Hm. I might consider giving another Item this function, for SMP. It has to be an existing Item, thought, and best something that does not have a right click function already.
Any item solution i looked at was really stupid, so it's built-in now. For SSP, nothing changes. In SMP, instead of crafting it, you have access at all times by pressing button "J" (default, can be changed at autocreated mods/MagicYarn.txt).
The particles are particle effects, they have nothing to do with the MC Light engine per se. I can't change their brightness either, not without writing my own particle renderer.
Weird, I'm not seeing the particles at all. Right click once, move away, right click again - nothing.
I took a look at the zip archive, and it doesn't seem to be anything but a routine install (they all go to jar or the mods folder, right?). And I use MCPatcher to install the mod, as I'm frequently changing mods, so manually moving every mod file to jar is just too time consuming, and MCPatcher has proven to be pretty reliable, if you know what you're doing (having to check the zip archive yourself to make sure things go where they go, or you re-archive it yourself).

Assuming this wasnt resolved long ago, do you get sounds?
Thanks again for a great mod,
TG
War doesn't decide who is right, just who is left...
use normal string for SMP
