For those that are familiar with the Extended Connected Textures; I'd like some help.
So, in my texture pack all the logs have shadows on the edges to make them appear more "curvy" and when I place the logs vertically, I've connected them together smooth them out as if it is just one giant log. My issue is is that I want the default horizontal logs:
but instead I get something like this:
This is my code. I'm afraid I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
Clear water creates grass under water. Disable it.
It doesn't create grass, it just makes the blocks transparent, such as a sheet of glass. The grass grows over time.
If you want to see through water easily, (this works with lava also) turn fog OFF.

Just wanted to drop a note saying how much I appreciate optifine. I have a laptop and desktop, both are used to play minecraft depending on where I am. With my laptop I manage to get up to 80 fps (a feat with only 1450 mb allocated to java) and with my desktop I can use hd texture packs, fonts, random mobs, far view, basically maximum settings and still get 120 fps. Without optifine it's still only 60 fps for reasons I can't comprehend. Anyways, great job on this wonderful mod and keep up the good work.

Add a button to disable Optifine. You know, for comparing no-Optifine, with Optifine. Btw nice new update on the 1.3.1 Optifine. My doubled FPS turned into a tripled FPS.

I must be doing something wrong. I have an HP DV6 laptop with dedicated video and I can't get minecraft to go above about 20 FPS. I use this laptop for gaming and I've never had an issue with FPS. I've used all the optifine's for 1.3 they all work the same way. The only way I can get over 20 is to turn render distance from normal to short, but i'd really like to be able to see past my nose. Any help would be appreciated.
Awesome Mod! But I have a problem when i use my Texture packs such as Dokucraft or Sphax, when i'm far away ( which means like ten blocks away.) you can't see the detail in blocks from the texture pack but when I get up close you can. This never happen before until I installed Optifine. Please assist thank you.
I've got an odd issue which I'm not entirely sure is OptiFine related, however I've seen old posts linking thins type of problem to OptiFine in the past.
At any rate, the issue is that models (players, mobs, chests, and so on) are being textured with what seems to be miniaturized portions of the texture pack - including animations (I have an animated Enchanting Table, and the animation cycles in the glitched area).
I've tried: Updating java, updating LWJGL, updating OptiFine, disabling various OptiFine settings, disabling various mods (not OptiFine), using default textures... Nothing seems to fix the issue.
I used to have lag spikes in Minecraft but now I don't! This is insanely easy to install, easy to use, and it boosts Minecraft performance incredibly! Thank you OptiFine!!!
People with "blocks look bad from far away" - have you tried lowering or turning off mip-mapping? Mip-mapping reduces the quality of textures at a distance to try and eliminate the Moire effect - it also has the side effect of making distant things look like muddy blurs.
Hey, i totaly love this mod *o*, without it i couldnt play minecraft D:
But i got a question, The Ultra Verison doesnt work for me D:, Are you going to update the Standart Version? That worked very fine for me

If you have a separate, dedicated graphics card, you will need to set Java to use it through either the Nvidia or AMD control panel. Otherwise it will default to the integrated chip.

Don't use Multi-Core rendering. Fixed. I'd noticed a similar thing happening with older versions.
Still hanging out for Custom Skies feature.
This is not an Optifine issue. You need to edit the ctm.png file in your Texture Pack to omit logs entirely.

Any help would be most appreciated. Possibly of note is that the -same- setup worked fine on a Win7 x64 laptop.
