I've added magic items such as wands (which you can see in action here) such as the wand of time and the wand of death, swords such as the Zublade (leech life) and the Poison Blade (poisons enemies), and eerie goo, such as black goo, which eats through solid blocks (even bedrock).
Wand of Life
-heals
-grows crops
-grows saplings
Wand of Death
-shoots infinite arrows
Wand of Light
-infinite torches
Wand of Lands
-places and removes dirt blocks
Wand of Sands
-places and removes sand and gravel blocks
Wand of Oceans
-places water
Wand of Lava
-places lava
Wand of Portals
-places and removes portals
Wand of Time
-resets time to morning
-stops precipitation
Making the Wands:
Wands are basically made from the dust of crystals, which grow under enough light in caves, on marble blocks of the same color. Mining a crystal and smelting it yields one powder. Each wand requires 72 powders. This number is high because the wands are insanely powerful, and it'd break the game if they were easy to make.
It's important to me to point out that none of them remove or mine stone or ores. You have to mine. It's minecraft. However they can help make mining easier!
9 of one type of powder makes a bowl of powders. (This includes Redstone).
8 bowls of powder around 1 redstone makes a gem of that type.
A gem on top of two sticks makes a wand. This means you need 72 crystal powders to make a wand.
Combining one redstone powder with a bowl of certain powders creates an eerie goo.
Blue goo makes you jump higher.
Red goo makes you run faster.
Green goo slows and hurts entities.
Purple goo glows and slows entities.
Black goo eats through ALL solid blocks. all of them
Combining two gems of a certain type on top of a stick will create a magic weapon.
Red and Yellow = Fire Blade (sets enemies on fire)
White and Blue = Frost Blade (slows enemies)
Purple and Black = Zublade (Leech Life)
Green and Black = Poison Blade (poisons enemies)
and two brown gems make a Cricket Bat which stuns enemies for a short time.
In addition to the ores I added earlier and the marble blocks which grow crystals, I've added hemp (Hobbit's Leaf), cocoa plants, blueberry and raspberry bushes. The berries cannot be picked up, requiring use of the map to remember where to go berry picking. Berries can be used in brewing mead.
Brewing:
Make a barrel. 4 Brass and 4 Planks like so
get a bucket of water and pour it into the barrel. get some sugar and put it in the barrel. get some berries and put them into the barrel. wait about a day ingame.
To drink out of the barrel you need brass cups (same recipe as the bucket).
You get 15 cups of mead out of the barrel. You can also replace berries with wheat to get wheat beer!
Harvesting berries :3
Hemp grows 3 high, and can be used to make hemp fiber which can be used to make rope, which can be placed anywhere and which can be climbed by holding shift.
two hemp plants yield hobbit's leaf (trees) which can be put in a pipe and smoked Gandalf style.
(Pipe: #-- where # is planks and - is sticks)
Hemp fiber can be used any way string can. 4 hemp fiber = 1 wool block.
Cocoa plants grow 3 high and yield 3 cocoa beans per block.
Also, there are copper pipes, which are somewhat buggy, but pretty awesome.
Basically if there's water on one side and air on the other, they'll drop a water
block on the empty side. They'll also pass water to each other, forming a pipe.
They're sort of omnidirectional water moving cubes. I dunno, try them out and let me know what happens

This mod still has my imbued swords, and suppliments them with gem imbued armor. There is also copper and bronze armor and tools!
Great mod, But im not going to download. Not the type of mod for me. And for everyone who wants pics, he has them, Click on the Word "See: in the first line.

mod looks great downloaded it and it didnt work :sad.gif: ill try agian but i think you should re-look your items and see if you did it right.
oh yikes. it worked on my friends' computers and on mine. did it blackscreen or just not generate the stuff in the new world? on my friend's computer he had to walk to a new chunk to find hemp etc even though he'd already started a new world. I'll check on mine :s
edit: I didn't use modloader, so i don't know if that's causing problems.
edit2: yeah I just updated minecraft and installed the mod and it worked. It may not be compatible with other stuff you have on it already.
It heals you for about 3.5 hearts I believe. Hobbit leaf (nugs) are stackable and so are wooden pipes, but full pipes are not. Crafting recipe is in the pics at the top of the OP. To make nugs you need to place two plants next to each other in the crafting table.
Hemp is awesome for playing on peaceful since you don't need to switch difficulties to get string, you can just use fiber.
Also, there's hemp rope, which I prefer to ladders since you can make it more cheaply, you can basically grow it, it's realistic, and it can be placed anywhere, not just on a wall.
Edit: I need to get around to making it so you can climb hemp plants too haha
Let me know if you run into any issues or have any questions. :3 Also pictures of any awesome natural crystals down in the caves. I freaking love how they look down there.
My personal favorite part of the whole mod is leaving some marble and crystals growing down in the caves so I have landmarks to help me remember where the hell I am in the bigger cavern systems.
this looks very cool!
..so many classes touched, will this ever be modloader using?
Yes. My two current projects are making this into multiple mods all using modloader (hemp by itself, berries and brewing will be added to my new project, and the crystals/wands/and goo mod) and making a harvest moon mod with tamed farm animals and a wide array of new foods.
I want to overhaul cooking in the game. Give the player a wide variety of spices, veggies, meats, and ways to combine and cook them. Bread will require yeast (from the empty barrels you made mead in). There'd be a grate that could be placed over fires for cooking, a pot for making stew, and of course, my favorite food, ****ing curries. Oh also tea and jaffa cakes for reals.
Oh and sandwiches! Anyway, I need to work out the benefits of each type of preperation. I mean there has to be a payoff for making carrot cake or a chicken curry vs just eating a porkchop or a smelted egg (already added those in my own copy hahaha).
But yeah. Modloader version of this shiznit is coming.
-Redstone blocks again. They glow and let you store oodles of redstone in a compact space.
-Modloader compatibility. Frankly I'm running out of space in the item.png and the terrain.png files, so that's the main reason I'm compelled to do this.
-crystals growing on the sides of marble blocks under certain conditions
-more goo, i'm thinking a glowing white goo that heals you slowly when you stand on it, and I'm sure there's more goo I can add, there are 8 powders and too few goos.
So I've been working on making this whole thing compatible with modloader, and it's taking longer than I thought. I messed with stuff that modloader isn't made to handle messing with, so it's going to take some work getting it to work. It may never work with it.
Hopefully I'll have everything but the wands compatible soon.
Hey guys. Just realized that I forgot to change the buckets to pour water into empty barrels, the first step of brewing. I've added the fixed buckets as well as redstone blocks (4 redstone <-> 1 redstone block) to a new version of the mod, 2.1, which is available here: http://www.putfile2.com/f/1200/dedtxd
I downloaded this, but hobbit's leaf shows up as a green block, and it's invisible in the inventory. I dunno about the other plants for sure, but probably worth double checking them too.
EDIT: Well, "Block". Two intersecting flat green squares, not an actual block. :tongue.gif:
Nevermind, it was because I was using a texture pack. I assume when modloader goes in this will be fixed, and it'll show regardless of texture pack? Not sure what all modloader does so.
Here's a nice gallery of images featuring the plants in the mod and the crystals that grow underground!
