so i tried to make my own personal skyfactory thing using various mods and i included this gem of a mod. however, looking for more ways to create resource like dirt i promted myself to start magical crops. problem is i dont know how to start. for starter, where do i get my initial minicio essence. does it only drop from mob or do i have another way to get some. thats all i want to ask for now. i think i can use common sense to progress further. thanks in advance.
Minicio can drop from passive and aggressive mobs by default. Right off the top of my head, if you want that to grow to dirt, you'll need (I believe) 4 pieces of dirt to be able to create Earth Seeds, which make dirt and other earthly materials (so start the map off with 4 of them, or have a mod such as Ex Nihilo available). After grass (as in the plant grass), there is a chance to get Minicio seeds. It's completely possible to get ahold of Minicio in any Skyblock map, so long as mobs can spawn.
You have just shown everyone the reason of why I added configs to
disable crops/seeds people don't like, why so angry... it's a mod,
nobody here is forcing you to use it.
Because everyone and their mother uses prebuilt configs from modpacks and those prebuilt modpacks more than often don't remove config settings so everyone complains that the mod is too easy. I kinda wish I was joking. But you will be blamed for the mistakes of the modpack makers, and the issues this person is having should be reported to the modpack maker.
thanks for showing me this man. upvoting for that. so all i have to do is break grass. now that i have lots of bonemeal from sifting dust i can simply use them to get some minicio.
Interesting mod, and so I've got some coal and fire crops growing in the garden. But I'll pass on beta testing, because I don't want to give up the work I put into making my saved game world.
I'll get the next version when the disappearing crops/seeds issue is fixed.

1.what is X (X=the different tiers of essence: accacio, crucio,etc.)Soil Fertilizer used and/or will be used for?

3.something that has been pointed in this thread will the gems be returning (i'm sorry its just i see multiple zivicio armor's in nei and some say they have gems on them so its really bugging me that i cant do that)?
4.will it be possible to add a feature or is there a mod that adds a feature that makes different light sources with a curtain color in there name emit the actual light in a different color kinda like terraria dose?
5. another thing that has been brought up will nether star, elementium (or what ever the purple ingot from botania is) also void seeds (as been mentioned its a thing in vanilla thaumcraft but i prefer magical crops if possible also i don't know how effective they are or what they are used for) also seeds for metals such as metallurgy (or if there's a compatibility mod somewhere)?
6.also will the potions be re-added?
7.also sorry if i'm missing any thing but will all the old block be returning (obsidian infused wooden planks, glow-stone infused bricks,etc.)?

1 & 2:I believe the fertilizer and farmland are more appropriately effective than the last (i.e. crops will grow faster on Crucio farmland than Minicio). However don't quote me on this since this is just a shot in the dark.
3: Gems will either be returning, or will be scrapped. Most likely returning in a future version.
4: It's certainly possible; Random Things has a blood moon which, when it happens, give a red light color, but that's the only mod I know that changes the light of the world. This is best an idea you bring up to Mark somehow (he asks for criticism on Twitter a lot). If you mean them having specific auras of color, pretty sure that can be done as well.
5: Nether Stars are possible, but I personally don't see this likely. EE3 aside, most of the materials covered by Magical Crops have only one method to obtain them (there is no other way to get Yellorium and Copper besides mining), which makes Magical Crops such a great mod. Nether Stars have quite a couple other mods that give different methods of obtaining them (take the Molecular Transformer, which changes a diamond into a Nether Star). Of course, this mod can become quite OP, and is seen pretty OP already, so Nether Stars and Elementium is possible.
Metallurgy support would be nice to see too, and given time they may just appear.
6: Can't say yes or no, but if I recall correctly the proper seeds are still in the mod, so it's likely.
7: Mark did say once that old blocks will be returning. Light blocks have already returned, so it's likely the blocks you mentioned will return as well.
Hey great idea for the mod, but when I try to look at some of the recipes in NEI my game crashes. The seeds work fine and the essence, but pretty much everything else crashes me.
Voidmetal technically already has a seed in plain old Thaumcraft.
If you don't like these more overpowered seeds, you can disable them in the config.
Void Seeds are entirely different. They are merely an alchemy catalyst for making Voidmetal Ingots.
Didn't mean to come off as hostile, just frustrated by everyone suggesting so many balance-breaking seed ideas. It makes it feel like it's sliding closer to how EE3 and ProjectE handle things. Stuff like Elementium and Nether Stars shouldn't be able to be grown like crops.
On a separate note, any chance of bringing back the config option to entirely disable essence seeds? On the server, we have the second drop chance disabled, and the chance as low as possible, but EnderIO Farming Stations, when used with a tool with Fortune, seem to bypass this, amassing huge amounts of essence seeds. One player has even requested that we ban him because he thinks he was duping, and he feels bad about it, and if we tell him it's not an issue, that just opens the floodgates for everyone else to do it.

Elementium and Nether Stars can't be grown. :| However it's very easy to set up an automatic Nether Star farm across many mods, as early as mid-game. You don't even need to get a Wither Skull manually if you use MFR. If NS seeds appeared, it wouldn't be much of an issue generally.
please have look at the link below we have been trying to solve this and its annoying problem we found out the cause might be Magical crops beta 3 because on beta 1 its working fine i cant load any of my world and i dont want to downgrade to beta 1 becasue my world will be corrupt i cant play now and i hope u help fixing this problem if it was from magical crops
and small request if u dont mind making magical crops compatible with MFR harvester and planter so i dont need extra addon to add this feature
so when will the wiki ever be updated? its impossible to find up to date information on magical crops! im playing skyfactory 2 and it has magical crops in it using minicio essence and stuff like that and i cant find any info on what the growth pulser does or how to make the fertile land made with the main 4 essences so if anyone knows could you please help?
Great mod and it will help with diversity in my up coming mod pack. The reasons it will help:
1) I have growable ores and it will give more options for that
2) It adds more farming to my mod pack than just automatic farming with Ender IO
3) It gives people more thinking to do before mining
My ideas:
1) Water/lava seeds
2) Add draconium seeds(FYI draconium is the ore in the Draconic Evolution mod) as going to the end to get it is annoying
3) Maybe add a config file that allows you to disable certain things or lower rates of in which you get things

Draconic Evolution is crap and broken OP so I wouldn't be surprised if he never adds compatibility. Not to say he won't though, because technically speaking that's his job is to make all ores farmable though.
ok first of all you should probably not be so rude! second for your information there are no lava seeds instead you use fire seeds/essence also he might not have nei installed so there isnt a great way to see whats in the mod! on that note things like the growth pulser and the essence farmlands being confusing even with nei
I've a probleme in the vesion 1.7.10_1.0 of magical crops with the osmium crops and the osmium essence, i give me osmium seed because i can't craft this but i can't craft osmium ore with the essence. What can i do for activate the essence and the seeds ?

Some of the crops/essence are for use with other mods. If you don't have those mods installed, then you won't need/have any use for the products those plants produce.
For example, Osmium is from the Mekanism Mod. If you don't have the Mekanism mod, you won't be able to get Osmium because it's part of that mod.
(even if you could craft it, you couldn't do anything with it, unless you install Mekanism)

Do you have mekanism?
Some of the crops/essence are for use with other mods. If you don't have those mods installed, then you won't need/have any use for the products those plants produce.
For example, Osmium is from the Mekanism Mod. If you don't have the Mekanism mod, you won't be able to get Osmium because it's part of that mod.
(even if you could craft it, you couldn't do anything with it, unless you install Mekanism)
Is the public 1.7.10 beta of this mod safe to use? (by that I mean will it sometimes crash the game, are there any W.I.P. items, etc.)
Crashes are always possible for any mod and I think there's some WIP stuff, but honestly, it's as safe as any other mod.
will you be bringing back the craftability of gems and putting them into armor ans items? sorry if this has already been asked.
