- fixed BetterGrass to work correctly: option "Fast" as HD_B, option "Fancy" as classic BetterGrass
- added options to turn off the sky and the stars, this might help on slower computers.
- inclues all changes from HD_B which includes all changes from HD_A which includes all changes from all prevous versions.
Okay, so I love this mod; it kicks me up from 8-12FPS all the way to 20-25, which, given that I'm running this on my great-great-great grandfather Ishmael's toaster, is a huge improvement. I do, however, have a problem.
My server, on which I am an OP, uses colored text to distinguish not only between OPs, Admins, and normal users, but also between worlds. We run Multiverse. In the normal world, a non-mod has a white name, in another it's gold, in another it's purple, and so on. However, it would appear that this disables colored text. How do I fix this? As an OP, I need those colors badly (especially with the prevalence of nicknames, so I can tell that someone else is an OP even after changing their nick).
I would greatly appreciate some assistance.
This is probably in the FontRenderer, you can try installing without the "sj.class" and see if it helps.

Well, I turn off animations on my netbook, being as I want every possible FPS I can get . . .
These settings, along with the 256 MB memory adjustment for Java, seem to give me 10 to 20+ FPS on a netbook in most cases, which is about as acceptable as you're going to get on such a limited machine.
NOTE: If your machine is powerful enough, set "Performance" to "Max FPS." My main machine screams at 600+ FPS sometimes with this turned on and placed on the same settings as my netbook (although usually I have it on much higher settings).
EDIT: Do "Max FPS" on a netbook too, it's fastest. Makes the game very much playable!
You will of course want to tweak it however you like, your mileage may vary.
My computer is pretty good, but it seems like my FPS as actually dropped with this mod. :/ I used to get 20-25 ish on normal and now I'm down to 14.. I have everything set to fast and animations shouldn't matter since I used to run it at 20-25, so I decided I could leave those, it looks nicer anyway. And What does mipmap do? should I turn it off or turn it up? Same with preloaded chunks, I was thinking that preloaded chunks would help but I don't know. And also what about smooth FPS? I also put fog start at the lowest setting as well. Does autosave effect it? I have it set to 2s which is default.
EDIT: Sorry I didn't see the pics I'll look at those.
With optifog + optimine while exploring some block's graphics are gone. This isn't bothering me much since I don't explore unless I make a combat training server(Just go mob hunting for 2 hours with hacked but weak items, You get pro when you do that) and even then its not causing much trouble, in fact I enjoy my day staring into black caves and looking at the diamond near the lava... in my training server... :\
So far so good though. Not much FPS lag on normal unless im in intense combat with 4 skeletons(Never could have done that without this mod, Seriously I'll fps myself to the corner of minecraft).
Thankyou for allowing me to disable animations as well, underground cave + watter causes hell to me. And Lava animation is a small price to pay to keep that 36 iron I found instead of burning to death. Torch animations causes some lag when I build up my home as well. Im bookmarking this mod, Keep up the good work!
With Optimine HD_C it makes CTM mod glass act different like not all connected how it should be with optimine HD_B looked fine how you get it and fix it EDIT: it only happens on fancy not fast
Thank You So Much!!! I Have A Windows 7 Labtop And It Used To Lag My Minecraft Like Crazy
So I Got This Mod And My Lag Spikes Are 10x Smaller! Good Job!!!
So many new posts - replying to somebody a page back or so . . .
And What does mipmap do?
It tries to make the game go faster at the expense of using more memory. If you're running a system without a dedicated video card and with limited memory, I suggest leaving it off. Netbooks should leave it off - it seems to slow them down when on.
Same with preloaded chunks, I was thinking that preloaded chunks would help but I don't know.
Again: Memory/speed tradeoff. On a memory limited system (like my netbook), leave it off. On netbooks, turning it on to any level slows it down.
I've tested the settings as much as I can on my netbook, and the ones I showed in the screenshots are as fast as I can get (with the exception of switching "Performance" to "Max FPS").
And also what about smooth FPS?
Leave on. It removes lag spikes caused by a known bug.
I also put fog start at the lowest setting as well.
I haven't played with it, and didn't really need to. I'll see if I can play around and see how it affects my FPS.
EDIT: It has negligible impact on the performance of my netbook.
Does autosave effect it? I have it set to 2s which is default.
Autosave might cause a slight delay, but usually doesn't affect anything. If you have a sync program like Dropbox, then I'd suggest making it longer.

Any chance to fix it? I love both mods
no, but they're compatible if modloader is installed before optifog/mine

This is what happened when I install it.
Any ideas?

Try turning off Advanced OpenGL.
Check out my thread suggesting new possibilities for pressure plates, buttons, and switches!
i have a pretty beefy computer (for minecraft atleast...) [windows 7 ultimate 64bit 4gig ram, 1gb ati radeon, 3.2ghz dual core)
mods i use: zombemod, zanminimap, toomanyitems, texturepack (hd fonts/texture, better grass)
i want the most options for configuration - but also want the best (prettiest) results
Still not working.
optifog/mine HD_C is the newest version. it has all the settings A and B had and more!
