The Ruby Staff will instantly kill any enemy (apart from Endermen, they chicken out and teleport) and has a durability value of 100. The staff is a long-ranged weapon, just point at an enemy and right click (have to hold for a split-second) to have him burst into flames and die. Alternatively, if you point at a block and right-click (again, have to hold) that block will burst into flames. You must have a piece of redstone in your inventory to 'power up' the staff. To craft the staff you will need a Ruby Orb, you will see the recipe below. (Or kill an Enderman with fire, read the changelog.)
The Ruby Ore will generate below level 23, and come in veins up to 9 (from what I've seen). The ore will emit a small glow, about that of a Redstone Torch. When mining, there is a 50% chance of the ore dropping an experience orb worth half a level (from 0).
~ The textures for the different wooden planks seem to have disappeared, I will work on that asap. This is the only bug I've found though.
~ When I put the armor on there's 2 white floating dots by my hands! - I'm not the best artist, and wrap-around images are tough to grasp. It's really not noticable though, just ignore it.
~ Be sure to use your Ruby Staff ONLY for mob killing, as even destroying that bit of grass will take a hit off the durability.
~ Ruby Blocks were meant to be decorative. Again, I'm no artist....
~ The stone from the Ruby Ore may look different from your texture packs stone.
~ This mod is not compatible with any mods that modify the cg.class (EnumArmorMaterial.java) or jg.class (EnumToolMaterial.java) or uk.class (EntityEnderman.java) or dq.class (WorldGenDungeons.java).
~ This mod was meant to be simple!
~ Requires ModLoader.
~ Every tool and armor piece is enchantable. ~
~ cowsareawesome has donated the texture for the ruby! Thanks!☺
CHANGLOG:
1. Added a small chance (roughly 22%) of an Enderman dropping a Ruby Orb from dying of fire. It DOES NOT have to die COMPLETELY from fire, just the finishing blow.
2. Majorly tweaked ore generation, as when I was playing on one of my worlds I found 100 rubies in 20 minutes. When testing in MCP the generation was satisfactory, but I guess in the real game it bumps up the spawning. It should be to the level I want it now.
3. Improved the image for the ruby. (Thanks to cowsareawesome for donating the texture!!)
4. Fixed the problem with the random quiver titled "Ruby".
5. Added a new recipe: 1 Diamond = 8 Rubies.
6. Added flame properties (scrapped the explosion) for the Ruby Staff. Just point at an enemy and right-click (have to hold down for a split-second) and watch him die. Also, you can have a block burst into flames. (Be careful around your wooden house!!) You must have a piece of redstone in your inventory to 'power up' the staff.
7. Added a sound effect for the Ruby Staff.
8. Even more improvements for the staff....☺
9. Rubies now spawn in dungeons!
ADDITIONS IN PROGRESS:
New potion recipe with ruby as an ingredient (maybe a new potion altogether?)

This looks like a great mod. I think the 5% chance of an enderman dropping a ruby orb is a great idea.
Ok, I implemented the Enderman dropping a Ruby Orb! Instead of a 5% chance though (as Endermen are a little uncommon) I made it so there's a (bigger) chance that the Enderman will drop the orb when it has died from fire. Read the notes for a little more information.
~Remember that this is my first mod, and please read the notes!
