(This problem might be in here some where but I'm don't really want to look through 1000s of posts lol!!!)
Okay, this mod is fantastic but I have a problem. I have Magic Launcher with Forge and 12 other mods (Mo Creatures, Death Scythe, Biome O Plenty, Ender Stuff, etc.) and I finally install Optifine. I start the game, adjust some settings and then I start a world and instantly I get a message saying "Java Platform SE Binary has stopped working". What happened? This happens without any other mods as well.
I installed this but after entering my world for 1 second it crashes. The spoiler is my crash report. I am not sure if it is just because my laptop cannot run it. I don't really know the specs or stuff inside it. Oh, and I also have MC Patcher, which may be the problem but I am not sure.
EDIT: I fixed it, it was indeed MC Patcher causing the crash.

You could always do a lot of things, I'm talking about an easy, fast way not needing to build stuff or add more and more and more mods just for something as simple as checking that. Just that, a quick way to save time finding chunks.
Not to argue much about it, but why would entering in menu/video settings and changing the distance to go out see where is one chunk, unable to see what is around further, is more simple and quick than placing a block down and hitting one button and seeing where exactly are many chunks around you without altering your view and the need to wait for everything to be re-rendered?
Got a crash report for you, this has affected the last four versions I've tried.
Optifine causes crash when creating flatworld.
OpenGL Threading disabled globally
Fresh install of 1.4.7
Using Forge #497
Using Optifine 1.4.6 HD U B3
Using MultiMC, Optifine is set to load last.
Steps to reproduce crash:
1) Launch minecraft with Forge 497 and Optifine 1.4.6 HD U B3/B2/A2 with default settings.
2) Go to Singleplayer and create new world, name any, game mode any, world type superflat, seed "Testing" without quotes *Issue appears to happen randomly for other seeds as well, all super flat worlds. The following errors were caused using a "blank" seed.
3) Create New World

Love this mod but right now the flickering ores and the already tesselating errors makes it impossible for me to use it with FTB. Hope it can be fixed soon.
All methods done with a fresh 1.4.7 minecraft.jar.
Manual Installation:
Opened minecraft.jar, searched for META-INF (Nonexistant?), threw files from Optifine's .zip anyway. Nothing happened, no crashes or error reports. Had no effect.
MagicLauncher installation:
Could not even figure out how to install optifine. Every time I used MagicLauncher to add mods, it would just continually browse the .zip. Copied Rei's minimap then Optifine to my "mods" folder in .minecraft source folder. Obviously did nothing, but I wanted to see if I was being dumb somehow.
MCPatcher installation:
Patched next fresh 1.4.7 minecraft.jar with everything normal besides better grass/font/textures as stated in spoilers (for best gfx results, I wanted everything I could have). Added Rei's minimap and patched to .jar no problem, added Optifine and patched to .jar no problem. Ran Minecraft and had the minimap but not Optifine.
I am trying to install Optifine LIGHT, because my PC is crap and it says it's better for crap PC's.
Help?
My next goal is to try installing modloader first with MagicLauncher (even though I don't need to unless I want Rei's Minimap). Sooo..
And whenever I try to download Optifine_1.4.6_L_A3.zip from your link, it has issues once then allows me to download it. I feel like the download is broken..
Can you do something like...
Errm.
You can change the color of the cape now right?
Can you add something like "Deactivate cape" and "Activate cape" for those which already bought one?
Because sometimes it looks ugly with some skins.... Would be really nice.
there's already an option in vanilla to disable your cape.
Lazy Chunk Loading smooths the chunk loading of the integrated server by distributing the loaded chunks over several ticks. The functionality was active in the previous version, the option now allows the lazy chunk loading to be turned OFF.
It is now only effective for single-core CPUs, as multi-core CPUs does not suffer from this kind of lag.
Turning it OFF may help when some world chunks does not load correctly.
Hi sp614x,
I am facing some crashing issues, which most probably caused by OptiFine ( At least they didn't happen after disabling OptiFine ).
When playing, some textures suddenly became missing when loading/rendering ( Like when I open inventory/chest, or turn cloud off then turn it back on ).
Then I tried to save and restart. But it crashed when saving.
OPTIFINE HD B3 ULTRA forg499
Smooth and Multi-Core
The default download chunks textures are not distorted.
can I fix it? you know about this bug?
The distorted textures appear to be on the face of a modded block/item. OptiFIne may not be c ompatible with the mod you're using.
Also, how do the capes work if you have an OptiFine AND a MineCon Cape. As someone sugguested above, there should be a button to disable your optifine cape.
Edit: I heard that you're working on Optifine.net accounts, and you can manage your cape from there, and possibly disable it. I think that it would just be easier to put a disable button in the section where you change your cape colour.
The distorted textures appear to be on the face of a modded block/item. OptiFIne may not be c ompatible with the mod you're using.
Sorry precisely what you need? I do not quite understand
log client? log OPTIFINE? if need be I can gladly provide.
you wrote. "OptiFIne may not be compatible with the mod you're using."
but such glitches with Textra there are animals with the default of Minecraft.
OptiFIne not be compatible with Minecraft?
it occurs randomly. then some others that blocks mobs. changes every time you restart the client.
Sorry for bad English.
this bug is following me with 146 U A3 to B2
I was hoping that it was corrected B3: (
and if you need information to correct it, I will give him just say what ..
Hello! Love your mod, been using it for a while now.
Didn't see any info about bug reporting, so I thought I'd just post it here.
I don't know if you guys know this or not, but the items for leather armor always appear white. It doesn't matter if they're dyed, or which texture pack is used, they're always white. Only the ITEMS themselves have this bug, worn leather armor is colored properly. Also, the leather cap looks like it used to in pre-1.4 times, without the brown part on top.
I've tested this, and the bug is only present with Optifine+Forge. I have the latest version of both (OF Ultra 1.4.6/1.4.7 B3 and Forge 6.6.0). I've tested this with only Optifine and only Forge, and the bug isn't in either one alone. I'm also using MagicLauncher, and I put Forge first and Optifine last like it said to on the front page.
Has anyone else had this issue? Is this enough information? Hope this gets resolved soon!
These forums are dumb and break my links. I'm bubbleawsome on steam too.

2) Go to Singleplayer and create new world, name any, game mode any, world type superflat, seed "Testing" without quotes
*Issue appears to happen randomly for other seeds as well, all super flat worlds. The following errors were caused using a "blank" seed.
3) Create New World
Minecraft will display:
Converting World
Building Terrain
Then it crashes, error log follows:

Tried multiple installation methods starting from:
Sooo..
Wtf do I do.
When I download it, it has the following files:
ban.class
bax.class
kc.class
bbb.class
bav.class
baj.class
VersionThread.class
there's already an option in vanilla to disable your cape.
It is now only effective for single-core CPUs, as multi-core CPUs does not suffer from this kind of lag.
Turning it OFF may help when some world chunks does not load correctly.

This is the crash log. Hope you can help me ( and help yourself as well ).
btw English is not my native language and I was on a 3-days-non-stop-editing so what I said maybe gelegulu
Smooth and Multi-Core
can I fix it? you know about this bug?
Sorry for bad English
The distorted textures appear to be on the face of a modded block/item. OptiFIne may not be c ompatible with the mod you're using.
Also, how do the capes work if you have an OptiFine AND a MineCon Cape. As someone sugguested above, there should be a button to disable your optifine cape.
Edit: I heard that you're working on Optifine.net accounts, and you can manage your cape from there, and possibly disable it. I think that it would just be easier to put a disable button in the section where you change your cape colour.
I was hoping that it was corrected B3: (
and if you need information to correct it, I will give him just say what ..
even with lava and water are so ...
Sorry for bad English
