Sadly it doesn't works with Forge or Modloader for me... It throws me a black screen after the mojang logo. I deleted META-INF and installed it after ModLoader / Forge.
Can someone help me? there's a bug when using Optifine and Rei's minimap, I posted info and pics in post #25754 but got no answer
it didn't happen back in 1.3.2.
PD: it also happens with Zan's minimap, but just the "only showing the rendered part"

I have used optifine multiple times
but i have installed it always using winrar but it expired
so now i used 7-zip and it crashes everytime i join a world/server
There is a bug with Optifine and Rei's Minimap there is a glitch where depending on your render distance the map screen will be that big, and when walkking around the map will expand making it look awful, picture:
sp614x please allow the Feed the Beast launcher to include optifine to its mods. it allows gammers so much more ablitily to play the games and unfortunatly most people dont know about it unless they are told about it. (did not know about it till much much latter on) thank you for your time.
Nvidia drivers 306.97 (Which are the latest). I will try without multicore tomorrow to see if the problem is fixed, but multicore loading is one of the main reasons why i'm using optifine..
I have a Nvidia GTS 250 (With the lastest software for it too) and doesn't work with this Multi-Core/Smooth chunk loading. And I'm having the ticking screen crash too. I'm doomed. '-'
why doesn't it work I might just have to play with out it im using optifine 1.4.5 HD_U_D3

We Live In A World Of Hope, Weather You Grasp That Truth Or Not!
I think that you need the top/bottom in the block47.properties file (which currently works), but put the code for the sides in a terrain35.properties file. In other words, the top/bottom is a "block" property and the sides are a "terrain" property.
Yes, you are correct. That's how I set it up; I apologize, I didn't think that detail was important. I just mean to point out that horizontal works fine for terrain.properties, but it does not for block.properties.

Also, for the people having issues with Forge it should be noted that this version of Optifine is for Forge 393, so I can't understand why you are choosing to use an incompatible build and claiming it doesn't work. Here is a link to the list of Forge builds, please download the correct one: http://files.minecraftforge.net/
--
As for people having problems with multi-core; its not a requirement. If it doesn't work, just switch it back to smooth. I know, I know, we all have amazing computers that should totally be able to run feature X and of course 'multi-core' sounds way more swank than than using a single-core so you naturally MUST USE IT. Try switching back to smooth.
--
All in all, most of these issues should be fixed by using the correct version of Forge and not using Multi-Core. I honestly hope this can fix some of your issues, but if it does, please be more careful in the future. 1.4.5 has enough issues of its own, no sense in compounding them with bad settings and incompatible versions.
Hello all, i seem to be having a uncanny problem getting MCForge and Optifine to play nice.
Error: Exception in thread "Minecraft main thread" java.lang.NoSuchFieldError: ofCustomFonts
A note beforehand: I always install MCForge before anything else unless its a special case.
MCForge Versions Tested: 6.4.0.393 (Majority of the tests), 6.4.0.394, 6.4.0.395, 6.4.0.396
Solutions Tried:
Using launchers such as MagicLauncher/MultiMC.
Installing MCForge before Optifine (ofcourse).
Installing Optifine before MCForge.
Replacing the minecraft.jar.
Totally replacing the .minecraft folder
Force updating.
And a few other minor things (Like not transferring my Texture Packs back into the TP folder right after a fresh install).
Please keep in mind that i am only installing MCForge and Optifine, nothing else.
So, I'm considering switching from MCPatcher to Optifine because I hear that Forge doesn't usually work with MCPatcher and I'm planning to install a few mods. Does Optifine include the better skies? It looks like it has everything in MCPatcher, except that.

When adding Optifine_1.4.5_U_D3 to a minecraft-1.4.5 jarfile after ModLoader and AudioMod, I get normal "Debug Profiler" behaviour. As soon as I add liteloader, that goes out the window, and the Debug Profiler setting is "stuck" to "true". I approached the author of litemod, he tells me that as 1.4.5-U-D3 uses its own method to disable the Profiler altogether (and I assume, enables it again when toggling the button in settings), liteloader has to revert the behaviour so things won't break. I'll include his excerpt below:
This isn't a bug it's the intended behaviour to work around the problem of Optifine disabling the Profiler. If Optifine left well enough alone and just used the default Minecraft behaviour then there would be no problem, but it uses its own method which disables the Profiler altogether and therefore I have to revert that setting to prevent it breaking the Tick callback used by LiteLoader. Hopefully at some point he will remove the deprecated behaviour and revert to the default Minecraft behaviour.
Long story short: it's a bug created by Optifine that I had to work around.
Incidentally, I noted that it doesn't matter what order I install Optifine or liteloader into the jar file. I normally run this stuff with skmclauncher instead so I don't have to touch the base jar, but I stuck things in a jar this time for debugging purposes. I got the same behaviour with skmclauncher, just for your notes.
I have used optifine multiple times

Ok winrar, though expired, still works perfectly after you click close. re order the install list to read Modloader, ToomanyItems, Optifine then try again
why doesn't it work I might just have to play with out it im using optifine 1.4.5 HD_U_D3

Anybody know a fix?

Any feedback is much appreciated.
Sidenote: That looks like a lot of error reports 0.0
If my post helped you, please click the (+) at the bottom right!
terrain.png is often placed onto mobs and other blocks.

Ok winrar, though expired, still works perfectly after you click close. re order the install list to read Modloader, ToomanyItems, Optifine then try again
mod_ArmorMovement 1.4 try removing that then re-try
Full error log would be more helpful than just one line.
It has most things that MCPatcher does except one, i cannot remember what at the time of posting.
Well... This explains the problem I was having... Sometimes I'm ashamed by my own stupidity. Excuse me please.
