I use basiclly the defualt textures with a few tweaks. when I load the texture pack with a few tweaks my lava and water aren't animated anymore other than the currents in it. It works fine with out this installed. Does anyone else have this problem? Its not that big of a deal and have been playing for a while with it and just noticed.
Okay. It appears to be working. The texture errors on the mobs seems to happen when a new chunk was generate. I would like spawn a pig, and to show up fine. Same for any mob I spawned. Then when I when to explorer a part of the map I've haven't been too, boom, the mobs textures looks messed up.
Also, I think I had a old options.txt from 1.1, that have had something do with it.
Do this way... Open the normal Minecraft Launcher and then do Force Update. After that, you'll have a clean minecraft.jar.
Then go into your minecraft folder and install the Optifine manually. In case you don't know how to install mods, here's a guide
Inside of the minecraft.jar, there'll be a folder called META-INF (in capitals like that). Delete it and then run your minecraft using the Magic Launcher normally.
I found the Force Update button, and when I clicked it it said "Will Update" and did nothing. My mods are still there, and nothing seems to have changed. Thanks for the help*, it sounds like that's what should happen but I'm not sure why it didn't...

You have to sign in for minecraft.jar to overwrite. Also this method only re-downloads stuff in the bin folder.
I'm having some problems with the mipmapping setting. Whenever I turn it on, random dots appear between blocks when viewed from oblique angles. Screenshot:
It's similar to the infamous lines-between-blocks glitch, but not as bad. The dots stay constant as long as the view does (meaning, if one does not look or move around, the dots will not move), but they randomly change when the view does.
If I attempt to force anisotropic filtering via AMD VISION Engine Control Center, the problem becomes much worse. Observe:
The dots become full-blown lines, characteristic of forced anti-aliasing. Thing is, though, anti-aliasing is NOT being forced (via the control center, at any rate). Its "Use application settings" box is checked. Adaptive anti-aliasing is not enabled, either.
This system is running Windows 7 64-Bit, and its graphics card is an AMD Radeon HD 4830, running the 12.2 Catalyst Software Suite. These problems existed under the 10.10 driver as well.
I'm using Magic Launcher 0.97 to launch Minecraft (1.2.3). Here are the mods I have installed:
LWJGL is up to date at version 2.3.8, and I'm using the latest Java 7u4 and Java 8 developer previews.
The mipmapping setting works fine on my NVidia system (with two SLI'd GTX 460s) with anisotropic filtering enabled. I'm pretty sure this is an AMD-specific issue.
I have no idea what is going on, but Minecraft won't run at all when I try to load a map. Vanilla, OptiFine, nothing. I've tried using Magic Launcher .0.9.7, the default.
For the first few times, I get an error message. After a bit I don't get any.
This is the error I get.
Any help would be loved.

EDIT: Something else that I forgot to mention. I was playing Minecraft fine until I realized that I had accidentally deleted the OptiFine ZIP from my downloads. When I downloaded it again, that's when it started crashing.
I just downloaded the magic launcher and apparently optifine conflicts with modloader. It says i have 5 errors. Anyone know how to fix this or what im doing wrong? Also apparently Optifine and Modloader share the vh.class file.

So you're saying Minecraft doesn't work whether or not OptiFine is installed? Optifine is irrelevant to your problem and you're looking for help in the wrong place.
I actually did install optifine after. it still gave me the 5 errors thing. i then tried optifine first, and it told me that modloader had 3 errors, but minecraft still worked. not sure what happened.

Well, that's odd. I have both OptiFine and ModLoader installed on one of my systems and they don't fight with each other...
I got optifine C light and im not getting any improvement to my fps its actually lowering my fps can anyone tell me what i can do to get this mod to help my fps?

If you're running Minecraft 1.2.3, you shouldn't be using OptiFine Light. It hasn't been updated for 1.2.3 yet.

The very first group of spoiler tagged text in the OP (under "Features") lists all of OptiFine's features, including everything that it supports.

yeah... well it all seems to be working, so thanks anyways. Weird.
Can I have any help, I want the maximum FPS possible, and I think I might be able to get Multi-Core, because I have 2 cores.
