then obviously you didn't follow the tutorial correctly, tell us how you installed it.
I first downloaded UniversalFiles and then I downloaded the Forge Universal, opened the Forge Universal zip, went to .minecraft then to the bin folder, and opened the minecraft.jar, deleted META-INF, dragged in the Forge Universal files, went back to .minecraft, and extracted the paintball.zip from the UniversalFiles into my mods folder. I had no paintball cfg folder so I didn't have to delete that.I'll try the process again to see if it works.
This mod has potential to be a really good mod, if you fixed all of the bugs with the c4 and claymore, and maby made a config file, so you'll be able to set the dam/Range/speed yourself. And other user friendly tweaks, But as it is now, sorry but nothing i'd play with more than a few hours... Me and my bro got all irritated because of the constant crashes, and that you cant place the clamore or c4 in a quick move around an obstacle, the rightclicks wont work after an object cooldowned,etc.etc...
I've created a map made of all wool, and sometimes when we place claymore's/C4 alongside of a wool wall, the explosives "die", and also sometimes the "placeables" gets unable to interact. Maybe their timer is broken so it never "rearms" even though it shows full cooldown,
can you also make a config file, so we can set the Damage/Rate of Fire/protectile speed/etc?
also i would like to request:
1. Spawnpoint blocks,
2. Custom weapon racks(sets which weapons to get)
3. Deletes the items upon death, instead of dropping them.
Also here's a crash report:

The problem with Damage, etc configs are that when in SMP, I think the damage differences between the client and server would glitch out. If it took the damages of the server, I think that would be a good idea.
Also, could you please go into a little more depth on how to recreate this bug?
I have been working on a command block paintball PvP map for a while now - I want to release it soon but I want to know if anyone would like it before putting it on mediafire - or giving the map to a experienced map developer.
