anyone able to have their capes show on 1.8? recently donated for an OF cape but it's not showing on my player :
sp614x isn't a Mojang employee, he can't alter your vanilla Minecraft player.
OptiFine capes are only visible to people running the OptiFine mod, which hasn't been released for 1.8 yet.
And before you ask, we don't know when it'll be updated. sp614x is waiting for MCP (The Minecraft Coder Pack) to be updated, which could take any amount of time.
Very few mods can be updated without MCP.
It was said by Grimallq, a while ago in this thread, that CIT was already being worked on to be implemented in Optifine.

Is cape changing broken? I've been trying to login with my account and it's telling me that I have invalid credentials, however they work just fine on minecraft.net.
ah, thanks for that. I thought the cape thing would actually work fine in vanilla, didn't know it was strictly mojang in the options >: (

Can you add an option (even if it's just a number you can change in a text file) to increase/decrease the render distance and max amount of particles?
I have found both these numbers in the default Minecraft files and it's a pretty simple change, but I've failed to make these changes stick with OptiFine.

Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god. MCP Update! Soon we can play again Minecraft! To be honest, 1.8 sucks really(unable to play with render distance greater than 24, Teleport backs, cant destroy blocks etc.)... optifine is the last hope for me/us!

Hello! I am having a slight problem with the installation of Optifine. I am playing FTB Mindcrack and have tried everything I could think of to install it. I am using the latest version of 1.4.6. Ihave put in the zipfile of Optifine in the mods folder all 3 editions (Ultra, standard & light) none of them work. So I read around and saw a mention of placing it in the coremods folder. So I tried that with all 3 editions, and it didn't work. I then read some more and discovered .jar of it and tried the same process over again (Editions and Coremod folder) Nothing is working. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am at my wits end here lol
frome what I can gather without being directly involved, we're only a month or two from MCP and FML updating. it's impressive how quickly work is being done considering just how much has changed with 1.8. It's really exciting!

Does anyone know why when I use the 1.7.10 version of optifine, the world loads like this:
As opposed to this, which is without optifine:
Those missing chunks in the distance never get loaded no matter how long I stand there, they only load once I start moving close to them, so as you can imagine the world at a distance always looks really ugly. I'm using forge 10.13.0.1180. I took all my mods out so I'm not sure what else could be causing this, unless it's just a problem with optifine itself at this version.

Because you don't really want to donate. You have to donate out of love for the button to work, not greed of a cape.
