I have a bug. When I play Minecraft two things can happen. First, when I hit 'e' to go to my invetory, it will show a transparent workbench or it will be really messed up. Also, the game will just freeze, period.
I am using the multi-core version. What do I do?
Optifine MT seems to not be working with or without modloader for me. I attached the log for the crash. Looks like a call to an invalid method, resulting in a null-pointer?

I noticed that mycellium does not work with bettergrass, but grass and snow do. Is this a bug or a planned feature?
That's weird. It works with bettergrass on the MCPatcher version, so it's probably a bug.
Also, I noticed that the flickering chunk thing is in the to-do list, so that implies that it's fixable. Please fix it as soon as possible, I love Optifine but I can't bear to use it if these chunks keep flickering, and since I'm on a Mac the suggested fixes won't work. I'm going to go back to the stuff that comes with MCPatcher until this is fixed, I love the other features in Optifine and all but the annoyance of the flickering chunks outweighs this.
I might be late on this, but I'm noticing some Z-fighting on distant vines while zooming in while the view is moving or after it has moved and then stopped. It stops if one un-zooms and re-zooms without moving the view.
I really want to see the anti-aliasing and anistrophic filtering complete! It sounds like a major addition to the rendering system of Minecraft. It'd also be neat and really helpful to some if it were more compatible with other render-altering mods. I personally like to use the Water Shader mod which is dependent on a class file that is absolutely neccessary for Optifine to run. Maybe you could add reflective surfaces as a feature?Just a thought and I'd consider donating if there were sign of progressive development.
Hi i installed OptiFine HD B Smooth for Minecraft 1.2.3 and I get no volume in my game everything is working perfect the mod has greatly improved the game it is brilliant, but no sound does any1 know how to fix?
That may not be optifine it may be MC that happens to me sometimes without optifine try restarting minecraft or your computer or deleting resources and restarting optifine.
I found a slight bug in the latest release of optifine, when anyblock is underwater, and is effected by a light source a flicker effect happens. Its kind of annoying when your building underwater.
Here are some examples, notice the light effect on the glass blocks then the sudden darkness, the first picture is an example of the setup incase you want to reproduce.
Downloaded just the basic optifine smooth version for 1.1 (yes made sure the versions match) but my texture pack looks a bit off, and keeps yelling at me to use the patcher noob
Do I have to reinstall all my mod dependencies or did I do anything wrong? i've done this countless times before and had no problems :/
Edit: and just so you know the rest of optifine works fine, fog, etc.
Downloaded HD5 instead of HD6 this time and it all works fine now
This should be possible and is already in the TODO list.
Well that is very cool and exciting! (And now I see it in the TODO list. I clearly need to learn to read everything)
Know what else is cool? You replied over a day after I posted! You actually read your forum! Crazy!

sp614x, it seems OptiFine was compiled using Java 1.6+ again. I'm getting a black screen. Java 1.5 version please! Thanks.
(inb4 update to Java 1.6... I can't)
I have to know: why can't you use Java 1.6? It's supported all the way back to Windows 2000. It works on any Linux. It seems to be available on OS X back to 10.5 (which came out YEARS ago). So what weird setup are you using that you can't use Java 6?

This is the third time I've had to mention this to sp614x. You'll find comments of the same nature from me earlier in this topic. If you weren't so quick to be a douche on the internet, you would know that, yes OS X 10.5 came out a long time ago, and yes, it does support Java 1.6, but that's irrelevant. What matters is the CPU architecture. I'm on an old Powerbook from 2005, which is a powerpc processor, or in other words, old outdated IBM technology. Currently, only intel products on 10.5 or higher can take advantage of Java 1.6. I say currently, because Apple just might completely change their business plan and decide to support products for their entire life, rather than just however long until the next big thing to encourage upgrading. /rant
