As much as I'm glad to see many mods I'd like to use already being updated to 1.4.6, I'm wondering, does this mean there's no way to download TE 2.1.2 for a 1.4.5 client? Many other mods I wanted to put into a client I'm going to be using aren't updated for 1.4.6, and I'd be disappointed if I have to exclude TE just because there's no "Older Downloads" menu anywhere for it.

Sorry about that, just moved over to adfly and I'm setting up a download for all previous versions.

It's all good. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't completely removed or something.~
Hopefully all the other major modders can get everything up to 1.4.6 before there's an announcement for a 1.5 release date, or something. Glad to see yours is on up there already though.
And it's up. Sorry about that. Given that RP is out now, I can't possibly imagine that anybody wants the 1.2.5 version of the mod anymore, so I'm leaving that out for now.
I'd like to open a discussion about this mod alongside IndustrialCraft 2.
What was the thinking behind having a few machines that completely overwrite IC2 machines, particularly the pulveriser vs. the macerator.
King Lemming, I'd like it if you could share exacatly what your opinion of IC2 is. Would you like us to uninstall it? I want your honest opinion, what do YOU want for us to do with this mod, in the context of, say, Feed The Beast.
I've always felt IC2 was somewhat poorly designed, with its multitude of free energy options that cost not much more than iron, redstone and (boring, repetitive) time investment. This wouldn't be a problem if EU was completely separated from MJ, but it isn't. So, smart players will just amass EU and use it for everything, it would seem.
However, without EE3 being finished, IC2 seems to be the only mod offering toys like the jetpack, extremely useful mining laser, and electrical tools, which are much better game design than enchanting with levels. You just don't GET levels when playing with technical mods - you hardly do any fighting - so spending energy to use tools makes so much more sense.
Honestly, I like IC2. Always have, still do. The toys are fun, and obviously I'm a fan of tech mods.
We haven't set out to "kill IC2" or any of that nonsense, but there's a frighteningly high amount of people who think that having another machine that does the same thing as the Macerator does exactly that. The Pulverizer takes 25% more energy to do what it does, and it's a bit more interesting as a mechanic, especially the interaction with the Smelter.
If the Macerator is the only reason you use IC2 at all, then frankly yes, you should stop using IC2, as you're wasting a lot of the potential of a great mod.
In general, you'll find the opposite of what you're claiming here - the Pulverizer doesn't see use because people prefer the completely absurd speeds of an overclocked Macerator. And that's fine.
As far as FTB goes, really up to you to figure out how you want to play it - that's always been the great thing about MC. Personally I think TE has a bit better start and overall balance, and IC2 scales better into the realm of insanity. One of our real draws is that we do things with low latency and server overhead. We're trying to do a tech mod that doesn't cripple servers.
Personally I like to use TE\IC2\Gregtech\RC processing, each has resources they are best at, each has resources that they are weaker at and some have resources that only they can process and\or provide.
Also a big bonus in my eyes is I get to play with multiple flows of processing and a lot of different machines, if you just want to set and forget a basic processing system that does everything with little interaction, either TE or IC2 has you covered. TE however does have other options that you can use, on the other hand IC2 can become stupidly fast so the choice is yours which is imo a great thing.

people prefer the completely absurd speeds of an overclocked Macerator
Thank you so much for this, and the rest of your insight!
How would you test/calculate the energy use difference between the Pulverizer and the Macerator, early-game? (no overclockers) First, is the only way to power a Pulverizer with EU the electrical engine? Is there a widely known correlation between EU and MJ? I recently heard you could convert MJ to EU one-to-one, but not the other way around.
Could you plz make a redpower version instead of buildcraft?

For a long time coal was the value used for converting back and forth. I believe the value is EU * 2.5 = MJ.
Can't dismantle (shift+RMB) enegry conduits and enegry cells with anything except Omniwrench. Tested on BC wrench, Forestry wrench, IC2 wrench for consistency's sake. Running Forge 6.5.0.473, BC 3.3.0, TE 2.1.6 Omnitools 2.2.3
In general, you'll find the opposite of what you're claiming here - the Pulverizer doesn't see use because people prefer the completely absurd speeds of an overclocked Macerator. And that's fine.
I find that statement slightly amusing given I recently switched from* the IC2 macerator to the Pulverizer and powered furnace combo. It's a bit faster by default and is tons easier to manage. Stick a hopper on top of the pulverizer and align the output and inputs and whamo, instant automatic processing. It even kicks the finished product out to a chest.
*note to the other poster, I have by no means gotten rid of IC2. Never did find even one diamond that game. made all ~18 I had via coal dust and a compressor.

I'm sorry, but the log just doesn't support your claim that it's *definitely* TE. I can't completely rule out a bad interaction with another mod though. :/ Have you tried adding/removing the others while keeping TE in?
Can't dismantle (shift+RMB) enegry conduits and enegry cells with anything except Omniwrench. Tested on BC wrench, Forestry wrench, IC2 wrench for consistency's sake. Running Forge 6.5.0.473, BC 3.3.0, TE 2.1.6 Omnitools 2.2.3
What happened here is that there was a vanilla change to how clicking works. The wrenches have to be fixed. Currently the Crescent Hammer and the OmniWrench will work (side note, there's no great reason not to use the Crescent Hammer for your "BC only" wrench). The other wrenches do not support sneak click at the moment. You'll have to go ask the other authors to fix it on their ends I'm afraid.
I have set Railcraft up to make the recipies of IndustrialCraft machines require steel instead of refined iron. That makes beginning with IC2 machines a bit more challenging. Could you add a config option in TE to use Railcraft steel instead of iron in the recipe for the machine frame?
I'll have to think about this one. I don't object to the idea though, just have to see how easy it is to implement.
I'm having the same exception that Craftiyan is, but the only mod I have installed is NEI, TE, and the TE-NEI integration. It reports TickNextTick exception upon world generation for single player. I can go back to the menu and reload that same world and it seems to work though.
I see what you did there, King Lemming.
Was digging through my new 1.4.6 configs. Didn't see any documentation so...
B:transport.teleport.energy=true
B:transport.teleport.items=true
B:transport.teleport.liquid=true
a teleport function in thermal expansion? sounds interesting.
Also
I:item.core.painter=20002 // painters ?
I:transport.teleport.energy.loss=5
I:transport.teleport.energy.maxTransfer=100
Sorry about that, just moved over to adfly and I'm setting up a download for all previous versions.

And yes, this is definitely from this mod.
For a long time coal was the value used for converting back and forth. I believe the value is EU * 2.5 = MJ.
What happened here is that there was a vanilla change to how clicking works. The wrenches have to be fixed. Currently the Crescent Hammer and the OmniWrench will work (side note, there's no great reason not to use the Crescent Hammer for your "BC only" wrench). The other wrenches do not support sneak click at the moment. You'll have to go ask the other authors to fix it on their ends I'm afraid.
I'll have to think about this one. I don't object to the idea though, just have to see how easy it is to implement.
