So, instead of the usual complaint or bickering over frame rates and Hertz, I have an idea. Something that could be very awesome to have if it were implemented.
So, as far as I have seen, there are only a few blocks with working transparency. Ice has an opaque look to it, meaning you can see through it, but it's cloudy. And glass has transparency, but it's an "all or nothing" kinda thing. What if there were a way to allow texture packs to have transparency?
Let's say I make a texture pack that is 32x32, and I have a diamond pickaxe. Since diamond is clear when it is cut, I make a texture that has some transparency on the part that is made of diamond. Then when I am holding it in my hand, I can see through it somewhat.
Wouldn't that be kinda cool? And not only tools, but anything. Meaning you could have glass that isn't completely clear. Or diamond armor that isn't completely opaque? Then you can have zombies with parts of their arms missing, or anything you can imagine. This would open quite a few possibilities for texture artists.
I'm not sure that this would be a completely practical addition to Optifine, but considering there's already Connected Textures, I don't think this transparency fix would be too hard to create?
Does anyone know the closest thing to vanilla far render distance? The creator should add the vanilla ones (vanilla fog start and exact vanilla render distances)!
Please provide a screenshot of the issue.
Also, AA applies to every block, but only on edges. Anything else isnt smoothed by AA.
Well, I was kinda confused by the description that said it 'smoothed sharp color contrasts'. And whether it's intentional or not, I swear I've seen it smooth the jagged lines on the textures. Here are some pics of the other texture issues I was talking about: (In this image there is a bit of pink on the left side of the cow that should be white.) (The door has a rectangle of one color that shouldn't be there.) (The shovel and crafting table seem a bit off.) (There appear to be some green pixels at the edge of the grass that don't fit in.)
Would it be possible to have more chunk update control, ex having a 'no chunk updates' option?
No chunks updates = no placing blocks, no removing blocks, no world.
You can use "Preloaded chunks" to load the world and have no new chunks load when staying inside the preloaded range.

How much memory should be allocated to Minecraft, and what are the optimum settings for high performance without taking away too much aesthetics?
I have an AMD Athlon 64 x2 4600+ , Which has two cores, But my minecraft crashes with the "saving chunks" screen, when i try to enter a world or generate a new one.
I think it is a problem with the latest version of Forge. Magic Launcher says Optifine has two "errors" (Which I think means overwritten files) after I installed the latest version of Forge. Likely something happened when Forge updated to no longer need ModLoader.
Hey awesome mod but my MC hates mod of any kind unless i use mcpatcher but this does not work when installed useing mcpatcher any tip or a link to a clear water mod i just want clear water for my MC and if you can something that works with a normal modloader would be nice any good clear water mods you guys know of?
That is one of the worse run-on sentences I have ever seen.

GENERATION 25: The first time you see this, copy it into your sig on any forum and add 1 to the generation. Social experiment.
MT version has never worked well on my computer, but I try it every now and then in the off chance that something changed, magically making it work. Not sure what sorcery you pulled with the newest MT, but it now works for me! There was a little awkwardness when steve and the cows rendered as only a head and a leg, but that turned out to be me noobing up the install order . Fixed and running smooth at normal render distance. Before it was only tolerable at short +16. Thank you for maintaining this amazing mod, and for always trying to make it even better!

Don't recognize my avatar? You've missed out on one of the best games ever! http://sc2.sourceforge.net/ If you do recognize it, welcome to the next stage of life. Put on your best sweater vest and I'll meet you in the shuffleboard room
Can someone please give me an explanation of how to make my texture pack compatible with vertical connected textures?
I fit is YOUR texture pack, you need to go into your Minecraft.jar/OptiFine.zip and find the ctm.png or something. Copy it out and edit it as you please. Then put it inside your texture zip. Don't put it in ANY folder. Then turn on CT.
If it is not YOUR texture pack then go to the post and request it done. Be sure to check if it has already been done. If it has/after the creator has made it put the png into the original texture pack zip file. Hope this helps!

This statement is false.
