I pretty much have four different profiles: One for Optifine 1.11.2, one for Forge 1.11.2 one for the most recent version of Shadersmod 1.11.2 and the vanilla Minecraft version 1.11.2. You say that I can just delete shadersmodcore and use Optifine instead, but how would I go about doing that? I've been using the Contunuum shaders pack with shadersmod, but I really would like to be able to use it in conjunction with Forge. Would I be able to do that with Optifine? Also, if I just launch Optifine without deleting shadersmod it reverts to Minecraft's vanilla graphics. Sorry if I inconvenience you, it's just that I'm not used to modding Minecraft yet. (Though modding Bethesda games was a pain in the ass as well.)
Nevermind then, after 30 minutes of research I found out that you have to load the Forge profile, but extract Optifine's JAR file to the mod folder in the .minecraft folder. Interesting.

Just drop the optifine jar into your mods folder and load your forge profile.
I'm using OptiFine HD D6 Ultra and Chocapic13's High/Ultra/Extreme shaders.
I made a map and while Chocapic's shaders were active, it glitched out and was unreadable (see first attached image). Switching the shaders off made it usable (second image).
hi I'm using ShadersMod v2.6.1 [/b]for Minecraft 1.11.2 and I can run shaders on singleplayer but when I try to go on multiplayer my game crashes and it shows an error report:
The game crashed whilst rendering entity in world
Error: java.lang.NullPointerException: Rendering entity in world
I'm confused, the front page lists 1.11.2 as "Not compatible with Forge, Optifine". Does this mean the mod is not compatible with forge OR Optifine, or that it is not compatible with forge, but requires Optifine?

it's not compatible with optifine as optifine now has it's own shaders engine built in.

But most of the Mod versions of MC remain at 1.7.10,such as optifine,fastcraft and so on.Except FORGE still stays at 1614 version,but that's no big deal.
I hope you can continue to update the version of Shaders Mod in MC1.7.10
Because the current version of Shaders Mod in MC1.7.10 is no longer compatible with the most basic MOD:OPTIFINE and fastcraft
I believe there are still a lot of players still playing MC1.7.10.Shaders Mod is a crucial and indispensable MOD for me (for everyone)

Whenever I use this core Shader mod it messes up my skin.
Im using ShadersModCore-v2.3.31-mc1.7.10-f, with Forge10.13.4.1614-1.7.10
and OptiFine_1.7.10_HD_U_D6
I used to only use Optifine D7 (without shader core mod) but I had to downgrade to Optifine D6 cause another mod is not compatible with it the D7.
Yes, remove the shaderdsmodcore.
Remove optifine.
Install this version of Optifine instead:

You dont need the shadersmodcore anylonger.
Only Optifine to run shaders.

The problem is that I've found OptiFine causes a lot problems with modpacks, and as much as I like OF, I've been trying to not use it.
I want to get optifine source code... Sad this impossible, but Optifine can lit Light for my ray tracer.
