Found a bug, all ores that give off a particle effect make your framerate drop to 1/10th of what it was before, I proved this on a flat world.
Wow. This is quite the claim. 10% of what it was? Man, I normal about 50 fps, and being around an ore giving off a particle effect has never noticeably altered that.
Prove it to all of us. A video or screenshot would be nice. What was your original framerate? And after?
I want to use Custom Ore Generation with this. How can I disable metallurgy ore generation so that I can use COG to do this instead, while keeping the functions of all metallurgy or intact?

I THINK you go to the metallurgy configs and set all the ores spawn counts to zero, or something along those lines. Shadow and Keith probably know.

The easiest way to do this is to set all ores to spawn only in invalid dimensionIDs. So all of them only spawn in DimID-2 or something like that(barring use of the Mystcraft /Myst-Create command, mind you). Then set all of them to spawn with Custom Ore Generation.
Though I should warn you, Metallurgy adds a LOT of new ores, so you may have a hell of a Debugging Party on your hands. Might just be better to use BoG for vanilla dimensions and the Mystcraft addon for this mod, and set all the valid dimensionIDs for this mod to -2.(really, any negative number below 1 will work most of the time, save for /Myst-Create and mods which occupy that DimID)

Hmmm... bit of an idea popped into my head Shadow keeps saying something about cores. Now this is just an idea but I might help the problem with duplicate recipes from other mods with armors. Instead of the normal recipe for armors how about you take into account that core but instead of that it's built around a gem 8 ingots of a certain type surrounding a gem, seeing as there are only 3 types of gem stone types in game, Lapis, Emerald and Diamonds You could use those for crafting the armors. It's just an idea though, though it would also make the armors more unique to the mod and also add a bit of tech flare into the mix since the mod is leaning towards more tech stuff with M3.

ummm.. what? lol... you want me to do what with the what in the where with the what now? I mentioned nothing about mystcraft.

What I'm doing is setting all spawnable ore blocks to false in the config files (and for good measure set their values to 0). Then just create your new settings in COG's file by using the block ID of the Metallurgy 2 ore (ie, use 901 for Copper, 901:1 for tin, etc)
We're going to push back the ore spawn overhaul to M3, so that way you all won't have to remake your worlds next patch (the balance changes are still going through, so I'd still recommend it)

Well, most of us who use tech mods will have to restart a world due to rp2 next weekend so i dont know about everyone else but i say that if u can. u should go thru with the ore spawn overhaul.

Its a lot bigger tha nanticipated, and M3 is awhile off anyway (since it will likely be for a future Minecraft version)

Hey, i noticed a bug where when adding the Painterly Textures. In-game, the base metal's (Copper,Tin,Manganese, Bronze,Hepation,Damascus Steel, Angmallen, and Steel) Block forms do not show up. they are textureless. Is this a known bug?

So I set all ore counts to 0 and vein counts to 0 and all spawnable ore to false. Yet metallurgy still spawns all the ore in the world.. wtf?
Conflict how? It has configs for nearly everything, including the ability to disable metals.
It uses the Forge ore dictionary so all its metals will work with other Forge mods as long as they're properly using the ore dictionary.

Yeah, if you change Vein Count to 0 the ore wont spawn

Seems to work fine for me... what if you disable the content filter thingy in the search bar?
What exactly is the API?

Shadow Steel then Vyroxeres then Ceruclase then Inolae then Kalendrite then Vulcanite then Sanguinite.
