The time has come to move on. The time has come for the end of the mod.
With the growing hate for non-forge mods I can not conceivably continue to work on this project.
Also, with absolutely no indication from Mojang that they have any plans to fix or improve villages or villager behavior (AI) I can see no reason to continue this project. Even though tens of thousands of people show interest in the subject of villages and villagers expanding, nothing has been changed since villages were first introduced way back in beta. Villages are not the only structures to be seemingly forgotten...
Anyway, thank you all for the past support, I am unemployed and must concentrate on my own life and well being at the moment. My family must come first, so I bid you all good farewell and bless you.

August: NO forge. I REPEAT! No forge version. Unless someone else does it. I do not have the time.

Update to Minecraft 1.6.2 is available!
With the recent zombie infiltration the villagers have decided to expand into new territories.
This mod allows villages to generate in all major biomes. Forest, Extreme Hills, Jungle, Taiga, Swamp, Ice Plains, and of course the normal Plains and Desert.
Now that the villagers have had time to get more familiar with newly discovered regions, they have started upgrading their buildings with new materials! Forests, Extreme Hills, Jungles, and Taigas buildings have all taken on new looks. No new buildings yet, that is to come perhaps. But enjoy the new look and feel of villages everywhere.
Please do backups before trying any new mods.
*Note: New villages will only appear in new chunks. Old chunks (from existing worlds) will remain unchanged. So travel, or start a new world to see the new look of the villages.*
I'm including three downloads, a "Normal" version, a "Medium" version, and a "Extreme" version. The "Normal" version is default minecraft spawning. The "Medium" version has double the chance as "Normal", and the "Extreme" version has double the chance as "Medium". The "Extreme" version is mainly for fun and testing.
Client and Server - Install in the .jar file. For minecraft 1.6.x if you are using the launcher the install directions have changed check here for a brief on how to mod your minecraft now: http://www.minecraft...ng-mods-in-161/

Village Logic Add-on!!
(April, 2013)
Have you ever wanted an underground village? Do you hate that mountain overhangs can make doors invalid? Well worry no longer! With this insanely awesome add-on doors no longer need any line of sight to a skyblock!
That's right! Now you can build a village anywhere and have valid doors the villagers will use. There is only two things you need to remember:
1. A placed door must have at least two air blocks behind it before the villagers will consider it a home.
2. Have fun!
Example use of this new add-on?
Better control of your villagers population. Want one huge building for your villagers, but only one visible door? Hide the other doors underground!
Amazing idea! If only Minecraft had villages in all biomes. For jungle, forest, taiga, and swamp (the usual 'tree' biomes), you should make the village so that the trees to not interfere. (not that the hills wont) This will make it much easier for larger villages in these biomes.
Hey man, you might wan't to fix your mod. Please take note that I'm trying my best to not get angry but your mod just deleted my level.dat file making it impossible to open my world. What i did was open it to LAN then restart mine craft please look into fixing it so other people do not have this issue. I'm not positive that it was your mod that did it but it happened just after installing it. But i do like the idea of this mod

This mod only modifies one line of code. It is impossible that installing this mod could delete the level.dat file. Either you ran into another minecraft bug, or another mod failed somehow.
As usual, always backup before trying any new mod or minecraft version update.

I was running nothing but your mod it is possible it is a bug, Iv never backed up my worlds this is my first time having one delete itself.
Thanks for the quick response though, :/

You need to get into the habit of backing up your worlds. Not only is it helpful if you run into problems with a mod, it can help deal with problems of the nature of getting some very bad luck with a creeper destroying pure diamond gear or such.
Its fine, managed to restore the world by putting the region folder into another world, It worked so my hours upon hours of building is restored but everything on me is gone, which is no problem. I never had a world corrupt or delete and i have been playing since alpha, I back up most of my server worlds but never backed up my single player. Overall problem is resolved got my world back AND i will actually be able to use this mod now
Could you please add a list of the village differences for each biome? Also, whats the percentage difference between normal and extreme? Maybe have a config file for adjustability.
And if possible, make sure it is modloader compatible (doesn't have to be dependant), just because of other mods.
Materials used in each biome: I'll add these to the main post soon. I never thought about it.
Modloader/FML - I have to do research. Yes, I myself want it modloader/FML compatible, but I've never used these so I have lots of reading ahead.

Cool Mod
Thanks for the shout out video. Pretty neat seeing your own mod in a spot light. Sweet.
