Seriously? The creators provide an awesome mod, and all you have to do is weave through a few ads so they can get something back from all the hard work they do. Not to mention you are getting to mod for free.

Uh, why? Ultra works fine for all computers. Its just like all the other versions just with more options to toggle on and off.
Ive been a user of optifine since 1.2 and i really enjoy it though, in 1.4.5 and 1.4.6 it has been crashing in SSP any solution?
In general, OptiFine under 1.4.x seems to be the buggiest release yet. Lots of folks having a lot of problems and lower FPS. I am not sure what Mojang did under the hood between 1.3 and 1.4, but it seems less friendly for OptiFine.
Can we have a Standard edition compatible with 1.4.6?
Only the Ultra version suffers from the same texture glitches on Linux as the older Multi-Core edition used to.

Is there a solution for this yet? I have the same issue with OptiFine HD D8 Ultra (can't update to 1.4.6 because our Bukkit server is still 1.4.5-R1.0).
What is the relevant line in optionsof.txt, so perhaps we could add it manually?
Thanks for any help, having to change the FPS bar every time after starting Minecraft is quite annoying.

OptiFine D7 and D8 for 1.4.5 have the bug that the FPS limit (MaxFPS and VSync) is not loaded correctly on start. It is fixed in 1.4.6.
The workaround it to set the FPS limit to 195 FPS.
Can you please update the Standard version for 1.4.6? I can't handle the low FPS I get without OptiFine!

So I just turned Optifine off to test if an issue remained or not and it has gone now so I think it may be Optifine causing it. But on every single server I have been on so far with Optifine installed I have been having an issue were the world has been flickering in chunks when someone updates something such as opening a door or placing a block.
Video Settings -> Chunk Loading -> Default, should fix it.

For some odd reason, it isn't working with my minecraft. It was working with the old Optifine and before Minecraft updated. I did what a friend told me and opened the recent Optifine with winrar and transferred it to the minecraft file, but it doesn't work. I was wondering if anyone has any opinions because my game says that the water needs the newest MCPatcher and the dirt has purple warp holes and fire on the sides.
A lot of people on older systems (mine is even pretty decent and still got trouble with this) are very much troubled by this issue, getting things like fps drops from 134 fps to around 15 fps due to a huge amount of signs being rendered in a specific area.
Best thing would be a slider to specify the distance when signs will show their contents, would be insanely helpful on servers with markets that contain a large amount of iConomy chest-shops (they work with signs).
EDIT: also, the A2 1.4.6 version brightens up blocks whenever I'm breaking them when having Anti-Aliasing enabled, and the natural textures option doesn't seem to work on grass.

You can repeat your post all day long, but that doesn't change the fact that OptiFine HAS BEEN updated to 1.4.6.
It may not be working for you, but it's still up to date.

Try using Forge instead of Modloader. Fireworks are rendered fine with Forge and Optifine.
