Has anyone ever got their optifine cape removed? I'm getting kinda tired of mine, and the option to disable it in-game isn't working for me, but I don't want the cape to show up to other people with optifine either (I think they will still see my cape even if I disabled it with that option?). I'm not seeing any option to turn it off on the cape customize page. I emailed their contact email, but not sure if that gets checked or how long it takes.
Optifine keeps causing Thermal Expansion to glitch out
I contacted the guy in charge on Thermal Expansion and he said that it was being caused by Optifine.

Ok. I've read through what seems like hundreds of posts and pages. I've googled, I've searched this thread and the forums. I've found every tweak imaginable, and while I have improved my problem, it's still an issue.
Slow Chunk Loading. It's really troublesome! I do not get the flicker bug. I have threaded optimization off and advanced OpenGL disabled. My chunks load slow, and sometimes they won't appear until I walk ontop of them. If I am on a boat, the terrain directly under the water may not load, but I can still see through and see lava/caves/mine shafts/etc. If I swim down, the chunk will appear as it normally should.
Problem Persists in Single Player.
PC Specs:
AMD Phenom II X4 955
Nvidia Geforce 460

General Information:
I am connected to a dedicated server that is on a 100mbit line, using spigot.
Steps I've done to attempt to remedy the issue:
Attempted to connect on a separate computer on the same internet connection. The problem is not present.
Disabled Optifine and launched vanilla minecraft. The problem is not present.
Disabled my network connection and moved around. (See below for notes on this)

When I disable my network connection. I can move around, and the chunks will still appear. I seem to receive them properly, but for some reason optifine does not display them until I walk near or on them.
The problem does not happen on Vanilla MC on the same PC and on the same connection. It only appears with optifine.
I have certainly gotten it to work better, quite a bit better. But the problem is still present, albeit a bit more tolerable with my tweaking.
If I stand still, the chunks may or may not load by themselves. However, if I walk or fly very close to them, they will appear. If I disconnect my network connection while the chunks appear like this, and then walk to them, they will still load. This is not a problem with receiving the information from the server.

I just found out that FTB is running with 45 fps without optifine and with 20 fps with optifine. Vanilla works as it should but in ftb, optifine is actually decreasing fps. Anybody knows why?
Just got back to Optifine, only to find out that it messes my texture pack... all of my texture packs in fact.
And not on animated texture like it could be expected by on normal ordinary texture like wood and stone...
So dunno what's happening by taking the mod off until someone explain me why it's so messed up...
Just wanted to pop in and let people know its not always optifine you know, mmmPowersuits tinker station glitch can be easily fixed by turning off her special renderer for text in the config file (stupid anyways IMHO hi res and MC is a oxymoron) as far as Twilight forest ive had no problems, also have had none of the other problems mentioned in this thread for 1.5.2 maybe is a FTB bug those guys are not gods you know they make mistakes, my mod pack (around 48 mods) for 1.5.2 im running ive only had the powersuits bug. optifine is currently having a bit of issuse with forge but geez give the man a break im sure hes working on it.
The biggest problem ive had on 1.5.2 is the out of memory java crash after 50 or so mods installed so i had to pick and choose wich mods were must haves untill stuff gets worked out. im curious how many mods is FTB 1.5.2 running? i havent looked as i dont play FTB but id like to see what they have running together if someone has a link for the beta 1.5.2 pack
For some reason my minecraft keeps on crashing whenever I install the latest optifine version for minecraft 1.5.2, I have tried all of the different versions Ultra, Standard and Light but then when I try to open up a world it says "Downloading Terrain" then displays this measage for a good 10 minutes, then crashes.
Please someone help!
P.S. I am using a clean vanilla minecraft with no other mods installed other than optifine.

True, mmmPowersuit can be fixed with that option. But most UE mods such as Mekanism, ICBM, MFFS, etc are not compatible with the current optifine version, D3.

It's probably the shaders that are causing this glitch. Try to see if you can cause the same glitch without them. If so, try Optifine Standard.
EDIT: Sorry for double posting, it's not merging both posts as I expected......
Is connected textures just not working or am i doing something wrong. in 1.4* there was a file called ctm.png. i currently have that file in the same location as particles.png (the top-most folder of a texturepack) and connected textures set to "fast", but no avail. changing to "fancy" doesn't work either. what am I missing? thanks, if you can answer.
It would seem the most recent version of Forge used in the Mindcrack pack has broken Optifine. The issue caused is a misread of all Most textures from Industrial Craft, Gregtech, Buildcraft, etc. As well as completely removing the graphical options menus that Optifine adds.
Any chance theres a fix incoming? Without optifine there are several players on my server who will be unable to play.
Fixed.
"Chnk Loading -> Default" should fix it
Tried that. Still glitches.

I've disabled the shaders too, the problem persists. I've had this problem since the dawn of optifine.
The "ctm.png" is no more, MC 1.5 uses separate textures.
Have you checked to see if your graphic drivers are updated to the latest firmware?
Any chance theres a fix incoming? Without optifine there are several players on my server who will be unable to play.
Can't believe I missed that one
Oh well... That should fix the problem for him/her.
