First, sorry for my bad english. It's not my native language. But, I hope, you will understand me .
I have Minecraft 1.4.7 with latest Forge for it and pack of many mods, and I have some problems with Mo Creatures (yes, again). Actually, I have installed MoCreatures, Thaumcraft, DivineRPG and ExtraBiomesXL. If i use the default configuration of MoCreatures, I see mobs from Mo Creatures and Thaumcraft (in vanilla biomes), but there are no any DivineRPG mobs in overworld. Then I had installed MSC, it didn't resolve this problem.
But, I found the next sequence for resolve it:
1) Launch Minecraft, check the MoCreatures in-game configuration menu. The options "Use custom spawner", "Despawn vanilla mobs" and "Change vanilla spawns" must be disabled.
2) Load your world. There are mobs from DivineRPG in vanilla biomes, but not any MoCreatures mobs.
3) Change the "Use Custom spawner" option to "Yes", and MoCreatures mobs start spawn in all biomes. And DivineRPG mobs spawn too, also in new explored chunks.
So, if you have CustomSpawner turned on BEFORE loading world, you will have only MoCreatures mobs, but, if you turn it on AFTER world loading, DivineRPG mobs spawn normally.
longwing, I need the config file for ExtraBiomesXL+DivineRPG too, and it's hard work to make it manually. But MSC makes the 'default' configuration for DivineRPG mobs in vanilla biomes. As ExtraBiomesXL creates biomes, based on vanilla biomes, we can just copy settings from vanilla biomes. But, I don't know, is this 'MSC generated default settings' correct or no?
First question:
In the config file, each entity is listed with three numbers. For example: Spider{10/4/4}
I understand that the first number is the weight, and it affects the likelihood of a given mob spawning (higher is more likely).
I'm assuming that the other two numbers are min/max per group? I can't seem to find confirmation of this in the thread (though I could easily be blind).
If it's not too much trouble to add, putting comments in the SpawnConfiguration and DefaultSpawnConfiguration file when they're generated would be extremely useful. Just something to tell new users what each of the options controls.
Second question:
Does anyone have a SpawnConfiguration.txt that's already populated with DevineRPG mobs in appropriate numbers? Preferably one that also includes ExtrabiomesXL's Biomes?
I can copy the mobs into new biomes easily enough if need be, but setting up the hundreds of DivineRPG mobs from scratch is a pretty daunting task, particularly when I haven't played through DivineRPG, so I don't know what mobs go where.
You assume correctly for the first question.
Would be nice if someone has a config to share, as I only see the DRPG mobs automatically set in its own additional biomes by default. All the others are unset it seems. You may want to contact or look for posts from Rhaz, who I know uses MSC and DRPG.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
The config files are your friends! Get to know them, and shape your world!
Loads and generates configs fine on the client. Congrats! It would be nice if you could put your config files under /config like everybody else though. /config/default_msc would be perfect.
I tried tweaking all vanilla entities down to 1/1/1 to let the ones from other mods spawn, and sure enough vanilla creatures only spawned in groups of 1 (except a few weird exceptions), and were pretty rare. I saw creatures from pretty much all my mods including MoCreatures spawn. This is my mod list:
I *did* encounter large swathes of land without any creature spawning, and some snow region had a ridiculous amount of MoCreatures bears, but I think those are just the quirks of the vanilla spawning system plus the individual mob spawning conditions.
For MoCreatures I used the setting useCustomSpawner=false and used default settings besides that. My MSC config file for MoCreatures was as follows, it's only the default MoCreatures distribution so far. It won't generate for you without tweaking MoC source code, so I'm posting it here in the new format:
A last suggestion: I think using package names is really necessary. Just classname+biome name won't cut it, we'll run into conflicting names way too easily. Plus, package names will really help knowing which mod a biome is from.
Here's the post with the config file for Mo Creatures and Biomes o Plenty, it's on page 29. I'm not sure exactly how to use it, though- the format is much different from the default MSC config files and I'm not sure if it's for a different version or what. Help would be much appreciated.
I've gone through my Entities.txt file and taken some notes. While this isn't a proper config file, it might be useful to people trying to get Divine RPG and Thaumcraft mobs integrated into their world using Mob Spawn Control. I plan on taking this info and building a new SpawnConfiguration.txt file. Once I'm done with it, I'll be sure to share it here.
Oh, and if you have any corrections PLEASE let me know. I've barely scratched the surface here and a lot of these notes are pretty cursory.

Devine RPG Dimensions
These mobs spawn in Divine RPG's various dimensions. These appear to auto -populate when the SpawnConfiguration text file is created, so there may be no need to meddle with any of it. I welcome anyone's thoughts on these though. I've yet to compare them to the pre-generated files.

I get the sense that most of the Arcana mobs are somehow pre-placed or spawned from spawners. No way to know without going there though.

I may get some things wrong, but I'm working on a config right now. I hope to have it done before it gets too late tonight, as I'd actually like to be able to PLAY with it. Once it's finished, I'll post it here for testing, so I can get feedback and make adjustments.
Which leaves the question, what is a Hell Pig?

HellPig - spawns in Nether on soulsand. This is DRPG mob (pet?).
May be, we can divide this work? I want to help you, but i will work on the config only tomorrow - it is 6.00 am here.
Hi! This mod is exactly what I've been looking for. I'm making a haunted house and it would be nice if there weren't creepers or enderman in the way, they don't really fit my idea for the map...
But is it just me, or is the actual mod download not on the first post...? I can't see it! I just see the mods that it is compatible with along with download links to forge and modloader...uhm. I feel pretty stupid for asking especially after reading through EVERYTHING, but I can't see it...help? D; EDIT: Just read a previous post pointing out the link that says FORGE is for the mod, oops xD
Also, if I want this for a server, I'd need forge and not just modloader? Thanks in advance!
Here's a copy of my current SpawnConfiguration, which is set up for ExtrabiomesXL, DivineRPG, Twilight Forest, and Thaumcraft.
I left the default configuration for Twilight Forest and DivineRPG biomes largely untouched. Most of the work here is on Overworld/Nether/End biomes.
Initial observation from (very brief ) testing shows it working as expected. I haven't been to the diamond layer yet, or to other dimensions, so I can't be sure that the various "Spawns below level X" mobs from DivineRPG are spawning correctly.
Additional observations:
Because a Cyclops can spawn in broad daylight, they tend to take over surface in any biome where they're enabled. Shouldn't be a problem as long as they despawn at a decent rate, but I havent tested enough. I toned down their spawn weight and numbers to compensate. Is it possible to move them over to creatures? I remember someone else on this thread saying that you can't put monsters in creatures.
I have NEVER seen a mushroom biome in the ENTIRE time I've played minecraft. At all. To compensate for this, I added Mooshrooms as a rare spawn in swamps.
Speaking of Mushroom Biomes, the default config only allows Mooshrooms to spawn there. I gave the biome the spawns of a swamp, plus common-spawning mooshrooms, rare spawns of regular cows, and common spawns for creepers (Creepers are fungal entities that explode to spread their spores. They show up near you because you carry more spores with every creeper explosion you endure. Now you know.)
I toned down Creeper spawning in all other biomes. They should show up, just uncommon instead of common. I don't want to turn them off completely, but I have gotten a bit sick of dodging them.
I enabled Slime spawning in every biome. I THINK this is the right way to get them to spawn below layer 40 in slime chunks, but again, more testing needed.
I didn't include Villagers, Iron Golems, Witches, Whither Skeletons, naturally spawning Blazes, Silverfish, or Thaumcraft Wisps. I THINK these are all handled by special spawning conditions, but I don't actually know.
Rhaz noted that the "Spawns below X" monsters (caveclops, rotatick, cavecrawler, enthralled dramcryx, the eye) can overwhelm spawns on higher levels, taking over the map. I haven't seen that yet, but observation and testing are definitely needed. For now, I've weighted all of them at 10. One other DivineRPG config I've seen weighted them all at 20 (Twice as common as vanilla mobs). Only extended testing will tell if either of these numbers makes any sense.
I added a bunch of notes to the file about which biome is which .. but the mod rejected that version and replaced it with a default config. To get this config to load, I had to remove all the notes. Pity.
longwing, you are first! Good job, and thank you too.

I enabled Slime spawning in every biome. I THINK this is the right way to get them to spawn below layer 40 in slime chunks, but again, more testing needed.
Yes, I think, it is right way too. I tested spawn of slimes, and they spawn only if:
1) Slimes spawn enabled in this biome in MSC
AND
2) This is a slime chunk or swampland.
I didn't include Villagers, Iron Golems, Witches, Whither Skeletons, naturally spawning Blazes, Silverfish, or Thaumcraft Wisps. I THINK these are all handled by special spawning conditions, but I don't actually know.
All right. If you will enable Witches, they will be spawn such as 'standart' mobs like skeletons. But i didn't check their spawn in swampland houses - i can't find one of them.
Villagers and Iron Golems spawns normally without enabling in MSC. Blazes and Silverfishes based on spawners.
I think, it's possible to exclude some mobs from Minecraft and Divine RPG using MSC_Override; probably, it will prevent errors with their spawn.
Upd 2
I found that squids and bats spawn enabled in DivineRPG biomes by default. I think, it must be disabled.
I'm still looking for help with designing the MSC 2 GUI! And I also need to know if you guys want some new features in MSC2 - spawn controls per dimension and control spawning based on depth. This is currently possible thanks to some new Forge hooks - do you guys want me to implement these new features?
Also note that after looking into it, I have learned that Minecraft ONLY uses the min/max group count numbers when spawning creatures during chunk generation. Would you guys like me to remove the min/max group count numbers? Possibly only leave it in for creatures?

If I didn't have such an obsession with getting the spawn process itself ironed out, I'd be all over more GUI suggestions.
If the min/max only works for chunk generation, then it only works for vanilla creatures (pig, sheep, cow, chicken)? I know of no other mobs that spawn with new chunks. If this is the case, then min/max for only 4 mobs seems like a rarely used feature. Please be 100% certain this is the case before removing it (if you are thinking of removing it).

The config files are your friends! Get to know them, and shape your world!
Hi, Davidee! Thank you for the great mod!
About new GUI:
1) Big buttons for mobs' names. May be, 1 string - 1 button will be good.
2) Slider to scroll list of mobs.
What about mobs' names? If you press button, you see a name different from the name on the button sometimes.
And one suggestion: may be, you will make little program, what will generate DefaultSpawnConfiguration according to mods, chose by player, from the prepared parts? For example, if player checks mods MoCreatures and Biomes'o'Plenty installed, it will take data from prepared configs and make compatible with this mods DefaultSpawnConfiguration?

It only applies to animals (mobs defined as "creature") when generating/populating a new chunk. If you guys want, I can keep the min/max values only in "creatures" definition of each biome and just remove it elsewhere.

Do you guys still want buttons for mobs? Buttons are nice but they take up a lot of space - I was considering doing someone else. And yes, a slider is definitely needed. And MSC2 will have separate configurations for each mod, so that will not be needed.
How about check boxes cause I agree the buttons thing is so 90s. Seriously it's like something you'd see from a old website from that era. The GUI should look professional and easy to navigate.
Hey, i saw a couple of other crash reports here and hope it okay to post mine. I've got Forge, Biomes O'Plenty and AtmosMobs running with 1.4.7. They've all worked just fine but Minecraft crashes whenever i try to load it since i've added MSC.

--- END ERROR REPORT fc8d37a9 ----------
I have Minecraft 1.4.7 with latest Forge for it and pack of many mods, and I have some problems with Mo Creatures (yes, again).
You assume correctly for the first question.
Would be nice if someone has a config to share, as I only see the DRPG mobs automatically set in its own additional biomes by default. All the others are unset it seems. You may want to contact or look for posts from Rhaz, who I know uses MSC and DRPG.
Here's the post with the config file for Mo Creatures and Biomes o Plenty, it's on page 29. I'm not sure exactly how to use it, though- the format is much different from the default MSC config files and I'm not sure if it's for a different version or what. Help would be much appreciated.

These mobs spawn in Divine RPG's various dimensions. These appear to auto -populate when the SpawnConfiguration text file is created, so there may be no need to meddle with any of it. I welcome anyone's thoughts on these though. I've yet to compare them to the pre-generated files.

Will you do config file for ExtraBiomesXL?
I may get some things wrong, but I'm working on a config right now. I hope to have it done before it gets too late tonight, as I'd actually like to be able to PLAY with it. Once it's finished, I'll post it here for testing, so I can get feedback and make adjustments.
HellPig - spawns in Nether on soulsand. This is DRPG mob (pet?).
May be, we can divide this work? I want to help you, but i will work on the config only tomorrow - it is 6.00 am here.
But is it just me, or is the actual mod download not on the first post...? I can't see it! I just see the mods that it is compatible with along with download links to forge and modloader...uhm. I feel pretty stupid for asking especially after reading through EVERYTHING, but I can't see it...help? D;EDIT: Just read a previous post pointing out the link that says FORGE is for the mod, oops xDAlso, if I want this for a server, I'd need forge and not just modloader? Thanks in advance!
Thanks to all of you for passing along the DRPG mob info. It makes for a handy quick-reference when you just need the basics for setup!
I'd like to add a big THANK YOU to x3n0b4t3, Gurrok, and Rhaz for their observations and input.
And now, this is results of my job. I hope, it will be useful. It's list of all DivineRPG entities, generated by MSC by default, with some information:
--------------------------
Ancient - Ancient Entity. Boss, spawn by mysterious clock in overworld.
--------------------------
Cadillion - Dravite Cadillion, Dravite and Azurite. Not hostile.
Cyclops - Cyclops, spawns commonly in groups throughout the overworld (extreme hills, ice plains, plains?). Not hostile.
--------------------------
DivineRPG.Ayeraco Blue - Ayeraco Horde. Boss, spawn in Sky biome by horn.
DivineRPG.Ayeraco Green - Ayeraco Horde. Boss, spawn in Sky biome by horn.
DivineRPG.Ayeraco Purple - Ayeraco Horde. Boss, spawn in Sky biome by horn.
DivineRPG.Ayeraco Red - Ayeraco Horde. Boss, spawn in Sky biome by horn.
DivineRPG.Ayeraco Yellow - Ayeraco Horde. Boss, spawn in Sky biome by horn.

Yes, I think, it is right way too. I tested spawn of slimes, and they spawn only if:
1) Slimes spawn enabled in this biome in MSC
AND
2) This is a slime chunk or swampland.

I found that squids and bats spawn enabled in DivineRPG biomes by default. I think, it must be disabled.
Hey, i saw a couple of other crash reports here and hope it okay to post mine. I've got Forge, Biomes O'Plenty and AtmosMobs running with 1.4.7. They've all worked just fine but Minecraft crashes whenever i try to load it since i've added MSC.
Thanks for any help you can give!
