I miss it too, it was probably the most interesting consequence I've seen yet for a "magic is costly" type deal.
Haha. Can't say I blame him, a lot of people had threads on how to get rid of it, and I know not a lot of players like to have such risk associated with games like minecraft. I can understand that, but I'm just a masochist for challenge like that, looking for industrial pollution mods, natural disasters, corruption. That sort of stuff. Makes me feel better that the the world has a fighting chance against me as I exploit it with no remorse. Haha but that's just me
With Flux being the new "taint" I expect Azanor to come up with some pretty evil things that happen when flux gets into the high and dangerous levels especially if you pump specific aspects into the air. By that I mean lots of new mobs. I get the feeling he hasn't even started with that stuff... maybe Azanor will bring back the corrupted land and mobs feature down the road once things get more cemented with the mod.
Recently happened to me too. :/ it's very annoying. Weird thing is is that sometimes when i load up the world i can see the aura meters (GoR) but no physical auras anywhere. and no matter where i go the meter doesn't change, and the area i live in has high Flux (damn that research) but it says "none".
I seem to have the same issue. This has been an ongoing problem since TC 3 came out. Azanor changed the way nodes are saved in the world saves recently, but that apparently isn't the cause of the problem because I have a brand new world created in 1.4.6 and there are no nodes near spawn. I've planted a silverwood sapling, but it's taking forever to grow. I'm wondering if it won't grow without aura.
One of the things I noticed is that nodes continue to vanish from my overworld. When I first crafted a wand, I had to walk a ways from my spawn/home base before it would charge up. Now, if I go to that same point, still no aura. I don't have the googles yet though. I can go to a myst age and it will have aura there, but I suspect things like the infernal furnace and levitator won't work in my overworld home base at all without any aura nodes nearby.

Seems there is a way to get infinite amounts of magic essence. When you put magic tallow into a cauldron with an alembic it will remake the magic tallow while piping the leftover magic essence into the alembic. So if you do this over and over you can end up with massive amounts of magic essence.

I believe this is because you make magic tallow with vis which is magic so your just putting back what you take out. But it does create flux.
Aura nodes will charge it while its in your inventory, so you may need to walk around a bit to get close enough to find one or make sure that they even spawned.
You won't get any help by saying that, we need details on how it didn't work, and a crash log if you can find one.
Did you instal the correct version of forge correctly? On the correct version of Minecraft for the forge and thaumcraft version you have? Correct Thaumcraft version and no conflicting mods?

It would be cool if you can convert some of your saved up Aspects and transform them into crystal shards. Say 1 full bottle could be converted into 1 crystal. This crystal then counts as 1 full bottle of said Aspect and 5 shards could be later combined into 1 cluster. This crystal cluster can be placed on the floor, walls, or ceiling and give off a twinkling effect.

Actually, I don't know if this has been suggested before or not, but I think it would be doubly awesome if essentia were a Forge-compatible liquid. That way, instead of lining your magical lab's walls with a bunch of jars, you could have five or so buildcraft tanks and pipe in whatever essentia you need from a complex liquid sorting system. It would really add to the mad scientist-magician feel that Thaumcraft so wonderfully creates.
Worked for about 20 minutes then crashed. Now it crashes every time I log in. A friend installed it on his server. I installed it on my side using MultiMC. I was in the Twilight Forest, mined up some of the new ores from Thaumcraft, then jumped into the portal to go back to the regular world... crash =(

Admin has the mod files posted on his website and intructions. I used those files and followed the instructions. Worked fine on all the other mods for a couple weeks now.

I looked in both. There is only the option to change it to hold to show, or hold to hide. you can't change the key itself.

Server worked fine for weeks... install this mod.. .now it crashes. Seems awefully suspect =/
