can I be sure if I log on the website optifine, my minecraft account will be safe after that?
Read the login page carefully once more. You do not put your Minecraft/Mojang login credentials in there.
Also I just found an interesting bug. What I did is:
increased render resolution in shader settings to 2x
increased screenshot resolution to 4x
tried to take a screenshot
and that not only produced a fully emply/black screenshot, but also wrecked the game's performance, from good 60-80 fps with shaders enabled, down to 5 fps. Had to restart the game.

Higher shader resolution and higher screenshot resolution both need more memory. The game is not crashing because the java and native memory are separated, most probably OpenGL has returned "Out of memory" and a black image.

Ah yeah, I checked the log, that's what's coming up:
[14:32:13] [Client thread/ERROR]: ########## GL ERROR ##########

At first I thought it's RAM that's being used to take the screenshot, so I tried to increase it even up to 6GB but it didn't help. Only then I realized it may be VRAM you're talking about, so I started up GPU-Z and I checked. Heh, I didn't believe Minecraft would ever use that much VRAM... Looks like my 4GB graphics card is not enough.
Should have checked the logs first, thanks anyway.
Basicaly... the old way as described in the MCPatcher guide (https://bitbucket.org/prupe/mcpatcher/wiki/Biome_Palettes_(Grid)) no longer seems to work. - that is the 2nd way, on how to make all colormaps be read as GRID / with making a single color.properties file located in the "...assets/minecraft/mcpatcher/color.properties"
So I've been having an issue with shader packs where there are these mysterious shadows that follow me around. They appear in every shader pack, but some have more of these shadows than others. I have not yet found a way to disable these shadows short of disabling all shadows. I fear that these shadows are cloud shadows, a feature which Optifine is supposed to be able to toggle, but has been broken since 1.8.
If it's within your power, I would appreciate a fix very much.
Really loving the dynamic lighting feature! Optifine has always been a must have mod, and only keeps on getting better!
Regarding the dynamic lighting, is there anyway to boost the light radiance, adjust range, etc? And if not at this time, would you consider adding the option for users to adjust the dynamic lighting thru an ini file or ingame slider?
Thanks again for your fantastic mod and for your continued dedication to the Minecraft community and your fans!

The dynamic light range is adjusted to minimize the chunk updates. Increasing it will lead to significant lag (chunk updates x 4).
Does anyone here has an issue with Minecraft window going black after leaving fullscreen mode? If so, could you tell me what's your graphics card? Because I'm suspecting it may be happening only on Radeon RX480. Github issue: https://github.com/sp614x/optifine/issues/428

Link to the resource pack?
Custom Sky description: https://github.com/sp614x/optifine/blob/master/OptiFineDoc/doc/sky.properties
It should work identical to MCPatcher's Better Skies.
OptiFine usually complains in the game output (error log) if there are some problems with the configuration files.
How do I install Optifine in the Curse client? What folder location should I use?
Thanks

Anyone Managed to get this working with resonant rise 4? I've tried a few things to get it installed.. But i've failed miserably..
Trouble is where i use the ATlauncher to get RR4 running, i don't know what i'm doing..
Any help would be greatfully recieved..

Oooops:
welp, looks like I'm retarded! thanks!
How to run with MultiMC?
Installing Forge should probably be easier to do. After that, you can just throw the OptiFine.jar file into "mods" and that's it.

Hey sp614x, is there a way to fix Minecraft's fov in 4:3 resolutions?
I fully quote... I got problem with compatibility Forge + LiteLoader + Optifine. So need only LiteLoader and Optifine.
