Is it possible to add a borderless fullscreen (borderless window) option into OptiFine for the game? That would be super useful for anyone using multiple monitors.

Is anyone else having an issue with the game taking forever to visually update pistons and the blocks they push? It's really annoying with my flying machine. I've tried all sorts of settings, but nothing fixes it. It doesn't happen at all in vanilla.
Is Optifine for 1.8 completed or is it still at 90%? Because a lot of people told me it's completed but the first post still says 90%.
As you will see right under the update progress, there is a preview of Optifine for 1.8. It's almost completely bug free and as stable as 1.7 optifine but not completely just yet. Those people were probably referring to this.

The preview is stable and working fine, but it is not feature complete.
These are the current open points:
- chunk loading - the option is not needed currently because the optimized chunk loading is always on, fallback to vanilla chunk loading makes no sense because it is awful and smooth and fully multi-core are currently not possible.
- some of the custom colors - to be done
- natural textures - may be replaced by alternate blocks or not
- AA/AF - may not be possible with the 1.8 engine, needs some testing
- translucent blocks - probably not needed anymore, the optimization is always on
- load far - it will probably have to be removed, not really useful in 1.8
- fast render - this is probably not possible (or too complex) with the 1.8 engine, the vbo option adds additional complexity. The visibility culling of 1.8 makes it less relevant.
- lazy chunk loading - too complex and not very useful in 1.8, smooth world is more useful
- weather and time - to be done
- custom item textures - prepared, need some testing with 1.8, there will probably be problems with the Forge compatibility when Forge 1.8 comes out
- trying to squeeze some more performance, reduce the memory allocations and smooth the FPS
I may fix the easy features (custom colors, time and weather), disable/remove the not working/not needed options and just release it.
Is there a way you can Improve world teleporting and respawning time?
In 1.7 optifine i respawned(or teleported in a new world) in a half second or even less
in 1.8 Optifine it needs as long as in vanilla (3-4sec)... Thats really annoing
The telepoting delay is caused by the integrated server. It has a delay before starting to load chunks at the new coordinates.
This may be related to the background IO thread which is loading the region files asynchronously, probaby its queue is too long and needs some time to flush.
Not something that OptiFine can fix easily.

I can't play realms with optifine, anyone else got this problem? The real problem for me is, without Optifine, I can't play Minecraft
Re-run vanilla minecraft and then run the optifine installer again. (Mojang puts out micro-updates that they don't announce, which is what causes this error)

I suspect you didn't know that the latest version of forge is #1236.. so compatibility with #1180 doesn't really do anything.

As you will see right under the update progress, there is a preview of Optifine for 1.8. It's almost completely bug free and as stable as 1.7 optifine but not completely just yet. Those people were probably referring to this.
I think it's a Forge<->Optifine thing, has nothing to do with TFC.
Approve this.
Can upload screenshots and logs if needed.
The preview is stable and working fine, but it is not feature complete.
These are the current open points:
- chunk loading - the option is not needed currently because the optimized chunk loading is always on, fallback to vanilla chunk loading makes no sense because it is awful and smooth and fully multi-core are currently not possible.
- some of the custom colors - to be done
- natural textures - may be replaced by alternate blocks or not
- AA/AF - may not be possible with the 1.8 engine, needs some testing
- translucent blocks - probably not needed anymore, the optimization is always on
- load far - it will probably have to be removed, not really useful in 1.8
- fast render - this is probably not possible (or too complex) with the 1.8 engine, the vbo option adds additional complexity. The visibility culling of 1.8 makes it less relevant.
- lazy chunk loading - too complex and not very useful in 1.8, smooth world is more useful
- weather and time - to be done
- custom item textures - prepared, need some testing with 1.8, there will probably be problems with the Forge compatibility when Forge 1.8 comes out
- trying to squeeze some more performance, reduce the memory allocations and smooth the FPS
I may fix the easy features (custom colors, time and weather), disable/remove the not working/not needed options and just release it.
In 1.7 optifine i respawned(or teleported in a new world) in a half second or even less
in 1.8 Optifine it needs as long as in vanilla (3-4sec)... Thats really annoing
The telepoting delay is caused by the integrated server. It has a delay before starting to load chunks at the new coordinates.
This may be related to the background IO thread which is loading the region files asynchronously, probaby its queue is too long and needs some time to flush.
Not something that OptiFine can fix easily.

I suspect you didn't know that the latest version of forge is #1236.. so compatibility with #1180 doesn't really do anything.
When it says 'compatible with version #XXXX' then you should use that version to avoid crashes. He's working on the 1.8 release.
