Nice mod, I have been using it for i while instead of MCpatcher. Straight to the point, I have Pure BDcraft x256 texture pack and my minecraft freezes and crashes as soon as i click on the Mipmap Level, anisotropic filter and the antialiasing buttons. It is obviously not running out of memory since I use it with the more memory code. What causes the problem? (EDIT: the texture pack is not x128. it is 256 but that still doesn't fix the problem)
I recently started using MultiMC but I am unable to add Optifine to it. It says it's added, but I'm not seeing any changes to Minecraft. How do you add Optifine to MultiMC?
Can anyone fill me in on how to make randomized textures for 1.5+? Previous versions(1.4.7-) used multiple texture pngs but thats not really an option anymore =P
Another question: The "Time" setting under "Other" cycles through four options: "Default" -> "Day Only" -> "Default" -> "Night Only". Why are there two options called "Default"?
Also, this setting claims to only work in creative, but that's not the case - it affects my survival worlds too. Which is the intended behavior?
Ok SP614x, big problem with the latest versions, turning the debug profiler off doesn't do anything, it always resets to ON whenever I exit the menu and come back. Please have that fixed.
I think i may need help with something thats confusing me in the compatability section for this mod. In the compatability section it says when installing OptiFine together with other mods always make sure to install OptiFine last. The only exception are mods which are designed to be installed after OptiFine and say so in their install instructions. It also says if you need Forge: Install OptiFine AFTER Forge. I downloaded and installed Forge but have not yet added other mods but do plan to. So my question is do i install OptiFine now since i installed Forge or do i install it after the mods ? Also would it be ok to simply install mods on top of OptiFine unless told not to do so by the mods install instructions ? Any help is appreciated thanks for your time in advance.

Open multimc, right click on your minecraft installation, and click edit mods. Make sure you're in the jar mods section, and click "Add" in the right hand section. Navigate to where you downloaded optifine, and double click on the file. Close the edit mods window, and run. It should work ;D
Before 1.5 I used optifine modloader and rei's minimap and they worked together. Now when I tried to again I get a black screen when trying to run them together. I believe it is an issue with modloader because I tried just optifine and modloader and I still got a black screen.

just to be sure, did you install in the correct order (installing optifine after modloader)? if you did, i can't think of anything else, as i just tried exactly what you described, and i didn't blackscreen. hope it helped

how do i know if i installed this mod correctly? does it appear in the mods section? if not a more detailed instructions for manual would be helpfull, thanks
stormageddon747-just look for a lot more options in the "Video Settings..." menu. If you see chunk loading options in there, you did it right. and btw the reason why it wouldn't appear in a mods section (such as forge provides) is because it's a standalone mod
If I place any custom block from Metallurgy (That's mints, lanterns, chests, basically anything place-able that's not a block) into the game, I start getting weird defects in the models of random mobs - And the player model for that matter.
Every part of the model just kind of flattens out.
I have no idea if it's something you can fix, but RebelKeith suggested I post it here.
it helps but i donated and I'm the only one who can see my costume cape. they have optifine. in game name is rojomojo22
If you can see the cape, then everyone with OptiFine should be able to see it.
Some servers may modify the username (truncating, adding tags, etc) and then the cape may not be visible.
I've noticed an odd bug / conflict between the latest OptiFine and the developer versions of Metallurgy 3 (https://github.com/R...thy/Metallurgy3).

There are two defaults so that it is possible to change time once and then continue with default.
In C9 the time control has a bug and is also active for survival, fixed in next version.
Hi sp614x,
Can I use your amazing optifine mod in my modpack, SMUCRAFT: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1779481-
It is a modpack that has a lot of mods, which needs optifine to stop it from lagging, I would put your name a a link to this thread, so they know its your mod, would you allow me to use this mod?
Thanks for your consideration,
William Bradley

SP614x, is it possible this problem will be fixed? I'm not sure if it's Forge breaking this or not.

This is only for jar mods. Mods that go into the "mods" or "coremods" folder are not affected by this.
Install only mods that are compatible with Forge. Either those that do not alter the same base classes, or that are compatible because they have the same forge functions in their versions.
Next, install Optifine.
The issue, simply, is that Optifine wants to modify a fair number of base classes. If any other mod alters the same base files, then that mod is not compatible with Optifine without some merging work between the two authors.
Ideally, you just won't use any mod unless it is compatible with both forge and optifine.
Installing OF last means that it won't be broken by an incompatible mod, but other mods might be broken by OF.
The last time I saw a mod that said "install me after OF'" was a much older version of Light Level Overlay.

Is it possible that on your website we have an option to disable our capes temporarily?
