Can you please update to 1.7.4 or 1.7.5? People want to stream with the new minecraft update the f6 stream button or whatever it is, but better sprinting is only for 1.7.2.
The mod can only work with 1.7.2 and 1.7.10 (Forge version only). MCP doesn't support 1.7.4/1.7.5.
Hey, I want to download BSM for 1.7.2, and use magic launcher with it.
I'm on a mac.
I don't want to use forge as it always makes me crash, and was wondering which download will actually give me a .jar or .zip file without needing forge?
I've tried 2 but they just give me a folder, and when I compress it the zip file gives 'no mods found' in MagicLauncher..
Any help?
People have had issues with the default archiving software on mac, use a different one.
Regarding 1.7.10
I will try to get the jar version updated to 1.7.10 today or tomorrow, depends on time. The Forge version should work just fine, I haven't had any feedback on bugs or crashes with that but I will test it thoroughly just to be completely sure and fix any issues I find.
Something important you should know is, that the jar version is no longer going to be updated past 1.8 and only the Forge version will stay updated. The reason for that is, that Forge is vastly superior to jar mods in many ways - I think the fact that the 1.7.2 version of the mod works in 1.7.10 is enough of an argument on its own, but apart from that, it also allows people to create massive modpacks with literally hundreds of mods running at the same time (try that with jar mods, no chance) and installing Forge version of Better Sprinting takes about 10 seconds.
If you only used the jar versions so far, I suggest you move to Forge or whenever 1.8 comes out, start searching for an alternative to Better Sprinting, assuming one exists. Sorry, but I make mods for fun, and updating jar mods isn't fun for me, especially considering something like Forge speeds up the workflow marginally.
Better Sprinting - jar version has been updated to MC 1.7.10
For users of Forge version, 1.7.2 version appears to work fine on 1.7.10 so I added a note to the download section.
As for the jar version update, there's not much new - I fixed a bug that made the option to disable the mod still keep new sprint hold key mechanics, so now if you disable the mod, all sprinting should work just like in vanilla.
I also updated the main post with new terms of use, so make sure to read them. The main post should also be a bit more organized. Sorry for the wait though, I would however like to remind you to read the post above, as jar versions are being discontinued after 1.8, and only Forge versions will stay updated ;).
As i said i followed this tutorial but in the part 5 "nd put theBetterSprinting.jar file into the mods folder" i don't have any .jar file i just got a .zip with blk.class blj.class bdw.class and bdw$GuiSprint.class
"How to install 1.7.2 or newer (forge)"
Either download the Forge version, or read the jar tutorial.
I'm going to have a look at Agrarian Skies and I definately want to use Better Sprinting with the pack. But I'm encountering problems now, maybe someone can help
I use "BetterSprinting_1.6.4_Forge_v11.jar" and put it into the mod pack via FTB launcher. First it didn't work because I put just the zip in - it has to be the extracted jar file or all the stuff in a zip file, but not a jar inside a zip. So I solved the first issue and it does indeed load and it also works (double tapping is off and sprint key is LCtrl.
But now I want to remap the sprint key to LShift and generally it would be nice to have access to the controls settings page, but the button is gone as there's another list in the controls menu that opens several mod's controls settings, but the Better Sprinting interface isn't even in the Minecraft menu where it is without a truckload of other mods.
So I could use one of these things now:
1. Just a command that I can hack into the trusty console to open the dialogue
or
2. Knowledge of which mod is responsible for the controls "super menu", so I can temporarily remove to to access Better Sprinting nemu and do my changes. I don't want to try out removing 111 mods one by one until I find this out...
or
3. A way to do the keybindings and settings by hand via editing some files
or
4. A version of Better Sprinting that is compatible with that controls menu and 1.6.4 as I don't know whether more recent versions changed anything or if they even run on 1.6.4 + Forge
Is anything of this possible? I'd appreciate any help
Rebind every key binding that uses O to something else and then press O ingame.

Hi, can anyone here tell me how to get the Sprinting [Toggled] thing on my screen when I have it toggled on? Ive seen a few youtubers with this... please help. thanks
This mod mad me rage recently, Every Time i restarted minecraft, the keys I use would revert back to there default version. I finally understood why the keys weren't sticky to the key I assigned. I refer to this key as the "dead key" and I usually assign all the functions from mods I don't want to use to this dead key. Its the numpads "/" button. I use the toggle function with my r key, and have optifine installed, so when i would zoom my sprint would get untoggled which would result in untimely deaths. The damn keys all have to have a key, so now I have to have more dead keys, which I want to use. Is there anyway to disable this unfortunate feature? - Maybe make the ingame config screen work how the default vanilla screen works, with reset buttons and everything >.>

You can use ingameinfoxml to display a message when when it detects a keypress, you can also do this with the macro and keybind mod very simple
