Hi. I downloaded Optifine and i own a mac. It made me lag D: i was getting 70 fps and it's the same now except every once in a while i get a really big lag spike. i have TMI, Modloader, Spc (single player commands) and rei's minimap. right now i am not lagging much.
it would be nice if you can tell me why i was lagging, so yes thanks. P.S. i also forgot to mention i did set my memory to 350. only +1 fps for some reason. -Wasabi
Which Optifine version are you using? Because my framerate absolutely dies (2 FPS is the best it ever gets) if I try to use Misa's with Optifine (so far only tried with Ultra).
I'm running 1.52. I've been using Optifine since about 1.4, and it's never caused problems with anything other than the glass.
I'm getting a crash to desktop whenever I use optifine with forge and rei's minimap, no crash screen, not stuttering, just one second it's there, one second it's gone.
My graphics card is a Radeon HD 6570, and I run the game at an average 80 FPS with optifine, without it's around 60.
Hi, I'm getting a bug with optifine that when I install it, it gets to the "Mojang" screen, and then just does nothing, then the "Minecraft has crashed!" comes up. As far as I know, I installed it correctly. I deleted the META-INF and put all the .class as well as the ctm file inside my minecraft.jar, but it crashes. Any solutions?
I am having a small issue with the modular power suit and optifine.
After installing Optifine there is a visual glitch with the power suit display.
And a display problem with fluids in tanks the one in the picture is supposed to be fuel but it looks very messed up.
Messed around with pretty much every setting that i could find but cant seem to find the issue
Not able to use OptiFine at all. Magic Launcher, Minecraft, etc all up to date. All three versions of OF crash upon logging into a server. Not using any other mods.

edit: got it working; downloaded a fresh minecraft.jar by forcing an update and it seems to run fine now.
I have a feature request. With the popularity of custom maps, minecraft is being pushed to limits that would never be encountered in a normal map, and some real performance issues arise in these maps. The one I am having trouble with is spawner lag. I have a decent system, it can run minecraft with a heavily modded jar and a 64x texture pack with no problem. I have noticed that when there are a large number of spawners in an area of the map, my fps drops significantly. The extreme example is in Vechs newest map - Inferno mines. One section of the map has literally thousands of spawners, and it is not uncommon to have hundreds in the loaded chunks. That area actually became unplayable for me, dropping to 4 fps even with no mods (other than optifine) default textures, tiny render, and all other options turned down. The lag even happened when all spawners were out of line of sight, and even when on peaceful, so the lag does not seem to be a result of too many mobs. I am wondering how the game handles spawners. Does it draw them and their animation even when out of sight? What calculations is it doing on spawners that are outside of spawn range? The spawner animation doesn't move until in spawn range, but is it still being animated?
My main question is: is there a way to reduce the strain multiple spawners puts on the CPU while still allowing custom spawners (eg wide-range ones) to continue to work?

A large number of entities always causes lag increase.
You could check the number of visible entities in the debug screen and see in the debug profiler which branch takes more time when there are many spawners around.
Can someone explain to me why the connected glass textures with the MCPatcher worked correctly, and now with OptiFine they don't?
Glassblocks are not connected anymore and Glasspanes are sometimes connected correctly and sometimes they are connected from top to bottom but not from left to right...
I don't know if this helps but while Minecraft loads, i get this log:
[OptiFine] ConnectedTextures: ctm/glass_block/block20a.properties
[OptiFine] Render pass not supported: 3
[OptiFine] ConnectedTextures: ctm/glass_blockframe/block20.properties

I am using OptiFine 1.5.2_HD_U_D2. And random mobs is not working. I tried D3 and it works, but for the mods I am using I need D2. Can someone help me? Would it help to use MCpatcher for random mobs? Would it decrease my performance at all to do that?

wich mods are (in)active?
so far I know, use modloader or forge.. not both at the same time
the mods from Risugami don't go with forge.
noticed some outdated mods.
double optifine.
usage of about 4-5 modloaders
minecraft forge for mc 1.4.5
so, enough reasons that your minecraft could crash.
but I have never seen VerifyError, so I don't know a fix for it, you can better get a reply from sp614x
and for the whole error.
Using Forge and Modloader together, right now, is sketchy. There are some tricks to get them to work together, but its not Wallis smooth riding. I suggest using Forge and not ML. Forge Universal supports more mods, and using it in congruence with Magic Launcher you can install most any mod. I don't know what is wrong with your ML and optifine, sorry. It works fine for me.
Possible Bug: Mod UIs flicker with Optifine standard
I've used Optifine with other mods before, but their UIs have never flickered. Rei's minimap is flickering, Basic Guns flicker when they are aimed down the sight. Ars Magica HUD flickers. I don't know what's going on and have no idea what a fix could be. Any help?
I installed the standar version and when i play , like 1-2 minutes and it crashes with a (brown screen, blue screen, pink screen, etc) What is happenning?
without optifine everything is fine

Change texture packs ingame, or F3 + T to reload the textures.
it's dont help
EDIT: Using the HD_D_D2
Are you double-clicking on the .zip file? Because that'll open it so you can view the contents, and it looks identical to when you open a folder.
