Maybe he means items that are on the ground, you could change the decay time and health.
AFAIK that's not possible with any NBT editors or Sethbling's filters that I know of.
Only way to do that would be to make a custom spawner with position data and all that, which would be a hassle to do.

It is possible with an NBT editor, but you would have to search for the entity which is very hard.
Anyway, I didn't really need to change the properties of drops/arrows/firecharges etc. But I wanted to copy their NBT tags to use in a spawner. That's handier since my game keeps crashing, because sometimes I make a mistake when trying to change the spawner properties.

I have a lot of different clients. Survival modpack, newest snapshot and a few others. The main client is of course the one that I use the most. It has mods that I use on multiplayer and singleplayer when I build things.
USE CUSTOM SPAWNERS
Is that too hard to get through your head?
Yes, I know, and I did it that way now. But what I'm trying to say is that when I want to make a spawner spawning arrows starting at specific coordinates. I would have to insert the tags into the spawners manually. Then there's also the chance of making a mistake which will crash your game and you'll have to start over. So that's why I thought, why can't you select arrows, that way you clould just copy his tags and put those in the spawner. That would have saved me like at least half an hour per entity. I'm not saying you HAVE to make this, I'm just saying that would be way handier.

Look up the wiki on how to edit NBT tags.
I did, but it's very hard to find blocks and entities with a not ingame nbt editor when you have a lot of entities.
.....then use an in-game NBT editor. Simple as that.
Yeah, but I can't select drops/arrows etc. Wait... No... We're getting in a loop here...
Items on the ground have to do with chunk NBTs, and this mod doesn't have the ability to edit the world yet.

A drop is an entity just like any other entity. The only reason why you can't select it (I think) is because it has no colision box.
*facepalm*
Just tell me what you need, I'll code it for you.
This is getting nowhere.
Well it's not really necessary, but being able to select all the 'currently-not-selectable-entities' would be nice.
You can just make another client for Forge mods.

What do you mean?
He means you can load nbt tags in to the game in case you closed minecraft.
Put the items in a chest and select the chest.
