the server didnt have the mod installed. that's what freaked me out so much.
i was seeing my guy wearing boots that didnt exist on the server.
other players couldn't see anything obviously though.
That is how a server works. You are going to be able to see those items because YOUR client has the mod, but those items will have NO effect on the server, others won't be able to see boots/items etc., and may even CRASH the server. This mod was NOT at ALL designed for multiplayer in any way shape or form, so don't use it on a server, just ignore the items.

This mod is outstanding! I was thinking because of all the possibilities of directions this mod could go in you should create a poll on the post asking people what they want to see in the next update! (I know you already have things planned for this next update) but I think that it would help to have.
Doesn't the next minecraft update include a forge programed into the game?
Yea, I've been hearing about an official modding API, the merging of single and multiplayer was a step closer to it but I haven't heard what update it will be in.

Yes, and no. It wont be "FORGE" in the game, and it won't have all the databases of items that forge currently has, and may or may not have certain features that forge does. There is an official API coming up for probably 1.4, but we don't really know much about it. Jeb has stated that the main reason for the API is so that modders don't have to modify main class files already in minecraft.
That being said, I will probably wait for the API to be released, because forge will most likely have major issues when the API is released.

I'm going to HAVE to go to forge, some of the things I would like to do require it (at least to be anywhere near simple... D:)

I looked at it... should be working. Did you try the alternate?
I guess when I posted that, my internet was being all weird and stuff.
