So releasing updates for older Minecraft versions is still desirable. It's a general "reason" for updating any mod for MC versions that aren't the current latest. There may be specific reasons for any particular update, like sp614x provided
Its now built into Optifine . There is a an Overclock option under gaming in the new AMD Crimson Panel . You will have to test for stability after setting .
Okay so I overclocked my GPU. I'm still not sure which option in Optifine or in the AMD control panel would allow me to disable threaded optimization in 1.7.10. Please let me know the specific option and its location if it is available. I'm not having FPS issues per-say, but would like to have the multi-core feature without having my blocks glitch like that.

I believe for AMD users, it's called "Multi Threading" in the CCC. For Nvidia users, it's "Threaded Optimisation" in the NCP.
Hey, I'm having another problem with Optifine and wanna see if anyone can help.
Thanks to whoever helped me get it working on 1.7.10, but I got a new problem: The 'Lazy Chunk Loading' setting has decided to stop turning on!
I was able to turn it on and off a day or two ago, but since I last turned it off, it doesn't wanna turn on anymore. I constantly click the Lazy Chunk Loading button and it's stuck saying 'Off' no matter what.
Does anyone know what's going on here? I have no idea why it won't enable again...
Lazy Chunk Loading is only active for single-core CPUs, even when it is ON.

I'm playing Attack of the B Team which uses version 1.6.4. Optifine has removed versions as old as that from optifine.net/downloads. I have not been able to find a reliable download. How do I get version 1.6.4?

Damn I don't think AMD supports that feature. Looking through the AMD Radeon control panel there is no option with the word "threading" even in its name. Here are some screenshots of all the options I have http://imgur.com/a/puqw7
I have a slight issue. When I load modded minecraft (Forge 1614) through the vanilla launcher, I see the text at bottom-right of the main menu that says the Optifine version (I have 1.7.10_HD_U_D3), so I assume it's been loaded. However when I enter the video settings menu, I cannot see the normal Optifine settings; instead I only see the vanilla minecraft visual settings. My FPS is somewhat lower than what it normally is with Optifine installed as well I looked back through the last couple pages of this thread, but I couldn't find anything yet. I'll keep searching for any information on this, but I wanted to post this here meanwhile in case anybody had a quick answer.

It says this weird thing for the version in the bottom left, and I have no extra options in video settings.

Are you using the vanilla launcher? Any mods? In the report Grum thought it was a non-vanilla launcher.
Its Magic Launcher that's causing it.

I have error while starting game: http://pastebin.com/hzFAMHvX
OptiFine HD U D3
Minecraft 1.7.10
Forge #1614
Make sure there is only one OptiFine jar file in the mods folder.
