I've just finished creating my second mod, the Visible Damage Mod! What this mod does is shows the damage you've inflicted to a mob through its appearance. For example, when a zombie is hurt with minor injuries, a rip in its shirt exposing a scar will become visible. When it gets hurt badly, more scars appear, and when it is near-death, its head will disappear!
For creepers, they will bleed gunpowder when hurt, skeletons will begin to crack, and spiders will get scarred.
Special thanks to AtmomicStryker for helping me with making this work without editting any original class files! Rep him and check out his mods!
Video demonstration(Outdated! Textures are better now! User videos needed :smile.gif: ):
Both download versions require Risugami's ModLoader! Get it at his thread here!
The Vanilla Texture Pack Version is meant to work with only the original Minecraft Textures. Texture Pack Version works with any texture pack, but the zombie can't get beheaded in that version.

Currently only affects Zombies, Skeletons, Spiders, and Creepers. Please vote in the poll if you want me to make it work with other mobs.
This does not edit any of the original Minecraft files, so it should be compatible with any ModLoader mod!
Changelog
Version 2:
-Fixed bug where zombie pigman's skin is changed to wounded zombie.
-Added compatibility for any texture pack
-Updated skins (creeper's face now becomes ripped and reveals TNT)
-Edited so no original Minecraft files are used
Known Bugs
When a zombie pigman is hurt, its skin changes to a wounded zombie skin. FIXED!
Zombie pigmen swords are not visible and skeleton bows aren't either.
Awh the spider looked so sad when you hit him.. lol i couldn't see much affect on the spider but i like the idea of the mod it's small and doesn't ruin the game :biggrin.gif:

Yeah, that was a test video, I noticed that too and fixed the images for the spider so you can see them properly.
I see that now, I just tested it. The zombie pigmen when struck show the normal zombie visible damage. So when I hit one, it basically turns into a wounded zombie with a sword.

Thanks for the bug report, I will try to fix that.
Alright, I will ask permission from the creator if I can edit his textures so they work with this mod.
Rhodox doesn't care about simple texture edits as long as you give him credit for the original painterly textures and link to his website. I've asked him before about editing his work and he said that to me.

Alright, thanks, but I might just make a new version compatible with all texture packs by masking the textures over them. Unfortunately I won't be able to make the zombie go headless with this method =/

I won't have to, what I was thinking of was just editing texture packs people request from me, but I'll just make the textures mask over them instead.
EDIT: Well not editing the texture packs, just taking the mob textures and customizing those to work with this.
When you say mask, do you mean like the red scar comes over whatever they have as their mob? That makes sense

Repped!
Sorry, I forgot to format the title and then realized my mistake and fixed it right before you posted =P
I always read the stickies.

I was suggested that (rather rudely :sad.gif: ) on my video and thought it was a cool idea, so I plan on adding that.
I already explained those things at the bottom of the OP :smile.gif:

Yeah, just like how when you put a saddle on a pig, the saddle texture gets put on the pig.
