Ok, I see. But I use a program called SSbump for creating the normal and specular map, if glsl would support Ambient oclusion, i also could do that.
Tomorrow I'll figure it out and i'll try to have a conversation with sildur if he responds me.
Happy 4th of July!
GLSL does support Ambient Occlusion, depending on the shaderpack that you use. I think SEUS, Chocapic, and Sildur all have versions of Ambient Occlusion/Bump/POM in their shaderpacks.
On this note: Death_Dealer, taking out your rage on Karyonix is very immature and un-necessary! His GLSL shaders mod is absolutely amazing, gives an experience to MC unparalleled by any other mod, and works extremely well! He told you multiple times that the texture flipping issue was not caused by his mod, or the shaderpacks -- it is a problem in Minecraft itself. He helped you fix the issue by editing his shaderpack (along with Chocapic). GLSL Shaders does what it's told by a shaderpack. If you don't like it, get permission to make your own shaderpack, and do what you want with it. If this continues, I will report you, show some respect man!
The images I linked above are the bookshelf images (because you mentioned you were having issues with the bookshelf).
The images are:
(The first 3 images) Normal complete bookshelf image with normal & specular maps -- \assets\minecraft\textures\blocks
(The next 4 sets of 3 images) CTM partial bookshelf images with normal & specular maps -- \assets\minecraft\mcpatcher\ctm\bookshelf
(The last file) CTM instruction set for what CTM is supposed to do with all 3 image sets -- I don't think I linked this, sorry!
So, if CTM is disabled, it's only going to use the file in textures\blocks. If CTM is enabled, it will read the bookshelf.properties file, and load up however many images are in the CTM folder (in this case \mcpatcher\ctm\bookshelf) and we have 4 images. It may flip or rotate the CTM images, not sure, I've never looked at a bookshelf that close to see if any of the books are vertical instead of horizontal.
Your sand, however, looks very good! Subtle, but it looks good :)!
I'm curious though, your _S file is greyscale, but mine is green. I'm curious the difference. Death_Dealer does not use specular in his resource pack at all, so, I can't even check how he has his configured (and here I thought it was the specular image that gives POM depth?). I may have to fire up SSbump to see how it all works in more depth.
ShadersMod is not made with MCPatcher in mind. I don't think it is compatible.
Not all of Optifine features have been taken care of eg. animation, connected texture, natural texture.
The existing POM implementation doesn't support flipped or rotated texture. Just keep them flat for now.
POM is only good for small surface details. It doesn't look good or it will be slow if you try to change block shape too much.
I think I have an idea of how I should edit the bookshelf.properties:
First when loading tile 0,1,2 or 3 it needs to load the set of images. For 0 it will be 0_n and 0_s, for 1 it'll be 1_n and 1_s, etc.
I should try it but I don't know how to program properties. Here is the code if someone can help me:
Here is my bookshelf.properties file from John Smith:
tiles=0-3
method=bookshelf
Here is my bookshelf.properties file from Ovos Rustic Redemption:
# Converted from /ctm.png and /ctm.png
# Individual tiles are in /ctm/default
#Thu Mar 14 06:21:31 EDT 2013
connect=block
tiles=1-4
matchBlocks=47
method=bookshelf
Have you tried any other shaderpacks to see if you get better support for POM/Bump textures?
Do your normal & specular maps work for everything else aside from the bookshelf?
Plus, as Karyonix mentioned, CTM support is provided by Optifine (and MCPatcher, but OF can do it), so that will need to be installed.
You can test by renaming the CTM folder to anything else (cctm for example) and see if it works then.
Look. All the mapping I've done has worked but all the images that are in CTM file do not load, even the starting texture like the top of a cake (the texture with the red dots is the texture from minecraft but id doesn't load). Not even the starting texture of the bookshelf.
But I must try optifine.
Ok, I gotcha. Everything in the textures folder is loading, but the files in the CTM folder aren't (so pieces are missing).
If you aren't using Optifine, than that may be your fix.
Optifine is what loads the CTM files, they will be ignored if only GLSL Shaders are installed.
By the way, how do you install Optifine with MCPatcher and shaders without crashing the client? XD
You are using 1.7.2/1.7.4/1.7.5/1.7.10?
You aren't supposed to use MCPatcher and Forge/GLSL/Optifine together... I didn't even think that MCPatcher and Forge were compatible...
In 1.7.2/1.7.10 just drop the Optifine and GLSL JAR files into the mods folder (in Forge).
In 1.7.4/1.7.5 just run the Optifine installer first, and then the GLSL installer second.
NOPE. Not working with Optifine only but the connected textures work at least.
I use 1.7.10, Forge 10.13.0.1160 and GLSL 2.3.12_1040
Optifine alone will not work, you need to drop the Optifine 1.7.10 Ultra A2 file into the mods folder along with GLSL 2.3.12 so that they all work together.
Optifine only handles the CTM (among other things), you still need the Shaders to do Normal & Specular maps.

Yes, you miss understood me. I have Optifine, GLSL and Forge, but before if I had MCPatcher with Optifine and GLSL, Minecraft Crashed.
That's correct. Optifine and MCPatcher will not work together (MCPatcher isn't supposed to work with Forge either).
Ok, so, CTM is working now with Optifine and GLSL, but you are still not loading textures / normal / speculars properly?
Yes, I know that it is not crashing, the log that is created is from Forge. It tells us how your MC loaded, whether there were errors, whether the shaderpack has problems, etc. We need to see it to properly diagnose.
It even tells us the video card in your computer that it is using.
If you click start -> rt-click computer -> lt-click properties, click on device manager, click the > or + beside 'display adapters'. Can you tell us what device(s) are listed there please?
Then dbl-click on the device(s), go to the drivers tab. Can you tell us the driver version that is listed. We should be able to figure out if it is old or new and help you.
(couldn't post the log, forum wouldn't let me)
Intel(R) HD Graphics Family
Version 8.15.10.2430
Your log is cut off though.. I don't think it's paste.ee doing it, I think MC exited pre-maturely, and we didn't get the error.
Can you fire up Minecraft, select a shaderpack (Sildur's Basic for example - work great with Intel), load a world, save and quit, and then exit Minecraft. After this, post the log again, it should be complete.
The instructions for installing the above drivers are in the first post on page 379.
i think i found the problem. i can only choose shaders from the title screen. if i switch them out midgame, everything goes weird.
I don't want to distribute the old form of the mod (edited classes) anymore. So when the file host take them down, I don't reupload them. I may rewrite/update old-version mod for use with the new Minecraft launcher if I have time.

Does anyone know if its still possible to manually install the mods? Asking as I would like to have both Optifine and Forge running for 1.7.10.
I ran the optifine installer which is fine but when I run the Forge installed it installs itself on the clean 1.7.10, not the optifine one. I did rename the optifine one in the hopes that forge would install itself which it did but that just crashes Minecraft.
1.45.2 works with everything but SEUS v10.0+, but you have a working IC2/Railcraft/Buildcraft
2.00 is built off of 1.46 so it supports SEUS v10.0+, but the above mods do not work
Requires Forge or FML.
Download Forge 1.7.10-Latest installer from files.minecraftforge.net. (or 10.13.0.1160 if latest does not work)
Recent change
- Added shadersmod log file.
- Fixed texture glitch in rendering of ProjectRed lamp halo (mc1.7.2).
How to install
First, install forge.
- Use Minecraft Launcher. Make sure you have run Minecraft 1.7.10 at least once before installing Forge.
- Close Minecraft Launcher.
- Use Forge installer to install Forge.
- Open Minecraft Launcher and select Forge Profile (or new/edit profile and select a forge version).
- Click Play. Forge should create mods folder in game directory.
Next, install ShadersMod in mods fodler.
- Copy ShadersMod jar file to mods folder in game directory, so it will be loaded by Forge next time.
- If you want to install this together with OptiFine, also copy Optifine jar file to mods folder.
Test.
- Open Minecraft Launcher. Select Forge profile and click Play.
- Open Option screen. There should be Shaders button. Click it to open Shaders screen.
You also need shaderpack for use with this mod.
- Download and copy shaderpack zip file to shaderpacks folder in minecraft folder.
- You can select shaderpack in Shaders screen.
I am having a pretty bad issue. I don't know if it's from my installation or not, but this is how I set it up. I downloaded Forge Mod Loader(The latest version for 1.7.10) and ran it. I then put the shaders mod .jar into my mods folder and the SEUS shaderpack into the shaderspack folder. The thing is, when I run the game it loads up fine and all of the effects seem to work perfectly, except for the fact that certain chunks simply refuse to load(from bedrock up, leaving giant holes in my map. Most of it is non-existent). I can move around and interact with the loaded portions, but no matter how long I wait or leave it paused to load, they do not. I have also tried creating a new map and running it, but less of the map loads.

You may have to play with the Advanced OpenGL settings (change it to OFF).
Else, install Optifine as well, and you can use Fast/Fancy Advanced OpenGL, and any of the Chunk Loading settings (as long as if you are using multi-core you setup the 'threaded optimization' as instructed on the Optifine thread).

Sorry, I couldn't reply because I was on holidays.
Normal maps and Specular maps do not load from CTM, even the N & S Map from the blocks foder.
No problem, hope you had a good vacation!
So, you don't get any Normal or Specular maps at all (not even the textures/blocks folder)?
Or just the CTM Normal or Specular maps?
What shaderpack are you using, still Karyonix bump-shadow-waving?
Another quick question, if you don't mind. It seems I can only run Forge OR Optifine, as when I run forge there are no Optifine setting and vice-versa. How would I run both simultaneously?
.
GLSL does support Ambient Occlusion, depending on the shaderpack that you use. I think SEUS, Chocapic, and Sildur all have versions of Ambient Occlusion/Bump/POM in their shaderpacks.

A fix may have been requested earlier, but i'm not scrolling through 392 pages to find it
That's because "hotfile.com" doesn't exist anymore, or is broken. Very old version though, good luck finding someone who has it.
