I just discovered the most peculiar bug.I have a workshop lit with Factorization wrathlamps, and I use Immibis' Advanced Machines add-on to IC2. If I take an Advanced Machines Singularity Compressor, and I place it on the floor, it places perfectly with no problem. However, if I take the exact same compressor and try to place it against the wall, one block off the floor, I get disconnected from my server with the following error.

(Crossposted to Immibis mods thread)Oh, just discovered something even worse. If I place a block on the floor at the base of the wall, and try to place the compressor again in the exact same location but targeting the top of the block instead of the wall surface, the compressor appears for about half a second, then vanishes altogether. Poof. Gone.
Er, let me amend that .... the compressor actually went back into my inventory, but invisible until I tried to put something else in that space. Then there it was again.
I think this is happening when the block you try to place the compressor in is not actually an air block, but a 1001 tile.lightair item.
Yeah, you're probably right, could be the pipe(buildcraft) that does it. Any way to get around that? Without RP2 I really have no idea what to do.
I never pipe items directly into a router with Buildcraft pipes. With pneumatic tubing it was safe, because the item would "bounce" if there was nowhere for it to go, but Buildcraft transport pipes do not handle that case gracefully. I always did it one of two ways - placed a chest next to the router and use a dual-router setup, the first pulling from the chest and ejecting into the second which routed it to storage; or use a RedPower sorting machine to pull stacks at a time from a chest and pneumatic-pipe them to a single router.
However, I've found a very good solution in Minecraft 1.6: Chickenbones' Translocators. (Forge Multipart required.) Put a pair of item translocators in between a chest and a router one block away, and hit the translocators with glowstone dust. The translocators will pull from the chest, taking full stacks BY PREFERENCE if there are any, and stuff them in to the router, only if the router's inventory has space. No power required, and they are blazing fast. You can even feed round-robin out of the chest to multiple routers, or filter different lists of items to different routers (but if you use the built-in filter, any given translocator can only accept nine different items in its filter). You can even, get this, reverse the direction of the translocators with a redstone signal ... so if something's stuck in the router that has nowhere to go, just hit the translocators with a redstone pulse and kick it back into the buffer chest.
I'll try that and see how it works out. Is there no mod around that has similar concept as RP2 tubes? I have applied energistics but that system doesn't even need to use barrels and has a much later endgame. Trying to get something simple and cheap up for early game storage. Then again routers aren't exactly "cheap" or early. Another idea I had was to use additional pipes and put a space between the barrels and just run a bunch of insertion pipes in the back.
I actually find item routers fairly cheap and easy to make early on, especially now that making diamond shards requires only diamonds and TNT. It takes much longer going on all the lumber expeditions to build the barrels. The longest part of the whole thing was actually setting up the infrastructure to make logic matrices. Killing Endermen really isn't hard once you learn the trick, and Blazes are manageable with decent armor, especially given a fire-resistance enchant.
If you're going to try it with Buildcraft pipes, make sure to loop the pipe back to the chest for buffering.
There's a trick to find endermen in the world? I'm just randomly running around until I see one pop up on the map.
No, I meant the trick to killing them quickly. If you only look at their legs they usually won't teleport away. I don't have any particular trick for finding them in the overworld.
<edit> I got the chance to try those translocators and they seem quite nice! Just another question for you, if you don't mind, is there any way to stop the router from spreading the same item across every free barrel? Would be nice if you could tell it to dump everything into the first open container and if that is full, move to another? Right now it seems to go round robin on every barrel.
Not that I have ever found. The Thoroughness upgrade is SUPPOSED to make a router completely fill one machine before going on to the next, but it doesn't work for barrels. I settle for picking an inexpensive but seldom-looted-or-dropped item (clay bricks work well) and putting one each in barrels I don't want filled yet.
Both of them hidden to see what runs better. and both of them look fine when shaders are set to none, but soon as any shader is applied, it becomes black almost.
I'll be putting together a mod pack for my viewers to enjoy and for me to be able to update easily.
The modpack is going to be located in the ATLauncher, and hopefully i'll be able to post it in the FeedTheBeast launcher.

Neptune, i just wanted to let you know i'll be using your mod in a private modpack for me and a handfull of my friends. It's intended distribution will be the FTB launcher, pending their approval. The best description i could give to this modpack would be "Kitchen Sink" Thanks for making a great mod for the community!
O Neptune, I have a question. There's a lot of Factorization I still want to use, but I intend to use Barrels Mod barrels instead of the Factorization barrels, partly because they work like the old ID=1000 barrels, and partly because LWC can protect them but apparently cannot protect the new Factorization barrels. (Possibly because their block ID is over 4096.) Is there a configuration option for Factorization to disable Factorization barrels completely? I want to have only one set of barrels available on the server, to avoid confusion.
It's mostly a modpack that our community wanted (about 30 people) so there's no fancy or story description. It's just a simple modpack for people to have fun.
I will be using this in a Mod Pack for the MineDesign server. The mod pack will be called MineDesign. This pack will be for people on my server only. The amount of users is unclear at this moment.

This error causes the server to halt any further loading. It is caused by this line in TileEntityWrathLamp:
Core.logSevere("TileEntityWrathLamp.airToUpdate has %i entries!", new Object[]{Integer.valueOf(airToUpdate.size())});
Replacing %i with %d in the class code solves the problem, but would be nice if the author fixed this as well (and please, please do this for 1.5.2 version). Also would be convenient if you could add coordinates of the offending lamp to this log message.
I am creating a modpack that is called Forgecraft 2 mods.
Like the modpacks title says the modpack will have the Forgecraft 2 server mods that I am aware off.
The website is still under construction and so are the forums: http://tomykalm.wix.com/fc2mods
The modpack will have the mods with the 1.6.4 versions and it will be updated to further versions.
At the website there is a credits page where are all the mods, there website and authors names, but also this will be in the download file.

Hi neptunepink,
I am planning to include factorization in a modpack for a private server (no more than 20 users). The modpack will include many other "tech" mods, but not necessarily the typical choices.. Things like Natura/Tinkers construct and Thaumcraft 4 will be included, but not IC2 (for example). Carefully chosen and tested many mods for some time to come up with about 70 mods to include. And this is one of them!

This mod may be used in modpacks under the following conditions:
1. There is a post in this thread that the mod is being used in a modpack. If it is a public modpack, then it must include the pack's name and the website or URL where the modpack can be found. If it is a private modpack, then mention this in your post. (I would like the post to contain also a description of the modpack and an estimate of the number of users, but this isn't necessary.)
2. The modpack must include in it a text file, or something similar, listing for each public mod: the name of the mod, the mod's author, and the mod's website or forum thread.
I made a modpack using this mod.

I think I might be missing something or not seeing how to do it but how do you make a Diamond block shard? I know how to do it using the craft packets but these seem to have been removed and I can't find how to make the craft packets to get the diamond block shard. I'm using 0.8.04beta17.
Speaking of modpack notifications, making it official: I am using Factorization in a private mod pack for a private server, titled CaerCraft. I don't ever expect to have more than about 6-8 players. The CaerCraft server is a no-PVP builders-and-explorers server, featuring a rich large-biomes world with both magical and tech options, with an optional highly-realistic texture pack (also private). The server information page includes a list (as complete as I can make it) of credits for all mods and textures used.

When placing any of the barrels, The barrel color goes pitch black. It still has some outlines though.
Also if you say something about me using it in a 1.6.4 pack, then here is the same pack but for 1.6.2:
