when i go to patch mine craft with the installer in the sonic ethers folder. nothing pops up. like there are no local mods so i have nothing to patch mine craft with. please help.

Anyone know how to turn off the blur when I move my crosshair? it's super annoying, and makes me a bit laggy

I'm running OS X Lion 10.7.3 and I'm trying to download Sonic Ether's Shaders with OptiFine. I can get MC to run with only one running (OptiFine installed, or Shaders installed), bot never with both at the same time. If I try to make them run together, I just get blackscreened. Any solution for PC can probably work for Mac, so don't withhold those from me

Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

You need OptiFine, or else you'll be rocking 12fps.

For some reason, shadows only work for spiders and endermen. Could someone help me out with this? I've seen a couple people having this trouble but, to my knowledge and what I've seen, no one has had this issue resolved. Care to help out?

Ok guys, I have read through this thread a couple of times, followed the neccecary steps, but I seem to be missing something. Here are my system specs:

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium x64
Processor: Phenom II x4 2.3GHz
Ram: 4gb
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460

I have installed MagicLauncher and Optifine Smooth
I have installed the windows Core file
I have installed the default shaders

What happens:
I open magic launcher (And have tried the default MC launcher) and I get the Mojang logo for a few seconds and then a white screen at which point it fails to progress forward.

I've gone through the install process three times now, and figured if the third time wasn't a charm, I'd give asking a shot.

If I missed any valuable information to help find the solution, please let me know, and thanks in advance for you help.

WOOT I got it working and fiddled around with the various possible settings to get it looking like I want.

Now I'd like to get into more serious tweaking to maybe increase FPS and increase the light given off by torches / glowstones / lava underground. It gets so dark down there it looks terrible.

Is there a guide with the settings explained and what they change in game?

If you're using MC Patcher, turn off HD texture and font support. I had that enabled cuz of a texture pack I was using and found it doesn't work together.

Thanks for the advice, I'll check that out. I don't believe I have added MC patcher yet at this point, but I'm going to go through the install process one more time.

Is there a way to install this manually. (Instead of using the Install application)

I forgot to delete META-INF.
