hi, am i the only one with a new render distance error in 1.7.10 A4 Ultra?
Vanilla 1.7.10
Forge 1180
Optifine A4 U; render distance: 20
--> nothing else
This was a problem in 1.7.2 Vanilla: Rendering stops at 8. But here it is weird, because some chunks beyound still render.
I tried without Optifine, only with Forge 1.7.10 and there it's all ok. So it seems to be an Optifine error.
EDIT: seen render border may be more than 8.
EDIT2: Never ever try to reset video settings
hi, am i the only one with a new render distance error in 1.7.10 A4 Ultra?
Looks like a more extreme example of what happens to me.
When I tried OptiFine with Forge for Minecraft 1.7.10, I had bad experiences with rendering beyond about 16 chunks as well.
I had to give up on using Forge, which is a shame because I waited so long for the Better Grass & Leaves mod to update, and a successor instead came out for 1.7, but now that happens if I use Forge. However, sometimes it also messes up without Forge, although it's less often than "always" and seems to only happen in less frequented areas. In areas I frequent, it works fine. If I go somewhere I haven't often been (but it has been previously generated), I can get this.
Once I venture close enough, it shows up, and then from then on, always works right, but it's still frustrating. If I exit the game and reload, the same chunks that didn't show still don't show, and the ones that did still do, so it's somewhat consistent and not fully random. It's been like that in every OptiFine version since 1.7.4 released for me (not counting 1.7.2 since anything beyond about 8 chunks didn't work since that was a bug with Minecraft itself).
Forge is still in Beta, try getting that creator to fix the issue, cause I dont know, my pc is too slow to go that high on distance...
The issue which you have with the map is not the map I'm betting, even though you are correcting it by taking it off... I'm betting it's the shader or whatever version you use, cause I never had this problem and I never had my game look that cartoony...

if im right the EULA only disallows ingame stuff (made by Mojang) the cape is part of a mod so i don,t think it is affected by the EULA.
Mods are included in the EULA; after all, they are based on Mojang's code (be glad that they even allow people to decompile and mod their game; the EULA for most software explicitly forbids this):
So the one major rule is that (unless we specifically agree it – such as in brand and asset usage guidelines) you must not:
give copies of our Game to anyone else;
make commercial use of anything we‘ve made;
try to make money from anything we‘ve made; or
let other people get access to anything we‘ve made in a way that is unfair or unreasonable.
…and so that we are crystal clear, what we have made includes, but is not limited to, the client or the server software for our Game. It also includes modified versions of a Game, part of it or anything else we‘ve made.
Any tools you write for the Game from scratch belong to you. . Modifications to the Game ("Mods") (including pre-run Mods and in-memory Mods) and plugins for the Game also belong to you and you can do whatever you want with them, as long as you don‘t sell them for money / try to make money from them. We have the final say on what constitutes a tool/mod/plugin and what doesn‘t.
And yes, this includes getting a "free" cape for donating - as that is really buying something if you donate to get it. The only ways to make money are through ads, selling cosmetics, or charging everybody for access to a server (either everybody pays or it is all free). Although a cape seems more like a cosmetic item to me so I'm not sure if they are actually excluded.
I have a question though and I am hoping the community can help me with. I am running Minecraft v1.7.2, heavily modded, and with some custom resource packs. The issue I am having is Optifine is causing Birch leaves to render in black, the only way to fix the issue was to disable Optifine. I am sure this is a transparency layer issue and I see that this was addressed here:
The problem is of course that I can not get that to load on 1.7.2. Is there any alternative to get this working while keeping 1.7.2. I won't leave that version as nearly every mod used on my server only goes up to that version. Thank you in advance for any help, pointers, and tips.
Edit: I should note that I am using the latest version of MultiMC to launch, but I have not had an issue launching Optifine with it at all (unless of course I try a version past 1.7.2 for Optifine).
Incredible mod and thank you very much for it, but lately I've been having a problem where I'm using 1.7.10 HD A4 Ultra and the chunks flicker or disappear for several seconds. It happens frequently just walking around doing my daily business whether it's the Overworld or Nether.
Its vanilla Minecraft with no mods (except for this one of course). If someone has already had this issue and its an old post could they please redirect me? Cheers.
I'm 90% sure that the issue resides in one of the Resource Packs and not from Optifine.
You most likely have a pack that has the old version of MCPatcher's biome palette format.
...
Thank you for the reply. I was thinking along the same lines myself but I am simply not as well versed in the intricacies regarding the interaction of packs with MCPatcher, Optifine, or just about anything. Learning more every day but still a long ways off from knowing what I am really looking at sometimes and trouble shooting it.
I just recently had the same issue, happens when loosing health in water, someone before also mentioned this happens when hit by a potion from a witch, this too has happened to me... It goes away after a minute... not entirely convinced it's an optifine thing but please prove me wrong...

Why cant every mod be this way. Ive been trying to download different mods for DAYS NOW and I got optifine in just a minute or two and it worked as it said it would in the forum
Using Optifine A4 for 1.7.10, being loaded by LiteLoader. Also, I seem to get a lower fps with 1.7.10 compared to 1.7.2.

When I exited the game, I got a GL Post Render 1285: Out of memory error.
I'm using optifine for minecraft FTB Monster 1.6.4, whenever i turned on the advanced openGL settings to either fast / fancy i have some weird graphical glitch on entities.
Example: villager could lose their head / leg / arms, chest missing some of their part, and players losing their arms.
is it have something to do with my graphic card? I have ATI Mobility Radeon HD3650 graphic card
Something's wrong. I have nVidia GeForce GTX 770m with 3gb video memory using Minecraft 1.7.10. I'm using GLSL Shaders mod and Sonic Ethers Unbelievable Shaders. I installed Optifine on Forge and started changing the video options after starting up Minecraft. It says "downloading terrain" for like three minutes then crashes. Here's the report:

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
I have a question though and I am hoping the community can help me with. I am running Minecraft v1.7.2, heavily modded, and with some custom resource packs.
