Not that I don't like this idea - I love the fact that you've done such a thing, but there is one thing that kind of concerns me...
I myself was surprised how attached I became to my first minecraft save, so attached, that one time, when I died and I couldnt find my house, I deleted the save file and started a new one. Two days later, I was lying in bed, and I couldn't sleep, because that place was the perfect home for me, and it was really hard to let it go.
I can imagine other people would feel that way, and why wouldn't they - infinte possibilities, the minecraft world gives... so much better than the real one, that we wish we could believe that we live in minecraft. Actually, the only thing minecraft lacks, is companionship - there is never someone there for you, you are all alone, all the time...
But this mod eliminates even that thing, by giving you the illusion that there is another being there with you, helping you, healing you, never leaving you... It kind of frightens me to have that mod in, because with time, I might get attached to char-lotte too and start feeling even more alone when she's not there (after an update).
Of course, that feeling would be eliminated when you get a real life girlfriend, but I can't imagine who would install this mod if they had a girlfriend lol.
On the other hand, if this mod was a dog, not another human, I would ****ing love it.
Morty, I appreciate the fact that you've taken time to write something like this. There's one side of me, the usual side that likes to add an emotional aspect of the game to my mods. I like to sort of give a potential feeling of sadness to the game, to increase the depth and give the player a stronger connection to the world. And while all that sounds whimsical and fantastic in my head, sometimes I realize it can be incredibly disturbing. There is a difference between games and real life, and for some reason, sometime inside of me wants to bridge that gap and create a realistic experience. What I keep forgetting is that there are people in real life who commit suicide when they lose their favorite item in WoW or become violent towards their family when they are interrupted. I'm past this myself but if I care about the minecraft communtiy (and I do), I shouldn't be trying to make everyone depressed and horrified when their best friend in the game dies and never comes back. Like I said about the difference between a game and real life, there's also a difference between art and evil. I'll try harder to be more sensitive from now on - this is why I gave away the secret to letting another Charlotte spawn.
Same here - I get SUPER attached to my games, but I can let it go easily, and I don't let them interfere with my real life relationships, but I have heard, like you, that people commit suicide over things like this, and I've never felt more attached to any other game more than minecraft.. To a certain extent, our minecraft worlds define us :]

"Peace is not the absence of conflict, but the ability to cope with it”
WAHAHAH! Charlotte died in one of my "hardcore" worlds, so I deleted it and started a new one. After about 2 minutes of walking around, Charlotte yelled "LOOK OUT!" It was day-time and I was confused, but I turned around and suddenly ... another Charlotte!! My Charlotte won and the wild one died. But ... wow! Sure was a surprise. lol
This mod is one of the best things happened to this forum to date.
I will download it later, after I backed everything up. You may even see it in my LP :smile.gif: (however the next episode is already finished)
One small question: Can you lock her up in a house so you don't have to put her in danger everytime? Or will she despawn this way O_o
YOU HAVE TOTALLY KNOCKED ME OFF MY FEET THIS TIME O.o AWESOME MOD! won't be so creepy/lonely in this Cubic world anymore XD
one step closer to a town and NPC OR! maybe hired mercenaries however this is mostly likely better then that XD you keep coming up with so much fun additives to the game makes it so much more interesting Keep up the great work
will she get me a beer wile I'm watching the game?
While it is possible to get her to stay in the kitchen and to bring you a beer, there's a horrible bug in notch's code that causes female characters to always forget to put mayo on sandwiches. I decided not to release it for this reason, because of all the complaints I'd surely get.
If you're callin' about the Mobtalker scripts, I no longer have access to them.
However, it's been getting tempting lately to put together a modpack that includes CustomNPCs, so I could definitely work in something along the same themes in the modpack's quests. Feel free to give suggestions of mods that promote an experience which minimizes mining grind in favor of exploration. I'll likely have to include Grimorie of Gaia to provide good models (No I'm not gonna directly change the default mob models)
I was thinking that it would be interesting to have a "wooing" aspect to the game. I mean that in the sense of going to a village and wooing a male or female character. It would be a similar idea to that of the horses in Mo's Creatures, except that it would include making a ring instead of a saddle, and no riding involved.

It is not the weapon that makes the warrior, but the warrior that makes the weapon.
LOL! Will definitely download this tomorrow. Does the NPC support custom textures though? *cough* TF2 Medic *cough*
Well, it's possible to create custom textures for this, but already existing ones won't map properly. The extra layer of hair was taken out to make room for the ponytail and boobs, and she's skinnier than the regular player with 3-pixel-wide arms and legs. So if someone wants custom textures for this, existing ones won't really do so well.
