I'm having the same problem. I am only using the 1.0.0 version of this and the 1.0.0 version of modloader. I get the 'done loading' screen, forever. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but I don't know what. Any help?
I got it working now. It conflicts with Single Player Commands, though, which is annoying. I don't know if that has come up before. They both modify di.class.
It seems the 1.7.3 version did not modify di.class. Does anyone know when the link to that will be fixed?
Hi, I saw that someone has done an ID resolver/4096 Blocks merger for 1.0.0, but I was wondering if there has been an update for said merger? I can't seem to get Minecraft to recognise the 4096 Blocks installation and something tells me it's because of ID resolver; much as I'd like to not use ID resolver, I have to have it to detangle the ID conflicts amongst my three dimension mods and the Extra Biomes mod. Does anyone have a solution or shall I just cut down on how many mods I'm using?
Ask the creator of ID Resolver to make the merger.
Ok, so people are still slamming the Dropbox links and not all of Robinton's mods & older versions are on his Mediafire yet.
So with Robinton's permission I am posting a link to a folder with some of Robinton's Mods in my mediafire account. It's not complete but it does have older versions of the Cubic Chunks mod as well as CoordsInfoMod & Flooded Mod. Let me know if you want older versions of CIM or Flooded.
I've just added v1.5.1 of Cubic Chunks for MC B1.7.3 to that MediaFire folder. It was the last version of CC to still have "Normal" Terrain (Almost identical to b173 Vanilla Terrain, though some occasional differences). It is one of the 65k versions.
v1.5.2 CC is there too. It was the First version to have custom PTM Higher Terrain in it, and also the last version for b173.
* I figure there will be people other than just me interested in these builds. :smile.gif:
Robinton; Would you be able to make an SMP/bukkit version of your FloodedWorld Mod for mc1.1? Or would that take too much time away from the deluge of CC work that's on your shoulders now? I suspect that there will be some especially exciting applications of FloodedWorld for mc1.2, and people will really be wanting an SMP version for that too. :smile.gif:

Sorry! for my lack of responsiveness on my thread over the past few days. It's been busy up until today, and today I've been working hard on updating the SaveConverter to support Anvil (and I added nice little tooltips for every menu choice; should be nice). I'll try to respond to everyone tommorow.

See if they both just work together. If they don't, what classes do they co-modify? If it's just yq.class (ItemStack.java), you might try overwriting the 4096IDs class. It ought to work, though it might not... Back up whatever save you first try loading (or create a throwaway test), and good luck!

ID Resolver overwrites the ww.class of Forge without using the new hook.
I think you might be right. Is this something to alert the ID Resolver maintainer about?
It seems someone has already posted on the thread about the problem and solution so it should just be a matter of time before it is fixed. I will be keeping an eye on the development.
So, anvil is Jeb's new idea for a chunk-level format in MC? It uses y/z/x arrangment and has 4096 block height right? So will it now be easier for CC to work? And also, WHERE ARE THE COMPRESSED CHUNKS.

Sadly, since you mention 4096, no. It's only 256 high, which is still a great improvement. But it allows for 4096 BlockIDs, items and such.
Compressed Chunks! Exactly. Even Jebs Anvil needs something like that. I went up to 256 in 12w07b and couldn't see the terrain below in Normal view mode. A compressed far view has been needed in Minecraft since forever, and now doubly so. :wink.gif:

Query: Are the Robinton4096 ids being stored/extended the same way jeb is doing things? And if not will you be making a Robinton4096 - Vanilla4096 converter?

what if each chunk made a 16x16 texture on the x,z plane, where the blocks defined the colors of the pixels, when you get far enough away, it changes the the texture. that would work well for above. the side is a different story. you would maybe just make some dark blue tiles in someway to show the skyline.
Since we don't know when Minecraft 1.2 will go out, would it be possible to have a merge patch for the 4096 block id patch and minecraft forge? Because it is currently incompatible (even with the removal of l.class and vq.class (which cause an horrible icon bug) the conflict with aal.class make the game crash when breaking a block). It's just that I don't see the point of having more block ID without forge to support all these new mods. Thanks anyways :smile.gif:

@MineCrak: Thanks! I'm pretty sure I could read all of your post, but the posts that quoted yours were messed up, so thanks for quoting them!
@Bumber: Agreed.
@Grypher: First of all, please don't get mad because I disagree with you. I don't get nearly enough debates, and I'm delighted to get a chance at one!
"Evolution and Natural Selection only affect that which is hereditary, they have nothing to do with belief as they taught, not inherited which pretty much kills C.S Lewis’s argument." So, you're saying that intellect and logic (and the capacity for those) are non-hereditary? Then why haven't dolphins (or something of the sort) developed radios? Or Minecraft? And if they are hereditary, then C.S. Lewis's argument still holds water.
This is getting a bit long, for the sake of those who want to skip the debate, I'll place the rest in a spoiler:
"Also, there is a difference between a baseless belief and a scientific fact." True enough, as far as it goes.
"God is a belief with no actual evidence or prove as to his existence." That depends. If you assume God does not exist (as most, but not quite all, scientists do), then of course you don't find any divine activity in the world. But if you study the world without assuming atheism, "Let there be Light" sounds an awful lot like an ancient description of the Big Bang, and Jesus fulfilled an awful lot of prophecies (which can be proven to have been made before the fact).
"Evolution on the other hand has been proven in patterns in biodiversity, fossil records and shared DNA sequences and traits which are more similar in organisms sharing a recent common ancestor." You could very well be right that Evolution is well proven; it doesn't really matter one way or the other to Christianity; not if God can issue prophecies, and so on. But really, I look at the same sets of data, and come to a different conclusion. Explain the Cambrian Explosion to me. Also, Human DNA is apparently ~50% the same as Banana DNA. (I consider Human DNA being ~70% the same as Chicken DNA to be only natural, considering what cowards we (myself all to often included) are.)
"Its even been demonstrated, mainly in the mutation of viruses resulting in new strains resistant to antibiotics." Viruses are technically non-living, but even there, how many examples can you come up with of a virus actually mutating a new ability, as opposed to merely losing whatever ability that originally allowed the antibiotic to attack it? Maybe quite a few, I don't know. But I haven't heard of many.
At the end of the day, I'll require Evolution to prove itself before I accept it, but I don't really care that much one way or another. It can't explain the initial origin of life (prebiotic soup theory was abandoned years ago), and even if science manages to explain everything that has ever happened in the world (which I rather doubt; Jesus's resurrection looks very miraculous), it rests on several philosophical presuppositions (which are actually false if something like the Matrix is true; fortunately, I doubt the Matrix, but still... how would we know? except possibly philosophy?).
"And for something a little more on topic, good job on getting 4096IDs in Minecraft, I cant tell you how long I've waited for something like this. Also how well does Cubic Chunks play with other mods which also alter world generation, like RedPower, IC2 or the ExtraBiomes mod?" Thanks! And Cubic Chunks plays fairly well with them, as long as they use the ModLoader Chunk Population hook. They will generate ores correctly in Vanilla range, and probably not at all in the rest of the world. If they modify ChunkProvider, CC is probably not compatible...
@4C51: Thanks, but my internet filter doesn't like imgur, and I'd prefer to be able to see my own pictures... I might end up using it anyway, but it would be a hassle... And space exploration is exactly the idea! :biggrin.gif:
@Kainzo: Thanks!
@lilmikey: I think I've fixed that since.
@MineCrak: Nice! Let me know if it grows any. :wink.gif: Or if anyone wins it!
@bearbin: Thanks; I know! See @4C51, four responses up.
1. Is CC currently compatible with Terrain Control, or are there plans for supporting it? Or are you cooking up your own terrain generator? I apologize, but after watching the videos on youtube of 4000 block high mountains that were present in previous versions of CC, I have resorted to carrying a bucket around with me to contain the sheer amounts of drool escaping from my mouth.
2. Now that jeb has implemented 256 block worlds, he must have added 256 high vertical view distance, right? Does that mean CC will be getting *proper* cubic far view distance some time in the future?
P.S. I loved your debate argument. I only found one problem with it. Antibiotics generally affect bacteria, not viruses.
Robinton: When are you going to add "Phoenix Terrain Mod" Setting back into CC, and when/if you do, would you mind adding .bob support as well? I have a list of ideas I've always wanted Minecraft to have implemented as default, and CC was one of them. PTM was another, though admittedly lower on the list. I await the return of CC, for the release of 1.2 seems to be coming soon.
And, about your debate... Evolution doesn't prove Christianity wrong. It just provides a tool god could be using to create new life. So it doesn't really matter if it's true or not, it has little to do with the existence of a higher being or beings - Just a though. (Just because I said this does not necessarily mean I believe it. I'm just throwing a twist into it all.)
Maybe its just me, but I don't need to analyze the possibilities of my origin to enjoy the things that I like in my life. Like Mineraft. I like Minecraft. And I like the modding community that comes from Minecraft. Like Robinton. I like all the work that Robinton puts into the mods. I'm sorry about that. I got sidetracked with the ACTUAL topic.
(I didn't say this to offend in anyway. I was just wanting to divert the topic back on topic.)
You could very well be right that Evolution is well proven; it doesn't really matter one way or the other to Christianity
Not so.
Christianity sits of the foundation of mankind being descended from one man who was created in the image of God. Death entered the world as a consequence of man's actions (specifically the first man and woman eating the forbidden fruit). Also, after finishing His creation, God declared it 'very good'.
This is entirely contradictory with the evolutionary concept of mankind's origin as a result of a process of death, struggle, survival of the fittest, and gradual improvement of lower lifeforms. For starters, it puts a whole load of death, disease, and suffering before the first sin, as well as before the world was declared 'very good'. Also by removing the literal first sin of the literal first two people from which all are literally descended, the Gospel of Christ dying for all makes no sense. 1 Corinthians 15:22 says "For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive." That doesn't work at all if we are just the lucky highly-evolved decendents of some grunting creature that was also the ancestor of all the other primates. Plus in Mark 10:6 Jesus himself stated, "But at the beginning of creation God 'made them male and female.'" Within an evolutionary framework, male and female started a lot closer to the end than the beginning, and a lot closer to the end if you're only referring to humans. Actually Jesus did mean humans since he was actually giving an explanation of the origins of marriage and divorce (basically saying that God only allowed for the law to permit divorce because of the hardness of people's hearts, not because He wants divorce to occur). In fact, without the Biblical foundation of marriage that Jesus is referring to here, the whole concept falls apart, which is why so many people in the modern world want to redefine marriage their own way: their entire worldview is built on foundations that do not all fit with Biblical foundations. Plus the entire point of evolution is to remove the need for God to be relevant.
(Actually plenty of evolutionists have said outright that evolution negates all meaning of the Christian gospel. It's a pity that more Christians don't realise this.)
Anyhow, you did make some very good points, such as antibiotic resistance always being a downhill change in terms of only being a destruction of existing features (or a chance in frequency of existing features) rather than creation of anything novel. And yeah, the similarity of DNA in different organisms is to be expected, since we're built of the same components (which is why we can eat a chicken, and why we have similar diets to monkeys!), plus a lot of the numbers (some people have claimed humans have 98% similarity to chimps) are based on imprecise methods that miss a lot of differences, plus even if we did only have 2% difference, the human genome is just over 3 billion base pairs so 2% of that is a lot!
tl;dr Evolution being true makes Christianity nonsense. (Or it would if it was true but it doesn't make sense itself anyway.)

Oh come now; the Sumerians, whose ancient tablets were the basis for Moses altered version of Genesis in the Christian Bible, tells us exactly how we were created. If we are going on the authority of how old a document is, then the Sumerians have everyone and every religion on the planet beat. :wink.gif: Especially when you can look at hard (stone tablets) evidence that Moses just rewrote the original accounts of our creation from Sumeria in a way that served his purposes at the time.
He was raised by the pharaoh and trained by the High Priests which had access to all those writings at that time. Moses himself was recorded as being an Egyptian Priest by Greek historian Strabo, an Egyptian Priest who was dissatisfied with the established institutions in Egypt and led a group of people away from Egypt to start a new culture with all that he had learned.
But enough of that. Just had to throw that grenade into the ring. :wink.gif:
