account late game mob traps for iron output. It's only because of the changes BTW made to mob behavior (allowing them to wander at range and making them actually drop things they are holding or wearing) that mob traps are useful in BTW.
Furthermore Tinkers construct is a forge mod and so has to worry about other mods. If he balances his mod for nuggets and another mod comes along that doesn't respect that then any careful balancing is blown out of the water. Even disabling vanilla tools is a somewhat difficult proposition because it would feel even stranger with vanilla tools disabled but you can craft say a thaumium pick via the vanilla method. So many headaches in compatibility if you're trying to provide a consistent play experience.
Looks...like logs. Interesting. Now I have to wonder if the village setting is at all relevant...

Also, I've flipped shovel textures for Tinker's Construct and ExtraTiC for a more realistic-looking animation, check here: http://www.minecraft...hovel-textures/

I guess I don't understand this...I tried looking in the thread for a relating post, but nada. Can someone ELI5 it for me?
All the metals in liquid form will disappear upon upgrading to 1.6. (Although, IIRC, Forge had some changes to allow for modders to prevent this, I'm not sure if mDiyo is taking advantage of this)

Alright, thanks. The way I read it was that liquids aren't saving with each world, so one would need to empty all liquid metals upon quitting.
does the electric modifier allow a tool to be charged with a thermal expansion energetic infuser?
thanks crashes between this mod and ic2... no matter what i do i cant fix it, unless someone with ic2 wants to send me their config if these mods work together
Graphical bug report for Dev27 on version 1.6.2. It seems that the tools/weapons/etc. are all goofed up texturally in that a few of their pixels are all over the place, and they are in weird positions when placed on Bibliocraft's Tool Rack. The sides look fine, but the pixels that connect the two sides are the problem. You might want to fix that.
Also, there is absolutely no description for the stuff you can make on either the Tool Builder and Tool Forge, but their names do appear as they normally should. I'm playing Minecraft on Linux by the way.

mDiyo, mind if I make a suggestion? Could you make it so that Flamestring from your other mod Natura could also be turned into a T-construct bowstring material? Would love to use it in a T-con bow, considering how I mostly use your tools and weapons. We need more bowstrings.... we have like none we can use to make em sadly.
I was watching Direwolf20 using his pretty new bow and arrows, and the foremost thought in my mind was... it's kind of a shame that you're shooting all these baddies with your new bow and then have to hop over to where you shot them to collect your arrows. And what about shooting ghasts in the nether? They're often floating above lava lakes. Your arrows could easily get dropped into the lava and be unretrievable. That would be sad as they're rather expensive to craft.
Wouldn't it be nice to be able to add a "return" modifier to them? Something like enderpearls that would give a chance to automatically return the arrow to your inventory when you shoot it. Adding more enderpearls would increase your chance of getting your arrows back.
My prefered weapon type is ranged weapons, usually fired from a distance. Thaumcraft wands of fire and lightning are perfect for this. I would like to see if your bows are as effective, but the effort of retrieving the arrows is daunting when I usually make some sort of shooting stand for myself and fire from safety. (I use Ars Magica spells too, which also work well, though the load on my computer seems pretty heavy with AM installed.)

I personally find it quite pathetic how arrows are not only the most effecient ranged weapon (for obvious reasons) but that they are the strongest melee weapon as well. Just try using your T-construct arrow as a melee weapon next time around once you put 4-5 rounds of sharpness on it. I have gotten one up to 20 damage (one shots most mobs as a melee weapon) and with bowshots of 40 damage.
You have 64 of them. Craft all 64, mod them all out, use one at a time as the ultima melee weapon that you will NEVER run out of or worry about durability on, and only lose if you die.
So... I just updated Tinker's Construct and noticed the weirdest thing. If you attempt to type "Cutlass" into NEI's search bar, the NEI gets all wonky. It does the same thing when you go onto the page containing the cutlass (page 47 for me)
I have NEI 1.6.1.2 and the dev27 of Tinker's Construct (both up to date according to the threads). Here's the weirdness:
My drawbridge extends two blocks and stops. I assumed it was set like this by default to prevent griefing but this appears to not be the case. What is causing this?

You need Alumite or Steel.

Yeah, it's mainly because the Forge guys rewrote the way it handles liquids (now called fluids, because it can handle gases as well)
