Ahh .. I see the issue. They do exist, they just have no image (completely transparent). It's more than likely an item ID conflict. Are you running this on a server? If so, maybe the client doesn't have the same config as the server?
EDIT: On second thought after looking at your config file - I think it would be easier to delete your config file. Startup minecraft and have a new config file generated. More than likely, it will fail due to item ID conflicts with your other mods. That's fine. After it crashes (or opens), shut down minecraft. Compare the new config file against your working 5.7.x config file and update the IDs to what you used to have.
Do not assign any item the item ID of your former UE cables. The item no longer exists. If you try assigning the old Item ID to the Basic UE cable, I think that you may have issues when loading your old world file. So, I suggest not using it at all and choose 4 new unused item IDs for the 4 new versions of UE cable. When finished, go into the game and put down the new version of the UE cable.
I was a little frustrated by some of the changes as well, but I am only upgrading in anticipation to a Minecraft 1.7.x update. BC has a beta out for 1.7.2 and IC2e just started to commit their 1.7.x changes to the jenkins server. So, we are getting closer.
OK. This is totally strange, but here it goes. I just went back from 6.0.1.13 to 5.7.0.8 and all of the cables that are supposed to be in the new version are in 5.7.0.8. I'm totally confused. Also, when I deleted the config, reloaded the game and double checked the config, there is still no mention of the universal cables in that config either. I think I've given up on trying to figure it out. All I know is that it is working and I'm happy.
But i don't find the ids for the ores or ingots, all i can found its: OreBlock: 0 and Ingot: 0 (I changed it to 0)
I have Mekanism 5.7.0.11, i cant play the new version.
That's strange. I just looked and didn't see ore configs for them either. I don't know what to say now. O_o

To make sure that I wasn't going crazy - I looked it up in game and then cross referenced to the config file.
So, apparently the cables aren't called cables in the config file. Instead, the basic Universal cable is actually MultipartTransmitter. The Advanced, Elite and Ultimate use the same item ID, but with meta data. So, for example, my Basic UE cable is 11203. This means my advanced is 11203:1, elite is 11203:2 and ultimate is 11203:3. So, you will only find the basic UE in the config file as MultipartTransmitter.
Where can I find Mekanism Induction for v6.x? Or works the v6 Mekanism with the old Induction 5.7?
From what I understand, they have supposedly done away with Mekanism Induction. I don't know why. Maybe if you go to Aidancbrady's Twitter page and ask him there you'll get a better answer.

ACB has finally made good on his threat to put the dev builds and changelog behind a paywall. Everybody gets to do what they want, but let me toss out a couple points:
The dev version, before it was paywalled, had useful information in the changelog. Many updates to the digital miner, some machines, etc. The "release" version has "fixed some stuff". How is that helpful.
Despite claims to the contrary, even though the dev builds "may" include some new content at some point they are most surely bug fixes to the release versions which could provide working mod versions to people days before (at a minimum) the release shows up.
Might be time to petition someone to toss the Mekanism github into their Jenkins setup. I'd step up, but I'm already giving away 1.5T/month of data with textures and servers.

PlowmanPlow, why are you so upset about this? To think you have the nerve to request the making of a third-party jenkins just for the dev builds, and state it here on my post...I don't get it. You state that they include fixes, and this is very true. This is why I have pushed out two major release versions in the past week. I will always push a release if there are fixes ready for issues. However, new content will continue to be developed in the development branch.
I have created a changelog on the download page that includes a summary of all release information. It's updated automatically whenever a release is pushed. If, however, someone does decide to make a third-party jenkins system, I will be forced to make development a separate closed-source job for the same reasons I put on my blog post. Note that Thermal Expansion functions in the same way (with a closed development branch), aside from the fact that its main branch is closed source as well. Please don't make me restrict the development any further!

I was thinking about this recently and I don't have any issue with how you're asking for donation. I think its a pretty decent deal when you look at most dev's patreon pages and rewards system. $10 bucks for an entire year of early access is in no way a rip off. Plus I don't see where you would have any motivation to keep bugfixes from public release. It'd be very counterproductive since the majority of users would not have access to the fixes and people would eventually associate Mekanism as being "that buggy mod." No mod dev would want a buggy version of their mod out there representing them. I'm fairly new to this thread so correct me if I'm wrong, but the source is fully open and available to the public free of charge. Does that not mean that if someone wanted to they could compile the source for themselves to use privately straight from github? Even if that isn't the case, I still think your ten dollar fee is a good offer and were I not entirely pennyless at the moment, I would gladly take the offer.
All in all, I feel modders are generally unappreciated and people seem rather ungrateful for the time and effort they put in to make such an awesome product available to gamers for no charge. Donation are an excellent way to express gratitude for a dev's work and if they wish to offer early access dev builds as an incentive for doing that then I think we should be thankful. We have no inherent right to early access builds at all thinking otherwise comes off rather entitled. That's the end of my mini rant. I think the community as a whole has some issues with entitlement and treatment of devs that has really been coming to the surface lately, especially after the whole EULA debacle. I thank you Aidan for making such an awesome mod and look forward to the new features that are coming. I really like the direction Mekanism is going lately.
ACB has finally made good on his threat to put the dev builds and changelog behind a paywall.
Threat? Since when has anything been threatened?
Aidan made quite clear the reasons for restricting access to things, and none of those reasons were to threaten anyone.
In my eyes, this'll be a boon to Mekanism development more than anything, as it means less inexperienced people posting the same crash bugs over and over from trying to use incomplete or broken features taking development time away from Aidan to have to address them repeatedly.
The dev version, before it was paywalled, had useful information in the changelog. Many updates to the digital miner, some machines, etc. The "release" version has "fixed some stuff". How is that helpful.
The dev version, before it was 'paywalled' had the same updates that the mainline branch did. Aidan is very quick about pushing bugfixes to the main branch, and very responsive to getting those bugs fixed and pushed out. Some of the people in the community found fairly extensive issues with the resource usage of the digital miner, and he completely rewrote the logic behind it in just a couple days and pushed it into a release to help correct the issue. Does that REALLY sound like someone who would withhold important fixes for ??? reasons? Your logic makes zero sense.
Despite claims to the contrary, even though the dev builds "may" include some new content at some point they are most surely bug fixes to the release versions which could provide working mod versions to people days before (at a minimum) the release shows up.
The dev builds include both new content and bugfixes, because... you know... you have to DEVELOP the fix before you can release it. If it's not ready to release, because it's not a complete fix, it will stay in the development branch. If it is ready to release, it'll be pushed to the release branch, because... well... it fixes bugs. This is how development works. Congratulations on understanding the basic concept.
This illustrates quite clearly the situation Aidan is trying to avoid. Inexperienced people seeing something about 'fixes' in the changelog, assuming it'll completely fix their issue despite the fact that its in the DEVELOPMENT branch, and then complaining and/or creating new issues that provide no valuable input when it doesn't work. It serves to lower the signal to noise ratio so he can actually see the real bugs in the release version and address them without having to sift through reports for issues he already knows about in the development version.
Might be time to petition someone to toss the Mekanism github into their Jenkins setup. I'd step up, but I'm already giving away 1.5T/month of data with textures and servers.
Or... You know... If you REALLY want access to the dev version that much... You could spend a tiny one-time fee, get a cool cape and get dev version access, rather than relying on your sense of entitlement and getting someone else to pay for a third party build service to circumvent Aidan for no good reason.
But, you know, lets cause pointless drama that has no real justification at all because someone put their toys away and you're upset because you wanted to play with them.

If TE3 is overpowered for you, don't bother with this.
Also funny how you think TE3 is overpowered where Tcon is basicly a middle finger to all vanilla tools as its 10x as good.
Wonder if anyone can help. Updated my pack with V6, tested all fine on single player, then updated my server.
Everything looked fine until I visited my Digital Miner. This has now turned into a big block of default textures, and a messed up block name.
Couldn't pick up this big pink/black blob, so tried pickaxing it. One corner broke, then crashed my client.
On reload, cannot now load my world, instant crash.
Nothing should have changed (as far as I'm aware) on the digital miner.
Restoring my world from a backup should fix things, but would still leave me with this problem with the digital miner.

Seriously though, I did look at TE3 and Mekanism and they do have potentials. For me, I am left feeling quite overwhelmed and I'm not too anxious to get that technical. Tcon is a nice middle of the road type mod, for me. I am considering Metallurgy, though.
Thanks for the reply and input. I'll probably poke my head in here and see how things are going. I do agree the Digital Miner is a nice alternative to strip mining.

I'd actually prefer to see the development version completely removed from a public jenkins, but stay on GitHub. Modify the license to not allow people to publicly distribute a compiled version of the code. Why? Because those of us that have any productive feedback already know how to download and compile the source. Also, a lot of people don't understand the concept of what a development branch is and complain (unproductively) how it destroyed their world or isn't working and how it sucks.
People should not think that the development branch fixes issues that the production build has. If there is a critical fix, any decent mod author will patch the production code after the hotfix has been tested. The problem with the assumption that the development branch will included necessary fixes that are not yet in the release - doesn't take into account for the unfinished features that haven't been put into release yet, that can cause additional issues.
I'm okay with the pay wall only because I will never use it. If I donate, it wouldn't be to do something I can already accomplish on my own through GitHub. It would be because out of appreciation to the author.
Guess I was just in the mood to jump on my high horse whether I had any justification or not. And I can't "make" anyone do anything. Everybody gets to make their own choices. What gets me up in a bunch I suppose is inconsistencies. How can one make their code licensed on a (practically speaking) "do anything you want" model then get upset by what anyone might potentially do with it. One could get all uber creative and distribute a fancy program that you just run and it retrieves, compiles and outputs a "dev" build. That person wouldn't be me, but it wouldn't be that difficult.
I don't expect folks to agree with my opinion and encourage anyone to give all things critical thought and make their own. When it comes to things like this I see things pretty black and white. Either one does something for passion and a sense of community or one can do something to turn make money (and still be passionate and community driven). I APPLAUD both of those and encourage them, but don't see a lot of middle ground. If something is made private because one doesn't want to be hassled by idiots (of which I could easily be one, I have no illusions) then go for it and I'll probably think that's a great idea. To do so and then say "anyone who floats me a sum that wouldn't buy a good martini gets back on the horse" seems disingenuous and inconsistent. If that puts me on the wrong side of the fence then I'll pull up a chair, wave at y'all while sipping my mediocre martini.
All in all, I feel modders are generally unappreciated and people seem rather ungrateful for the time and effort they put in to make such an awesome product available to gamers for no charge.
Well stated. I have some high respect for ACB's coding abilites, his system design abilities and his ability to manage a project of this breadth and depth while keeping it relevant, consistent and balanced. I don't know that I could point to a mod that has always shown such clear vision in design and integration. I do this kind of stuff for a living and believe me, the folks that can pull it off are few and far between. I also respect the commitment to his decisions and HIS plan for HIS mod. Me voicing my opinion or taking a stance has no bearing on that.
Any statements about someone hosting a build server were not intended to be disrespectful. The MIT license the source is published under can be summarized as "you can do whatever you want as long as you include the original copyright". Even I can reasonably interpret ACB's admonition that he doesn't want people to do that. Out of respect for his wishes anything I put together wouldn't be "publicly" available even though the chosen license does not prohibit such.
I'll continue sipping my martini by myself since it's pretty clear I'm in the minority.
That's strange. I just looked and didn't see ore configs for them either. I don't know what to say now. O_o
If Minecraft were real, you'd be a zombie right now.
From what I understand, they have supposedly done away with Mekanism Induction. I don't know why. Maybe if you go to Aidancbrady's Twitter page and ask him there you'll get a better answer.
If Minecraft were real, you'd be a zombie right now.
I can't believe I only just found this.
I am so not in the "Now"
It's a separate mod again.
http://calclavia.com/resonant-induction/
How is this for my style of play? I am currently using Minecraft 1.6.5 and have the following mods:
Tinker's Construct
Bibliocraft
Mo' Creatures
ExtraBiomesXL
Natura
HarvestCraft
CraftGuide
Underground Biomes Construct
Zan's Minimap
I'm experimenting with Thermal Expansion 3 and it feels too overpowered for me. I'm not playing on a server.
I'd appreciate some feedback; as I am interested in making mining easier and better managing my warehouse inventory.

First off, put that in a spoiler please. Terrible etiquette not to. Here's the format...
There are no extra pieces in the universe. Everyone is here because he or she has a place to fill, and every piece must fit itself into the big jigsaw puzzle.
-Deepak Chopra
Alright, lets hear'm.
Or...
Its a tech mod, simple as that
If TE3 is overpowered for you, don't bother with this.
Also funny how you think TE3 is overpowered where Tcon is basicly a middle finger to all vanilla tools as its 10x as good.

Tcon is a middle finger?? I never thought of that one.
Ever onward, ever forward for stories to share on my site, Inspiration Point
Be well, enjoy MCing, love life.
