Made a world using Gold and flew around. Made a short Imgur album with the screenshots I felt were worth taking: http://imgur.com/a/t7qh5#0
Some observations:
- Looks like individual biomes are about normal sized rather than large biomes sized, but since the valley-forest-hills biomes work perfectly together, it's not an issue. It might become an issue if/when you introduce other biomes to the Gold gen, especially things like desert and jungle biomes. Plains and extreme hills will probably be fine.
- Didn't see any rivers, though there were numerous ponds and a couple of decent-sized lakes. None of the bodies of water were particularly deep, even the lakes were only one block deep.
- The little ruins are a nice touch, but they're too common. I didn't take any screenshots of Rei's large map, but there are several places where I had 3-5 of the things on a single large map view, that's way too common, especially since they generate on the surface. One of them appeared to try and generate into a bunch of trees, there's a screenshot of it. Another had two large chests spawn inside each other, there's a screenshot of that one, too.
- Ruins look a little out of place in the snowy biomes because there's no snow on or in them.
- Loot in the little ruins is appropriate. I didn't check all of them, but it mostly appears to be similar to dungeon loot. Lots of iron ingots, bread, wheat, some cocoa beans, some redstone, and one had a music disc. Nothing extravagant like diamonds, emeralds, etc, which is appropriate since they're easy to find.
- Weather in the snowy hills biome is rain, not snow!
- Found all of the usual mob types, except for ocelots which obviously won't spawn in foresty areas. Wolves were a little harder to find but I was able to find several. Cows and sheep were everywhere, plenty of pigs, plenty of chickens.
- Found both pumpkins and melons spawning naturally.
- Didn't find any villages and didn't explore below ground to look for mineshafts, dungeons, strongholds, etc.
- Saw quite a bit of coal on the surface, but didn't see any iron. Haven't gone underground to look at ore spawns below the surface. Will emeralds spawn in these biomes?
- The color of grass/foliage in default textures might be a little too rich if we're going for a borean forest kind of thing here, should probably be a paler, less verdant shade of green. Maybe closer to the default color for extreme hills?
- Really, really like how snowy hills merges with the forest and valleys, looks completely natural and very life-like, at least as much as it can without adding new blocks etc.
When I install this mod with MagicLauncher 0.9.8, it says that this mod loads with 8 errors. Here is the report....

EDIT: I am just a FRICKIN' gaywad, and didn't install it correctly :P. Will do that now. And also, I asked earlier if villages even had chests anymore. Because to me, melons are cool, but not enough. I have another mod that makes melon seeds, and pumpkin seeds a rare drop from tall grass. So it is an easier way, but I would rather have diamonds, iron, and such. Plus, it renders village seeds almost completely useless. Thanks.
Sorry for posting this yet again, it is just I would like to know. Are there chests in villages anymore? Every village I have spawned near, or found, doesn't. Melons are not enough, personally, that is what I think.
Uh, quick question...How do I generate say I skylands world? Is it supposed to appear in the "world options" category on world creation, because it isn't for me.
The alpha world generator isnt working for me. it's pretty much the same as the beta one. it seems to be different for others. do you know what the problem is? since i really want to play in those old alpha worlds.

Whenever I have this mod installed all the regular trees have gray leaves, it does not happen with jungle or birch trees. I'm only using magic launcher and optifine (though it still happens without optifine), any idea what I'm doing wrong?

I'm using Johnsmith, but it still happens with the default texture pack
Edit: I've managed to fix it, I'm not sure what I did. I disabled and re-enabled optifine, and switched between the default and JohnSmith texture pack and it fixed it.
Minecraft crashes apparently when I try to use this mod and load Minecraft despite MagicLauncher Reporting 8 errors. Here is the Report:

are you using any texturepacks?
I'm using Johnsmith, but it still happens with the default texture pack
Edit: I've managed to fix it, I'm not sure what I did. I disabled and re-enabled optifine, and switched between the default and JohnSmith texture pack and it fixed it.
Minecraft has crashed!
----------------------
// I believe this error has to do with a conflict between Risugami's Biospheres mod, which I temporarily disabled in order to keep minecraft from crashing.
Minecraft has stopped running because it encountered a problem; ModLoader has failed to initialize.
