I find this very strange because I decompile minecraft alot with only Modloader and Optifine installed and never had this problem. Check that you have the latest version of ModLoader and that there are no mods in your "mods" folder in .minecraft.
Ah, turns out I forgot about a mod and left it in the folder. I moved that out and double checked with the latest version of Optifine and ModLoader and it works fine now. I will move my question into the corresponding mod's thread.
For reference, the Mine Little Pony mod is causing text compatibility problems with Optifine (at least the HD D7 Ultra version). Each mod works fine on their own installed manually without ModLoader. I tried installing both manually (no ModLoader), Optifine last. It worked fine with just Mine Little Pony installed, but once I overlayed Optifine on it, I got the same garbled text. Can't tell which mod is causing this, but just a heads up. I'm guessing it's due to some conflicting files in both mods.
EDIT: I realize 1.4.6 is releasing soon, so it'd be pointless to release any sort of fix. Just pointing out this conflict so that it hopefully doesn't happen in the next version of the mod.
I am using OptiFine Ultra. When ever I try to make Minecraft use more memory the game crashes. I heard somewhere that the problem was with the Ultra version of OptiFine.
Please fix this.
You can't imagine how stupid I feel right now.
Even though I never knew the difference of any of the fancy / fast options besides turning it on and off I still feel like an idiot. Long story short, the CTM was on fast and fancy fixed it.
Thanks sp614x! The glass pane issue still persists though.
Glass panes are special and are always rendered on Fast, currently only from "ctm.png".
Whenever I place it in the magic folder in .minecraft, I go to the program and it tells me not compatible. I have minecraft.exe downloaded but it's telling me it's a .jar folder in my bin. Any way to fix this? Thanks.

There is a modloader version of that Mine little whatevers mod. Make sure to use that.
Optifine wont have reverse compatibility with this mod so you would have to install Mine Little whatevers over the top of Optifine.
If it breaks Optifine then its either doesn't support the mod or is out of date.
But yeah theres no point releasing a patch for this error in either mod because there is a update coming.Justs submit a bug report to Mine little whatevers.

Added forge compatibility to Link Removed, Enjoy. c;
I like this mod a lot but it always runs Minecraft out of memory when I load a single player game. Servers are fine but it doesn't like single player. I have allotted 4GB of space to Java so I dont think that is really the issue. Any ideas?
I have minecraft 1.4.5, which version of Optifine should I update to?
Most likely you want D7. In a day or two, D8.
D7 wants forge around 445. 445 crashes some mods (Mystcraft), that want 443; 443 seems to work with D7.
Prior to that, the tested/working version of forge was 408. That was, if I recall correctly, for D4-D6.
Next, you almost certainly want the Ultra version. Download "ultra", and then set chunk loading option to either standard, smooth or multicore. Use multicore only if you have proper drivers that follow the specs. Use smooth otherwise if you have two cores.
(In regard to a mod that gives realistic animal genetics):
Would you really rather have bees that make diamonds and oil with magical genetic blocks?
... did I really ask that?

It's actually the AA and AF that's causes the text issues. Keep them off and you'll be good.
And something similar happens with Optifine. It's both the text and the background. The images are rendered upsidedown. I'm using D8.
Speaking of bugs, changing the performance to Max FPS then leaving the game kind of saves it. The problem is when I open the game again, the FPS is set to 4. I'm assuming 0 = Max FPS. If that's the case, Optifine thinks it means 0 FPS, so it bumps it up to 4.
The game crashed when I tried Optifine A1 for 1.4.6.

You're a genius. Thank you!
Hopefully we'll be able to use AA and AF without problem in future updates.
Nice bug, to be fixed in next preview.
