Don't apologise; it's a popular concept, so there's plenty of room out there for more than one. I probably still will release it - but as I said, it's primitive, more a proof-of-concept mod (to prove I can make a mod well enough to release). I'm more interested in making a mod so I understand a little of how the game's insides work, than for any sort of recognition. To be honest, yours already looks better at first release than mine possibly will, so I'll rush through my crappy cooking mod and then maybe finish one of the others. I the only reason I chose cooking first was my version was less ambitious than some of my other goals, so I was more likely to finish it. Also, I'd only started on the cooking one yesterday in response to your hunger one, but you seem to have all bases covered. The main thing you have to be sorry about is that, before you released your farm mod, I'd finally stopped playing minecraft enough to actually start poking around inside it seriously; since your hunger and farming came out, I've been spending three quarters of the time I intend to spend on my little mods playing minecraft again. (Also, my first mod was going to be a farming one because I wanted fancypack's options extended, but again you AND Zhark solved that for me around the same time I was about to start, and now I feel little need to improve on your work.
Eeeheee heee! I love cooking mods. Anyway, I've never made pixel art before but I tried my hand at this real quick. They're already transparent and at size Very Tiny and so far they seem to work. I dunno. Someone that has done this before help me out here? Did I do it right?
- Jerky. Cause it was easy. First attempt.
- Pancake batter.
- Cheese.
- Fried egg. Not tested in game yet because of a horrible egg shortage.
- Fruit salad. not tested in game yet.
Yeah, they're there to let you know you've found a bug. If you manage to make some let me know how you managed it. Thanks to those who already have :wink.gif:

Camp- and Bonfire's fuel indicator seem to lag when placed. But this actually makes for a nice light source. I'd be happy to light my area with Bonfires rather than with torches.
What if at least the Bonfire (being large) was permanent light source until something put in it?
There's a bug where the burn time indicator isn't scaling correctly. Bonfires should last through an entire night. Its tempting to make them permanent, since they're not really cheaper than torches, but then supposedly torches will eventually be given an expiry. I'll see about making it an option though.

"Overboiling" the food could render it inedible.
Again, I was tempted to do this, but I didn't want to make it even harder to use the stove than it already is. I feel people would get frustrated figuring it out as it is, without having to worry about ruining their food by burning it. Still under consideration though.

Yellow seed flavouring is a lie! (also more ingredients need to be attached and all of the possible fuels to everything; this one in the brackets probably is obvious but I felt like it never hurts to make a note)
Yellow seeds are added as flavouring if one mod detects the other, if they're being loaded in the wrong order it might not be picking it up correctly. I'll look into it.

Yeah they look good, especially the jerky. I prefer to have pancake batter and fruit salad look like they're in the standard bucket and bowl images, just because they fit the game better that way. Your cheese is a lot better than mine, that's for sure XD
Thanks to others who have offered art, remember though that pixel art is best when made at its native resolution. Reducing larger images is difficult and often results in a blurry blob - I've failed to do it many times XD
You should now be able to cook the meat drops from Dr Zhark's FarmCraft mod, and I fixed a couple of bugs! I also updated Food Stacking to work with Dr Zharks Farmcraft foods.
Dont you want to make one thread with at least links to all your mods and post updates there? Its little inconvenient to check 4 diferent threads if you didnt added something.
lol, yeah I probably should. Thus far I've been using the links in my sig to navigate between mods.
I almost missed this one. ;p
I was looking at previous posts when I saw this in your sig. I am surely using this mod.
But I also consider starting a new map. A tiny request, campfires and bonfires should spread fire when its placed next to grass or any flammable thing, right? That way, you wouldn't be so careless with your fire and be a good boy/girl scout. Since stone wouldn't be easily obtainable on the first day, sand should be ok.
top view:
If that's ok. Thanks for another great mod. Really looking forward to thirst mod. Since now, you made a way to boil water to make it safe to drink.
*EDIT
@Xenoph: I saw the vid. Just one thing. You said sapling instead of seeds for the oil. Thanks for making demo vids like this. Its a good form of promotion, and a way for people like us to see how things are really done. well done.
+1 for torches burning out & permanent-until-cooks Bonfires. Um actually, what about lanterns? :biggrin.gif:
I'm pretty sure a mod that made torches burn out would be the least downloaded mod of all time :tongue.gif: Tempting though, as I'd like that feature too, I'm just reticent to implement something that Notch will likely eventually do anyway. Of course for those of us who want it now... I'll put it on the "to think about" list :tongue.gif:

Indeed. I probably won't make them actually set fire to grass, might just make the grass die off... But if you out a fire next to logs or something, it should probably light up. I'm also going to make it so that if a mob walks over the fire they'll catch alight, might be useful for temporary base defence... I dunno, its on the drawing board :tongue.gif:

PS: If you can, add more vegetables and fruits(tomato, carrot, pear) <- this is sugestion.
Definitely. The idea of the first release was to get the mechanics nutted out. The code is reusable, adding extra content will be very easy to do. When I get around to it :tongue.gif:
And they said there would never be another great modder!
While I'm very flattered, there are heaps of great modders around. I'm still a small fish in a big pond :wink.gif:
For one thing, I wouldn't have been able to make these mods so fast if it weren't for the MCP! :happy.gif:
Cheers though, ego does fuel productivity (albeit not as much as caffeine :tongue.gif:).

My XieBrains was what supposed to be a ready Pancake. :biggrin.gif: (I went with a full Bucket of PancakeButter, if that matters)
OK, I get the debug food when removing pancakes from the stove using a wooden bowl. I'll fix that in the next update (though that may be a few days away). You're supposed to just remove them from the stove with an empty pointer :wink.gif:

Happened when I added your hunger mod. I already have your cooking mod.
i cant craft anything,
i got
mo creatures
singleplayer commands
2x2 crafting grid,
GlassLight
Transmitter Mod
Please Respond Fast!
I have the same problem as this, but without GlassLight or 2x2, I also have your other mods working fine (except hunger, I didn't install it), but I can't make any of the cooking mod items, help please?
EDIT: I also have minecolony if that means anything (as well as Farmcraft)
Just found a bug:
You are able to put raw meat into the stove without water/oil in it, and it eats up the whole stack. (Haven´t tested with fish/... €: bug with all food items, see post below)
The result is Xie´s Brains.
I used the Mod pack (cooking, foodstacking, farming and hunger mod)
€:also, first post
Aw, your first post was on my thread. Neat :happy.gif:
Yeah, that's not a bug its a feature! An experimental one, admittedly. Stoves can cook stacks of food, not sure if this is broken or not, depends on the stack size of your food I guess, I am hoping for some feedback on the issue :wink.gif: They're supposed to come out as stacks of cooked food though. Are you trying to remove them with a bowl? If so that's probably why they're turning into brains. My bad, will fix! :happy.gif:

If you need the icons smaller I will make them smaller.
If you do not like these I will change them.
Oh I also have a Icon for Jerky :
Need any other Icons?
Click it or a creeper will kill you when you sleep.
Anyways you'll have to trans it and resize to appropiate size.
Xie's Farming (and others);
Syrup's Fancypack, Expanded Farming and Stained Glass;
Seronis's Mods;
303's Arrows and Prefix Skeletons;
This has been an unpaid, unscripted presentation.

I've heard there's a conflict with 2x2 crafting grid. Next revision will be made compatible, it might take awhile though, lol.
Till sand with a hoe. It may take awhile.
