Yes this method works fine but I don't use a launcher, I use a batch file with Optifine added to Lib path.
Optifine still won't load MysticOres 1.7.2 textures though
Hey I need help, my lagometer won't go away even if I make the option say off. I tried resetting the settings but that didn't work either. Please help me with the lagometer that won't go away.
What settings should I use to make Minecraft look as good as possible?
Hover your mouse over every setting. There is usually a fast or fancy option and it will tell you which option is fast, slow and slowest. Pick the slowest for every option until your FPS goes down to 1. Now decide which things you must have and go change the other ones back to fast.
I personally keep my Minecraft as vanilla as possible and just use Optifine for Extreme draw distance, multi-core chunk loading and clear water - try clear water, it's the best.
MysticOres 1.7.2 isn't the only one I have noticed. Also MysticOres 1.7.2 has been written in Forge / MCP environment. If it's broken by Optifine then I suggest that it is Optifine which is at fault in some way. One common factor I noticed, in CMD window output, was that (Forge only) looks for textures in mystictextures/textures/items & (Forge + Optifine) looks in MysticTextures/textures/items etc. The other affected mods seem to suffer from case sensitivity also. Don't know if this is just the printout or not. Could be a red herring.
Optifine usually decreases my performance (Is get around 200-300 on servers, and 400-500 on singleplayer) and with optifine I get around 40 - 50 (using the multicore for 1.5.2)
I'm having trouble installing it... I put it in to the mods folder, I run minecraft, and its just not there, can anyone help me? I installed forge correctly, I am using the Damage indicator mod, and it works. Please help me.
Thank You Optifine. You have greatly increased my fps from around 300fps to 500++. Thanks for uploading a newer version of optifine as soon as you could. Oh ya one more thing, OptiFine HD B1 Ultra for Minecraft 1.6.2 is still kinda very buggy. It still gives the "xray" texture( what I mean is that sometimes it just changes the opaque block to invisible) every now and then. Hopefully you could update it? Thanks.

You can't put OptiFine into the mods folder like other mods! Read the instructions in the spoiler in the opening post!

I asked before, but no one helped, so I'll ask again with a more recent crash log...
With nothing but Forge and OptiFine installed (and InvTweaks, internally. Only recently solved that issue, dammit, 1.6.2), via Magic Launcher, I get this crash whenever I try to load my world.

Get the official launcher and try the technique in my signature. Requires an unmodded 1.6.2 jar.
You managed to decompile and continue without me giving source code? O_O Bro, you are a god. Of course do whatever the [REDACTED] you want!!!! Good luck on it
When I try to install both Optifine and Minecraft Forge, Forge gets a little mad...

There has been CRITICAL TAMPERING WITH MINECRAFT, it is highly unlikely minecraft will work! STOP NOW, get a clean copy and try again!
Client> 2013-07-14 01:16:06 [SEVERE] [ForgeModLoader] For your safety, FML will not launch minecraft. You will need to fetch a clean version of the minecraft jar file
Game ended with bad state (exit code 1)
Of course, I used the installer, moved the files to another folder (and renamed them), deleted META-INF, and copied over Optifine.
I was wondering if anybody had the same problem or if they found a way to fix it.
I already looked at the Minecraft Forge Forum and he said to ask the Mod Author about it. :/
If you can find a solution or need a larger error report, just reply and Thanks.
I Use a Resorce Pack Called "SixtyGig" Its Says u Need MCPatcher But Optfine Dont need MCPatcher Cuz It Got all mods So Why Like This...
Plz i Need Fixes xD.... And Btw i Love Optifine i get like 6 Fps and With optifine Its 25-30 Fps!! And i Love This Resorce Pack To! xD

Yeah, my tutorial tells you how to install both without modding the actual minecraft jar (deleting meta-inf etc). Its just a matter of setting up your profile right.

No logs? No help.
You can't put OptiFine into the mods folder like other mods! Read the instructions in the spoiler in the opening post!
Do you have the crash report?
