Since Optifine 1.4.2, Optifine has dramatically decreased the spawning of enemies. I have confirmed it is optifine and no other mods because i created a new .minecraft and added just optifine, went onto a superflat world, waited for night and then saw how many spawned. There were around 20 enemies per 200x200 area. I still use optifine because it increases the FPS of my minecraft a lot, but the lack of enemies is quite annoying. I have also tested optifine with pixelmon, which held the same result.
I don't know if it is just my computer or my minecraft, but it really is a problem.

I noticed whenever I have optifine installed and load up a texture pack, the mining texture is absent and instead I get a darker shade of the block I'm mining. I usually go with a 64x Texture pack, but tried it without optifine and instead just used forge with a 32x pack and it's fine.
Obviously I would rather have optifine to take advantage of the multicore and all.
I'm using Optifine HD D3 with Minecraft 1.4.5

4 Gb ram

I cant generate world on my mac with just optifine and mod loader
install optifine after modloader and create a new world and wait a minute. There's still a bug where you fall into the void and when the world loads you get glitched in blocks and you have to destroy the one under you to be free.
Suggestion: What if you can turn features on and off? For example, a texture pack I use doesn't support Connected Textures, so the glass gets overridden by default connected glass. Help!

You can turn Connected textures off under Options>Video Settings>Quality.
I am attempting to use this mod. Performance on my laptop is abysmal, so i'm hoping to make minecraft playable on the go.
Environment:
. Toshiba Satellite laptop, Mobile Intel® 965 Express video card
. Clean download of minecraft 1.4_01

Results:
As _soon_ as the world loads, one frame is drawn, and minecraft exits to desktop.
Any thoughts on what i can try?

lol jk, try installing the light version then before entering the game, go into options in the menu and change the graphics to the optimal settings.

I have read through a few comments and cant find anything about blocks in close chunks going invisible, I am using a 256 texture pack (R3D craft if ur interested) and inventory tweaks though the problem started before i installed inv. tweaks, my friend tried it with magic launcher and says he hasn't got the problem and i cant find a bug list anywhere :/ it is playable but quite annoying when the blocks you're standing on dissapear. I origionally installed it like you would a normal mod (put all the files in minecraft.jar and delete meta inf) and I came across the bug, then I installed mod loader to see if that would help. i have now tried installing it following the instructions but no luck :/ I am using optifine ultra. it also seems quite cheety because even though most blocks go invisible, chests and player heads dont which can be exploit on the occasion that the bug happens. the boarders of these invisible sections seem to be the size of chunks if that helps. I don't want to use something like magic launcher. if anyone has a fix, I'd like to hear it

I've got a bug report. I'm running Linux Mint 13 64-bit, OpenJDK 7 64-bit, and the latest version of LWJGL. With Minecraft 1.4.5 and Optifine Ultra D3 manually installed (no other mods) and the default texture pack, everything's working fine except for some weird glitches with entity and tile entity textures occasionally disappearing. It varies which ones disappear, but is consistent within a single run of the game. It also is not necessarily an entire texture; for example, cows might not have legs, or creepers might only have legs. I've also had chests disappear entirely or lose their lid. I've tried toggling most settings and it doesn't seem to have an effect. There's also no error messages or anything out of the ordinary on the command line when launching the game. Have you heard of anything like this before? Do you have any suggestions?
