I was really hoping 1.8 would have enough of an fps boost from the changes that I wouldn't need to depend on optifine for an FPS boost (though still would get it for the additional customization once it finally updates). Do you know what they broke to completely ruin the FPS boost change and drop me back to sub-10 fps by 1.8's full release?
I might just have to play on the snapshots or something. >.<
Well, I believe they updated, changed or rewrote their rendering system. Since it is only the first release of it there may be some more optimization to add in coming updates.
FYI, the current latest version, compatible with Forge 1180, is also compatible with 1217, meaning you CAN use it with the current version of TerraFirmaCraft.
Heres my final Fix for OptiFine 1.7.2, It works with IC2, RailCraft & Forestry.
This version is pretty stable, but note that several features are removed in order to make it compatible.
ConnectedTextures & anything related to this wont work.
All performance options and tweaks will work.
This version will not crash your game if you enable any options but note that if you do enable removed features it will make no difference, It simply wont do anything.
I hope that sp614x can make an official fix as it would be very much appreciated amongst all of us.
Glad to see that 1.8 progress is coming along smoothly. I've been getting decreased framerates in 1.8, almost to the point to where the lag annoyance is making the game unplayable. Optifine is going to be my saving grace.

In short, since over a year ago, unless you specifically deal with an oldschool base edit mod ... YOU DO NOT TOUCH META-INF. Nope, never, nada.
Optifine is an in-jar base edit mod (if you want to install it without Forge/Liteloader) but it has an installer. You use the inst6aller, you don't touch META-INF.
Seriously man, you need to start actually thinking about what you're posting. You mass post almost exactly the same thing on numerous support threads, without bothering to check what's the issue.
forge loads it auto, you just put it in the mods folder and bam it loads it.. no need to install it inside a " jar "

If you are running java 8 switch back down to 7.
One of the java 8 updates did this to me.
This link seems to be broken, do you think you could fix it?

this will be an awesome update. It's already at 30%.

The blogspot link is very outdated. Just a heads up.

No, you definitely should not delete the META-INF inside of Optifine.
--My PC --SEUS 10.1 Fixes --SEUS Water Fix --SEUS 10.2 Preview --MultiMC 1.8 Shaders Fix (Not needed if using Forge)
I would suggest you not ask for that to be deleted. It is essential for optifine to have this.

Is it because of my crappy computer, or the mod that has a problem?
PLEASE HELP!!
I am not mentioning that OptiFine should be deleted but I am saying about deleting the META-INF folder in ZIP file in order to make it work.
They were talking about the META-INF folder.
forge loads it auto, you just put it in the mods folder and bam it loads it.. no need to install it inside a " jar "
That is the file that ALLOWS it to work. Now please, read up on your Java a bit more.
