Yeah, did that and it did not work initially. As I said in the edit to my last post MultiMC was using an older version of java from somewhere and I had to manually set it to use the latest version. Once I did that it gave me no trouble.
I've got a question about power generation/transfer and usage.
Here's my setup; I have two solar generators (advanced solar generators are next on my to-do list) which according to their UI are outputting 40RF/t each. They are connected by Basic Universal Cables to a Basic Energy Cube and then through more Basic Universal Cables to an Enrichment Chamber and an Energised Smelter. The Chamber and Smelter have some Energy Upgrades in them.
The setup looks like the diagram attached.
According to the readouts on the Chamber and Smelter, they require 26.67 + 47.42 RF/t = 74.09 RF/t. The two Solar Generators should be making 80RF/t, so the Energy Cube should be storing the excess energy. However, that's not hapening, the cube is draining, then the internal buffers on the machines are draining, and the machines are going at a crawl as a result.
What have I missed? Where is the "extra" power going? The cables should be able to push through the power from two Solar Generators with no issue (wiki says they can handle 1280 RF/t, way more than the Generators are making.
There are no extra pieces in the universe. Everyone is here because he or she has a place to fill, and every piece must fit itself into the big jigsaw puzzle.

Updated it. Startup crash. Logs on your bug reports part of the site.
Initial 'solution' offered is way too overwhelming.
Too bad. Now I was about to enjoy the new toys Aidan created... I'm getting "Shutting down internal server" right away when I try to create a new world. Or "fluidRegistry" error if I try to open an existing world.
Update forge to at least 1448. 1448 has been the recommended forge version for awhile now.
I've been using dev builds of Mekanism and not once have I had any fluidRegistry issues
FML #1481 seems to work fine for all mods i can find so far, instance is 253 mods and (always) growing.

Bump? I don't know if I need to upgrade my cables, or storage, or energy upgrades, or what. I still can't figure out why a system that is supposed to be generating 80RF/t and using 74RF/t is draining itself.
Not a stupid question but I should have said Yep, it was during full sun, no rain. I'm not in a Desert Biome, either (I think that matters?)
Ah, so the readout that says 40RF/t is a little misleading. At 20RF/t each clearly the system is using more power than they're generating. That would explain it, thanks!
I have last version of Mekanism. Electrolytic separator with both tanks set to dump and all speed and energetic upgrades consume over 40000 RF/t. I think this is bug. Or is not?
maybe it's switching on and off extremely rapidly, i think it just has a processing cost, but usually you don't dump both because then you're only voiding power anyway, it might allow for fastest throughput.

I wouldn't set both tanks to dump - I'd save the excess gas as much as I could - or convert to liquid with another mod to save for later.

i often wind up buffering it along the gas lines personally is a good compromise, if you can get the right ratio it should work indefinitely, just adding to your post here.

isn't there a gaseous and fluid for most now i thought? there's a mekanism machine that will turn it from one to the other i used in the past.

I'm having problems with the Logistical Sorter in the most recent version of Mekanism. If I setup a simple pipe system with just one line of pipes to a chest the sorter will only send out items that have a filter. I'm trying to get everything pumped out, not just items with a filter. I have auto-eject on but that makes no difference. I tried flagging all items black and making the end tube black and that didn't do it either.
Is this function broken in this version or am I doing it wrong?
yeah, now the more accurate name is the gas waste of space generator.
i remember when you gained something from crafting a generator, those were nicer times.

Making a hydrogen/energy loop with a Separator and a Gas-burner will net you a Separator working infinitely at half speed producing Oxygen.
The "almost" is the cost of getting water to the separator.
getting a return on investment of power from a generator used to be reasonable.

Which part of "removing an infinite positive power feedback loop" of the whole Separator reballance are not getting here? Hydrogen is now power neutral.
Besides, you can net power gain, if you produce Ethylene.
that's the entire point, it was a perfectly self contained system that would run isolated indefinitely with a little bit of profit of power as well.
i seriously don't understand why you find things that aren't blatantly obnoxious balanced and i never will.
