Because this mod is so popular now, the developers have a responsibility to keep it updated. You may argue that they don't have to, as it's their will. Well then they should let someone take over. Many members of the computer rely on this.
No they don't. You know that sp614x does this because he wants to and like it. He could just stop right now and never even look at this thread again. He's doing this for free and becuase he wants it.
Anyone thought about testing the current version on MC1.1? No? Didn't think so. Well, I just did with the multi thread version and it works just fine. So, for all that are impatient, the current version of Optifine does, indeed, work with MC1.1.
Hey there! I dont know whether or not you check your topic posts because theres like 536 pages. but I would like to take some time to thank you.
First of all I love having the ability to control my laptops power usage when playing minecraft, (fastest settings ) I also really like the ability to load hd texture packs
without a patcher. (<-Amazing) Then theres the almost INFINITE settings to change almost ever visual aspect. having worked in Java for a while and trying to even
make the simplest of mods is tough. I just want to thank you for taking time to make an absolutely quality mod that makes minecraft run like it should out of the box.

yeah actually i did.... i get a black screen after logging in.
This is exciting! I have been experimenting and have gotten a little confused, though.
I have 2 ATI Radeon HD 5770's in CrossfireX and a 4-Core CPU. I have been getting good results with the Multi-core version, but I am unclear if it is offloading some of the work to a secondary CPU core or GPU. I have 2 GPU's in each of my 5770's, so I would really like to offload as much as possible into those instead of my CPU that is busy updating the entire map.
Also, I would like to try the AA version, but I fear losing the performance gain I get with the Multi-core version. Is it possible to get the advantages of both? I like AA and my cards work well for it in other games, but when I force them to AA Minecraft I get a black line around every block. :sleep.gif:
The multithreaded version is to split up logic stuff between CPU cores. Specifically, to send chunk loading to core 2 so core 1 can focus on block ticks, entity updating, that kind of stuff. Instead of one core doing everything every frame, the tasks are split up between all of them.
I'm fairly sure even VanillaCraft will use as much GPU power as is available and needed (not sure about a Crossfire setup though, I only have an ATI Radeon Mobility HD 4250, extremely entry-level according to the Shogun 2 Steam Forums)...

Um... It freezes on the Mojang logo. I checked the error log and got this:
Exception in thread "Minecraft main thread" java.lang.VerifyError: (class: abe, method: init signature: ()V) Register 2 contains wrong type
at net.minecraft.client.Minecraft.a(SourceFile:257)
at net.minecraft.client.Minecraft.run(SourceFile:644)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:613)
I am running a Mac OS X 10.4.11 with no other mods installed. I used MCPatcher to install OptiFine. Gonna try installing it the old-fashioned way now.
EDIT: Ok now I have a blackscreen with this error:
Exception in thread "Minecraft main thread" java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: zh.setTileSize(Lnet/minecraft/client/Minecraft;)V
at net.minecraft.client.Minecraft.a(SourceFile:254)
at net.minecraft.client.Minecraft.run(SourceFile:644)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:613)
I will ._.
Take a chill pill.
Yeah, just SPAM the thread with that off topic crap.
MCnostalgia.

Relax, it's just a game.

I don't even understand how that could work? All the class names have changed.

Don't really know what this proves, but, okay.
You're right cpfc. Because F3 shows the version number for Minecraft and OptiFine.
And my eyes hurt from that first picture.
