I actually am coding a new achievement system that will run separately from Minecraft. With it will come an experimental monetary system that will allow you to purchase in game items and special effects.
Could you release a copy that actually doesn't do this, whether by default or through an options config? I feel like it's a step in the wrong direction, personally.

It really will not be hard to do that. Because of the system I am making, I could easily duplicate the custom achievements to make standard Minecraft ones. Then I'll just have two downloads, or make it a config option, of which one you want. Might I ask why you don't like the new system?
Yes, I should be able to make a full index of achievements and their rewards. I may host it here on the forums or on it's own wiki. Not quite sure yet.
Don't ask for when, but I have to make sure there are no crashes. I also have to finish making the shop feature. No promises, but it shouldn't take more than a week to finish.
Well... My common sense says you'll get "points" for completing achievements, then you can use these points to but items.
Right you are. I am putting extra work into making sure the point system will not ruin the game if you are a survival enthusiast, but still adds flavor to the game.

So... will the new achievements system work with other mods (Twilight Forest, for example) that add their own achievments? Also, just personal taste, but I prefer the current look of the achievements window to the one you showed above. Just my opinion.

If it's the graphics you are worried about, you shouldn't. With the current "paged" display there will also be a graphical display for you fanatics. If other mods want to add achievements into my mod they would have to get my API.
Update on the mod: Been busy with school, since my final projects are coming up and I have a lot of work to do. As for modding, I've worked here and there, and I should have a working version of the mod out in a week or so(no telling exactly when).
Anyone who has a graphic design for the mod, PM with it and I will go through the details with you. This is only for people who want to be recognized as awesome, so no noobs...

Can you make it so that this mod integrates with other mods' achievements and completely replaces the entire achievements system? I do not mind you taking so long because you are adding that awesome new content!

Oh, oh. No more buttered scones for me, mater. I'm off to play the grand piano. Pardon me while I fly my aeroplane.

My teachers say there is no such thing as a dumb question. This will prove them wrong.
To actually answer you, yes it will, but winRAR opens zip files, so it is not relative to this forum.

Blarg.
