Hello my name is Hizukai and i will be taking over this mod for Bobby (JohnDona1245). Unfortunately he will not be able to work on the mod anymore but he has sent me what source code and images he has and i will be the one working on it from now on! He has deemed me good enough but we shall see what the community thinks. This is in the modding discussion section because my plan is not to release any of the mod till it is all done. The main post will be full of ideas that Bobby has discussed with me and that i have decided to put in the mod. This list may be unorganized at first and may miss some things so bare with me.
If you wish to help with this mod i will have to get to know you and learn to trust you first. There are some people that Bobby told me would be helpful and i will be contacting them soon.

I have several suggestions!
CAVE LIFE
RATS:
These little buggers are more useful than you'd think. On one hand, you can kill them for food and bones, although the meat isn't the healthiest and only restores half a heart unless cooked, in which case it restores two hearts. They spawn from randomly generated RAT HOLES, which you can break to gain a RAT PUP. Why would you need rat pups? Because rats are actually fairly handy if raised right! You can give the rat pup a mushroom, different colours will lead to different breeds, and have it grow into a tamed adult, which you can release from your inventory by right clicking the ground with them equipped. The reverse is true, you can pick them up by right clicking with an empty hand.
Several things that these rats can do:
SEEKER: These useful little buggers, when released, will lead you to the nearest MUSHROOM, LICHEN or ORE DEPOSIT. If you place them down in one spot, they will roam around and gather different things to put in a MOUSE PILE, which will be spawned where you placed them. It functions just like a very small chest that the mouse will automatically fill. BREEDER: Two of these can be combined with a pure stone block to produce an ARTIFICIAL RAT NEST, which will continuously spawn RAT PUPS over a period of time. You can harvest these rat pups by right clicking the nest. SCRAPPER: These are tough little bastards, and it shows. These savage looking rats have a multitude of uses. For one, they can attack mobs for 2 hearts of damage plus a poisoning effect. They can also be ordered to guard an area and will squeal as a warning of an intruder, they will also attack said intruder. They also have 5 hearts of life. ABOMINATION: Uh oh, you fed that little pup that nasty mushroom! These monsters are bigger than a wolf and far meaner! Basically, these are one of the wolf-esque dwarven pets you can obtain. They are created by feeding a rat pup a rare magical mushroom, the spectral shroom. They are about twice as large as the wolf and look even savager than the FIGHTER. Unless given specific orders, they will aggressively hunt down enemy mobs, doing four hearts of damage per attack. They can also dig through blocks, although the highest tier they can break is pure stone. They have 10 hearts of life.
CAVE WOLVES: Who said all wolves lived on the surface? Science you say? Pffft, screw science! These prehistoric beasts evolved differently from their surface dwelling cousins in many ways. For one, they are extremely fast to better suit the cave environment. For two? They've evolved a thick black coat of fur and glowing green eyes. They're also bigger than their surface dweller cousins and have an appetite to match. To tame these monsters you'll need to feed them either two rat pups or an adult rat. Their health can be restored with plain meat, though. Similarly to rats, you can breed cave wolves, although the results and process is very different. You see, you'll need to feed each potential breeding wolf a SPICED MEAT, which is made by combining two mushroom spores with a bone and a piece of meat. Then you'll need to put them into a small enclosed space. If they succeed, you'll hear a howl and a puppy will spawn. This puppy will act like a normal wolf, except they only have 2 hearts of health. Now, raising puppies is a tad different from raising rats.
ORDINARY CAVEWOLF : These are what happens if the puppy doesn't do anything during their childhood. They will grow into an ordinary cave wolf, with all that implies. Cave wolves have 4 hearts of health and attack for two and half hearts of damage. Cave wolves, like Scrapper Rats, can be ordered to guard an area, although they will bark and growl instead of squeal. ALPHA MALE: If the puppy kills atleast two things during it's infancy, they will grow into this. Although what qualifies as a puppy kill is rather lax. So long as the puppy gets two attacks in, it'll count. These guys are bigger, stronger and faster than ordinary. Thus they have 8 hearts of health and hit for four hearts. DIRE WOLVES: These are the meanest boys on the canine block. Created by a puppy getting five kills, these bad boys are even bigger than an alpha. Unlike other cave wolves, their eyes glow a bright red. They hit for five hearts of damage and move at 1x the speed of alphas, with a sturdy 12 heart HP cementing them as the top killers of the underground. HELLHOUNDS: You crazy *******! You seriously fed a wolf pup a bucket of lava? Really? Luckily, Minecraft is a game that rewards crazy! These guys are not to be messed with, outclassing even the dire wolves in sheer toughness. They have 15 hearts of health and do 10 hearts of damage per hit, plus an immunity to lava. Overpowered you say? How about if I told you that when a puppy grows into one of these bad boys, they are likely going to go wild and attack YOU? Not so eager now, eh skippy?
SPIDERS: Do these webshooting, wall climbing baddies even need an introduction? I'm afraid they do. Because now the spiders are on your side! Basically, WEBBING spawns near these baddies this time. Webbing can be destroyed with the chance of dropping 1-3 pieces of string. When you come into contact with webbing, you'll be slowed down to half speed. However, you'll need to brave this webbing to get to the EGGCLUSTER. When broken, the egg cluster will drop 1-5 spider eggs which you'll need, trust me. But before you can hatch these little guys, you'll need to craft a NEST, made of three pieces of wool. You can right click the nest to open a chest-like menu for you to place the eggs.
BORING TAME SPIDERS: If you let an egg hatch without doing anything to it, you'll get this. These spiders look like the standard enemy spiders, but with bright blue eyes. They have all the features of normal spiders, including the web spawning ability! Health is 5 hearts and they hit for 2. You can breed spiders by feeding two of them rat pups and putting them in an enclosed space. There is a random chance of one of them "vanishing" in the process, though. Either way, this will produce an eggsack. MINI SPIDERS: Surround a spider egg with other spider eggs and you'll get this. These little guys are very shy and timid and will stay where you place them, be it on wall, ground or ceiling. Then what are these guys good for? String production. They spawn webs MUCH faster than regular tamed spiders. They don't deal any damage and die in one hit. Can be picked up and placed via right click. HUNTERS: These guys mean business and that business is pain. These guys are produced via placing three eggs in a vertical line. Two of the eggs will die, though. But is it worth it, you ask? I'm here to say hell yes it is! You see, on top of having 8 hearts of HP and doing 7 hearts of damage, you can place a saddle on these bad boys and go for the ride of your life. They aren't very fast, though. Although with a wall climbing ability, who needs fast?
TALLSHROOMS: Ever miss the ambiance of a nice forest stroll? Well, now you don't need to! Simply put, these are huge ass blue mushrooms that grow similar to the height of trees. Unlike trees, they are, well, mushroom shaped. And they give off light! To get spores to grow these, you'll need to jump on it's head, which will cause it to drop 1-3 SPORES. These things also tend to grow in clusters and vary wildly in height. You can also chop them up for MUSHROOM SLICE, which can be eaten raw for 3 hearts recovery or cooked for 5.
CARP: You'll be scared to go in the water yet again! These bad boys spawn in water 3 blocks deep and have two methods of attack. One, they'll grab you while swimming and start chewing, doing 2 hearts of damage per hit. Two, they'll surprise you while fishing by dragging you in. If you kill it, you'll get a CARP MEAT BLOCK, which can be cooked for a full health recovery!
More to come when it's not 4 AM.
Thanks to dgendreau for his awesome suggestions!

Some initial suggestions:
Food:
Alcohol:
There should be some way to brew ale like:
Feel free to substitute stone for wood. This would make a keg of ale which would be a block that looks like a barrel on its side. Where is a bucket of water. It should give you back the empty bucket like the cake recipe does.
Like the cake block, you should be required to place this barrel block in the world before you can use it. Right-clicking the block dispenses mugs of ale from it which restore 2 hearts of health when consumed. The keg produces up to 16 mugs of ale before it is empty. Perhaps over consumption of ale should also have some negative short term side-effects? :smile.gif:
You might also consider breaking this down into a few recipes, for the empty barrel and a recipe to brew ale in the barrel. If you do it this way, make the barrel be a re-skin of the furnace, but you use a bucket of water for the "fuel" and wheat for the "ore" and you get up to 16 mugs of ale in the output slot. It should work slowly, perhaps taking at least one in-game day to "smelt" 16 mugs of ale. Instead of the fire animation, use something like small bubbles to indicate brewing is happening.
Down the road we could add other recipes for beverages that give more health. Perhaps even make a still.
Tools:
Anvils - In addition to the new stone workbench, why not make a forge and an anvil that are required to make the new tools? Or even different strength anvils for each level of tools? This will give the player more of a progression to make each improved set of tools. It should take a lot of work to build up to the infinite/fast glow/obsidian tools.
Decoration:
Stone Signs - You should include something similar to Bukkit's SignEdit plugin. That way we could create stone signs with colored and even glowing text on them. The game already supports colors and glowing, you just need a way to do it in the sign editor. Bonus points if you add an escape character to select a Tolkein Rune font: http://schools-wikipedia.org/images/912/91269.png.htm
World Generator Tweaks:
This topic is almost a mod to itself, so consider it wishful thinking for now...
Deeper underground - Move sea level from 64 to 96. This increases the amount of underground there is to explore and it allows for larger underground structures. It also keeps with the dwarves general disregard for the world above.
Huge Caverns - Not too many of these, but I can imagine once in a while digging a tunnel and breaking through into a vast cavern with luminescent mushrooms, big lava or water falls, lots of resources and mobs. These would be great places to clean out and carve into underground fortresses.
Huge Chasms - Similar, but not the same as above, these should be very deep(32-64), long(64-128) uneven cracks in the earth but only 8-24 blocks across. They may be tall enough to be open to the surface above and/or the abyss below. They may be filled with lava or water or even have dozens of mob-spawners at the bottom. I can imagine what it would look like to walk across bridges spanning these and looking down upon hordes of mobs or rivers of lava..
Let me know if you want me to do artwork for any of these. I can make the keg and the rune font easily.
More ideas to come...
Thanks to King Dedede for his mushroom ideas

(Can you please look at my other post? It's kind of important that you have a version without the ruins, so my PC can take it)
What about Dwarven Guidebooks? Like, for example, Mushrooms of the Subterranean World. It would look kind of like the Butterfly Guidbook in this thread.. Here is are some examples:
Nocturne Fungus Toxicus purpurea
<Shroom Sprite Here>
<Spore Sprite Here>
Edibility: toxic (heals -2 hearts)
Properties: glows violet in a 5X5 radius
Rarity: uncommon
Dwarf Thoughts: it is said that when the Creeprog (Balrog Creeper hybrid) was cut into centrillion pieces by Bofo's Grand Diamond Sword, his carcass turned into the Nocturne Fungus.
Southern Glowcap Toxicus veridi
<Shroom Sprite Here>
<Spore Sprite Here>
Edibility: toxic (heals -2 hearts)
Properties: glows lime green in a 5X5 radius
Rarity: uncommon
Dwarf Thoughts: I don't know why they call 'em 'Southern Glowcaps', because there is no such thing as a 'Northern Glowcap', and they seem all the more common in the north.
Brown Mushroom Minecraftus agaricum aperesurientes
<Shroom Sprite Here>
<Spore Sprite Here>
Edibility: inedible (unless made into Mushroom Stew)
Properties: can be made into Mushroom Stew
Rarity: common
Dwarf Thoughts: ever wonder why these guys are everywhere? Well I do, THEY'RE TRYING TO TAKE OVER MOJANG I TELL YOU.
Red Mushroom Minecraftus agaricum venenum
<Shroom Sprite here>
<Spore Sprite Here>
Edibility: inedible (unless made into Mushroom Stew)
Properties: can be made into Mushroom Stew
Rarity: common
Dwarf Thoughts: whenever I see these, for some reason I get a psychic message (from a bloody elf no doubt) telling me that these were poisonous in a world called, 'Survival Test'.
Tallshroom Supplices volant
<Cap here>
<'Stem' here>
<Spore sprite here>
Edibility: inedible (placing 'stem' into Flagons creates Spirit)
Properties: grows in a tree like formations. Is stronger than leaves, but not as strong as logs.
Rarity: somewhat common
Dwarf Thoughts: the true fungus of the dwarves! This beauty grows like trees in the world of humans and elves, but forests of these do not compare to their forests!
Soarshroom Supplices psilos
<Cap here>
<'Stem' here>
<Spore sprite here>
Edibility: inedible
Properties: grows like Tallshrooms, but when caps are stepped on, you bounce! They have blue caps instead of red
Rarity: rare
Dwarf Thoughts: boing!boing! boing! boing!BBOOOIIIINNNGG!
Reaper Shroom Ultraminecraftus agaricum igneomorte
<Shroom sprite here>
<Spore sprite here>
Edibility: inedible
Properties: the heat from the gills of this black mushroom will fuel furnaces it's so hot!
Rarity: uncommon
Dwarf thoughts: a common dare between young dwarves is to eat one of these, when eaten, it gives an utterly horrible burning feeling that continues for weeks! And this is the toughest dwarf in Marhguum you're talking to!
Spectral Shroom ???
<Shroom sprite here>
Edibility: inedible to dwarves, however rats can eat it
Properties: glows blue, turns rats into 'Abominations'
Rarity: very rare
Dwarf Thoughts: created by the dark wizard whatshisname! These mushrooms should only be used as decor, and I tell you that from my Iron Soul!
That's most of the shrooms I can think of at the moment.
Also, all the scientific names are from real Latin! Except for Minecraftus, I made that up, and psilos, that is Greek.
Also, I like Reinforced Stone, but it should be reinforced with something different than more Cobblestone.
EDIT: forgot to mention, I think there should be Silver Boats for Dwarvencraft. It's not like Caves are devoid of water...
AND thanks to everyone else who is supporting this mod. Without your support i would most likely abandon this project.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a list that will be edited from time to time that includes all of the ideas for this mod. Please post any suggestions for this mod.
Most things that are made with wood will be replaced so there is no need to post most of them here. Only things that are applying new and unique ideas will be posted in this list. If any questions feel free to ask.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--Tools can no longer be made with wooden handles. You can now make tools out of rods, which are made from each corresponding material e.g. you place a cobblestone block in the crafting square and you get stone rods to use for crafting tools. These rods will increase the durability of tools.
--Any material that can be used for crafting tools can be reinforced, e.g. you can take an iron ingot and reinforce it with other iron ingots to get a more powerful iron ingot for crafting. Reinforced materials will increase the mining speed of tools.
--Any Tools made out of wooden based things either wooden heads or handles will be significantly weaker than their dwarven counterparts.
--All tools will have their own unique dwarfy look to fit in better with the dwarven theme.
--Hoes will be replaced with scrappers, which could be used to scrape moss/lichen/vine type plants from the side of rocks.
--Axes will be replaced by Hammers, they can be used for either hurting mobs or mining.
--New glowing tool set with the same stats as iron but with the ore being more rare.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Block Based Ideas
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--New furnace made from iron ingots, it would smelt items faster and use less fuel.
--Crafting table made from four cobblestone.
--Two new types of chests, a small one made from cobblestone that cannot be made into a double chest and a bigger one made from smoothstone that can be used as a single and double chest.
--All blocks that you end up with huge amounts of e.g. cobblestone, redstone, and others can be made into block form for storage.
--New glowing ore for glowing tools
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Plant Based Ideas
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--Glowing mushrooms for food and light
--Moss/lichen for medicine
--Petrified underground trees
--Stone trees that grow ores
--Vines that grow on walls
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Item Based Ideas
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--Torches can be made from any rod and coal combined. Torches made from stone rods will give low light, iron rods would give higher light, and gold and diamond rods would give you more of the iron torches just in a higher quantity.
--Armor will be remade to look like it was made for a dwarf.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mob Based Ideas
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--You can give slime slime balls and they will become your pet.
--Bat mob that can be harvested for wool and bat guano can be found near it.
--Other dwarves that will mine around but leave ores alone.
--Zombie dwarves who were killed by zombies.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Other Non Categorized and Strange Ideas and Possible OverPowered Ideas
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--You can take coal and make a coal block, and you can take nine coal blocks and make a compressed coal block, and you can take nine compressed coal blocks to make a super compressed coal block. Compressed coal block will always drop two diamonds while super compressed coal block will drop a random amount of diamonds in between 10 and 30. Those are only dropped when they are destroyed.
--You take obsidian and make an obsidian block, then make a compressed obsidian block, then a super compressed obsidian block. When the super compressed obsidian block is smelted, it takes a whole lava bucket. It will give you a pure obsidian ingot that you will then have to surround by glowstone blocks to get a powered obsidian ingot. This can be used to make tools that will never break and are stronger and faster than diamond.
--Fragile rock that grows thin above cave systems. When stepped on it will break and you will fall into cave. You can use this weak rock to make glass from.
--Dwarfy record made from combining other two records with three diamonds.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
All of the above are just ideas and may be changed at anytime without warning.

WHEN WILL THE NEXT RELEASE BE?
Just a little update. I still have not organized the main post....to lazy. I fixed the drop rates of the super compressed coal making it 20 diamonds, added in a redstone block, dirt block, and sand block, fixed names for both the hammer and scraper (they said axe and hoe), added in new images for all of the tools for DwarvenCraft that were done by WildWild. These among many other things will be in the next release. Based off of what i am doing i believe that the next release will be THIS THURSDAY!!!. Before then i will be adding and fixing much in the game including all of the updates above i will be adding a gravel block, a cobblestone block, a stone block, a new glowing ore that makes a new set of tools that can glow, some new mushrooms, some glowing and some used for food, a fixed stone crafting table texture, a new iron chest that can be used as a double chest , fixing the stone chest so that it can only be used as a single chest, torches made from rods and coal with a working icon in your inventory screen, and anything else that i feel like adding. These things will be released Thursday night so look for them then in the V0.02 release.

Test Images For Thingies and Recipes Images for this soon. There is a new ore in game, a silver ore. You can use this silver ore to make silver ingots and from that you can make a silver block. When the silver block is placed over a pool of lava and a furnace is placed on top of it the furnace will be powered by the silver block indefinitely. The setup looks like this:
where = silver block

Thats it for now i have more ideas but they will put on later, this also is for mob ideas. Right now i will mainly be getting feed back from the community while working on things that i will be adding for sure into the mod.
Any help with modding or textures is appreciated though i may or may not accept your help. Do not expect me to send you source code just because you ask for it at most i will tell you variable names that you can use.
This post is very unorganized but will be more organized with pics and videos and just being more readable. Hope to hear from people soon!
Have any ideas not shown? Want to suggest an idea? Then click the post button! If i like your idea it may be added!
im a little slow didnt see the info in the other post i still love this mod and the only thing i can think of to add would be some kinda growing cave moss for food or some kinda dwarvenish lighting method by the way heres some :Diamond:'s for your hard work love this mod
some download instructions like what is needed, does it use modloader stuff like that and personaly im interested. another thing to add would be descriptions of what some of the new tools do like the scrapper by the way heres some :Diamond:'s for your hard work love this mod
I just made some edits to the diamond tools, I love your idea and think they looked amazing they just weren't my style. I wanted them to have an outline of stone to look more realistic and added some things to make the sword more sword-like and made the hammer a tad bit more axe looking.
Also my Minecraft crashes when I try to use the mod, other then that it looks like a really fun mod! I'm on Mac, deleted the Meta-Inf folder, put everything in and it should work but no... Maybe its because I am on the Mac.

I will show them to a friend or he will see them here and i will get his opnion as well but most likely we will be using it in the mod! I will make sure to give you credit. If you feel like doing any of the other textures that would be awesome.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--Glowing mushrooms for food and light
--Moss/lichen for medicine
--Petrified underground trees
--Stone trees that grow ores
--Vines that grow on walls
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--Torches can be made from any rod and coal combined. Torches made from stone rods will give low light, iron rods would give higher light, and gold and diamond rods would give you more of the iron torches just in a higher quantity.
--Armor will be remade to look like it was made for a dwarf.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--You can give slime slime balls and they will become your pet.
--Bat mob that can be harvested for wool and bat guano can be found near it.
--Other dwarves that will mine around but leave ores alone.
--Zombie dwarves who were killed by zombies.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--You can take coal and make a coal block, and you can take nine coal blocks and make a compressed coal block, and you can take nine compressed coal blocks to make a super compressed coal block.

Images for this soon. There is a new ore in game, a silver ore. You can use this silver ore to make silver ingots and from that you can make a silver block. When the silver block is placed over a pool of lava and a furnace is placed on top of it the furnace will be powered by the silver block indefinitely. The setup looks like this:
where = silver block

Any help with modding or textures is appreciated though i may or may not accept your help. Do not expect me to send you source code just because you ask for it at most i will tell you variable names that you can use.
This post is very unorganized but will be more organized with pics and videos and just being more readable. Hope to hear from people soon!

Thank you for posting it on both of the threads to make sure i saw it:). I love your textures much better than mine. I will show them to a friend or he will see them here and i will get his opnion as well but most likely we will be using it in the mod! I will make sure to give you credit. If you feel like doing any of the other textures that would be awesome.
Can you post your modloader log file? Its located in your .minecraft folder and the text file is called modloader post that text in here and i can help you out.
