IMHO, this is probably one of the most interesting mods for Minecraft, as it makes so that you actually have to think and worry about the properties of water (rain problems, floods, non-infinite water, etc.). I've downgraded to 1.5.1 when i learned that this was updated...
While you're at it, would you please take a look at the sponges? They don't seem to be working...
Updated!
Unfortunately I had to drop Forge support. I did all the work to port it twice, both to ModLoader and Forge. But no matter what I did the Forge version kept crashing. I just don't have the patience to figure it out, I've ported this mod so many times I'm completely tired of the process.
But I'll keep the main version up to date when I get the time. Enjoy!

Nobody is using modloader, 99% of the mods are Forge, so you should try to get the Forge version working again
Nooooo.... 95% of the people who plays and have modded minecraft has Forge.. Some persons can't make Forge to work with their minecraft, that's why they're using Modloader..
Well if someone wants to offer help in porting it to Forge that would be great.
At the moment, I'm way too frustrated to figure it out again. I set up everything like I did before, spent hours porting it, and ended up with a mod that wouldn't load. I don't know why it won't load, and the documentation for Forge is scattered and hasn't been too helpful so far. I just don't want to dedicate a whole week or more to figuring out the quirks. If someone can port it Forge properly, I'm sure I'd be able to upkeep it from there.
You guys have to understand, I've been porting these mods for like two years now. It wears you out, especially when you haven't even played Minecraft in a long time. I got used to the process so I can continue to port this way, but it is a lot to ask for me to learn an entirely new framework in my spare time for free.

Come on man, you're such a great guy! Don't give up now, we all believe in you!!
We love this mod, it changes the game in such a major way as you know, there is none like it.
If you give up on us it's like Batman giving up on Gotham city!
You've done it so many times already, it's LIGHTWEIGHT for you I bet and learning new things is what makes life seem longer and the main reason old people have their 20's more present than the rest of their lives - don't stop mate, we're all supporting you. I would even donate! No giving up man, come on! BE STRONG
Edit: Just remembered, there are a lot of mods out there that use forge and most of them don't come close to yours in difficulty - if they can do it so can you! Come one mate lets do this!
You should make contact with the FTB team and creators of great mods like IC2, I am sure they can help you alot, and maybe make your mod compatible with theirs and included in the FTB packages.

Yeah, you don't have to do it for free! We will donate for the cause because that's just how much we care about it! I would rather not donate, but if need be, I will. (I have never donated to a modder before; I don't exactly have a fixed income)

I totally get where your coming from. Its like when I had to run a popular server for free and kept getting complaints of things that could be better, or time issues. I too just don't have time to spare! Thanks for this great mod as it is, I would like it in Forge, but that is, as you said, just frustrating and too much to ask. Thanks again with what you have done so far, anything is still amazing :).
I looked through the past few pages, and can't figure out what you're replying to. What are you suggesting?
I replied to what I quoted. Someone said that Mojang would never include the premise behind this mod because too many people like infinite water. Considering it could simply be an option, it would appease people in both camps.

They will never add it, they dont even add the most must have mods like optifine,smartmoving,dynamiclights,...instead they add a horse and a new redstone device...if you use mocreatures or redpower2 you have all that + 1000 items more...they should be using all their time to make a good mod api and then all mods can be made without any problem, including this one.
I hope it will work for multiplayer soon, and maybe for 1.4.7 ?
and the ultimate dream is that it would work with the energy mods like ic2, then you could make a real dam to create power
also with mcedit you can change all the water in your world with this water

Yes, that is VERY true!!

You should, and you should also have a look at FTB mod packages, it adds 10000% more content then vanilla has...
not for forge...
