This is my first mod so there are likely bugs. If you find any please post about it here. Suggestions are more than welcome. This mod uses 41 block IDs.
Looking for someone to make this SMP compatible!
Also looking for texture-pack support! Any pack! Thank you!
EDIT: Oh and the wood wall panels have no inventory render at the moment.
Wow, i was gonna do this a while back, u bet me to it :tongue.gif: i been busy with my own mod anyways :smile.gif:
Do you reckon i could join you and help code/texture/idea?
Im pretty keen on helping out!
You need some ice bricks and stuff to make snow fortresses?!

Maybe, just maybe. How good are you at coding and texturing? I'm a noob at both. Anyway I had been thinking about some alternate glass/ice blocks, I'll get on those tomorrow. Where I am its night and I'm pretty tired.
Actually seems quite cool. One thing, though: Did you use Metadata with any of these or does each block take up a full block id? I have many other mods, and if each block uses a full block id, given the amount of blocks in this mod, there's no way i have enough block IDs to use this too.

Yea every single block has its own ID, all the half-blocks do too. It uses ID's 150-210 at the moment. I don't know how to use meta-data, I've tried but never got it to work. Do you know where I could find a tutorial? I've also been looking at some of the ID-expansion mods like "minecraft extended" but that ones outdated. Any help on this issue would be GREATLY appreciated.

Google the herblore mod, ive done a bit of coding and texturing in that.
Also my signature has a banner of my texture pack.
I like to consider myself a good texture artist :tongue.gif:
Also for the person concerned about the block id's and compatibility, you could use the forge api and use their infinite sprite index, so you wouldnt need to worry about being within the 256 block restriction :smile.gif:

Bro, read the front page of the MinecraftForums. No need to worry about Metadata in 1.2, as it's going to have 4000 Block ids! I'll definitely use this then. great job on the mod, by the way. :biggrin.gif:

YES I KNOW! I SAW THE JEB-POST!! SO EXCITED FOR 1.2!!!!!
I'll probably hold off release of the 1.2 version until Minecraft 1.2 comes out.
Wow, I really like what you've added. Glad to see my ideas made it in there too :biggrin.gif:
As for a shorter name for the wood supported cobble. What about "planked wall" or "braced wall"?
That wood wall actually looks really good for ceiling blocks, though i can't really think of any way to make wood paneling look right in minecraft unless it was just like the plank texture turned sideways and switched up a bit.
Maybe the wood wall could be a smooth wood texture or sideways plank texture, with wood trim on the bottom/top? You could make a wood wall without trim as well to allow people to make more decorative walls.
Also, what about a path stone? Like a stone for a garden walkway just kinda half stuck in the ground. since it would take a bit more work and ID space to make a path stone that blends with each block type, It could be the same entity as a mine cart track. just without the ability to ride mine carts on it of course :tongue.gif:
I'm downloading this now, can't wait to see future updates!
edit: I just noticed the cobble plate. It's a good idea, if you think it needs another texture I think I may have an idea. Take my above idea for the wood wall, but switch in cobble stone. The main block could look a bit like the wood supported cobble, but with iron strips supporting it instead of wood. Also, the strips could be just vertical, to give it a bit more variance from the wood one. Then for top and bottom end blocks, just add wood to the top and bottom of the original plated cobble recipe.
= top cobble plate
= normal cobble plate
= bottom cobble plate
Or you could replace the wood with stone or more iron. Whatever you think would look best i suppose :smile.gif:
edit2: I keep thinking of ideas after i post :laugh.gif: What about iron fences? I'm fairly sure there are other mods that do it, but having features in one mod makes things a load easier. Iron fencing could be useful though, as it could double for iron struts for buildings.
Make it SMP!!Kinda use less in SP since on one else is seeing it,no offence
Yea I know I really need to make this SMP but from the modder's point of view thats a lot of work. Plus I have very little experience playing SMP, I've been playing SSP since indev.
is it just me or does it look like he stole those blocks from the aether mod? the textures are alittle idfferent
I got the idea for the pillar block from the Aether, yes. But I made EVERYTHING myself. And if I use anyone else's stuff in the future I will ask for permission first and give credit.

Yeah, and the first wood cobblestone is much better.
